Just call Coghlin or Szmyt.  These 2 UFL guys look projectable.  York or Carlson do nothing for me.

"Matt Coghlin ended the regular season as the league leader in field goal percentage! He went 16 for 17 with his longest FG being from 57 yards!" .... I would take that %, and distance ability.

"Andre Szmyt spent this spring with the St. Louis Battlehawks, where he was excellent, making 19 of his 21 field goal attempts. He had a long of 61 yards and was four of five from 50 yards and beyond." .... And this as well.

Not only has Bass been inaccurate, but McDermott has no faith in him on anything over 50 yards. It's time to get a kicker who hits the long ones.

Cade York who was just let go from the Commanders for being god awful and missing kicks in the opener. Lol.

I’m glad they are giving Bass a little wake up call here with these kicker workouts, but I’m highly doubtful they will find anyone worthwhile on the kicker scrap heap. Hopefully Bass becomes a little less comfortable and starts kicking better. If so, mission accomplished.

And didn't the guy who replaced him hit 7 FGs this weekend?

I think the Bills were the first team to go to the nickel 4-2-5 as their base defense.

Based on the pendulum swing theory I wonder when they might default back to a 4-3-4.

It works well for the Bills because we have a fantastic slot defender: Taron Johnson. He covers with good DB skills and hits like a strong Linebacker, and amazingly, Cam Lewis has filled in admirably in his absence.

Weirdly, Brady reminds me of a pinball player I knew 40+ years ago.

I can't sing, dance, carry or tune, or much of anything else actually.  I'm a man of remarkably few talents.  But in college I took to pinball like a duck takes to water.  Pinball was a big thing back then and I set the campus records on several of the most popular machines.  Bring on that deaf, dumb, and blind kid - I was the real wizard!

But then one day, I saw a small crowd around a new player and instantly disliked him.  This was the late 1970's and the kid dressed like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever.  I dressed in jeans and a t-shirt.  He played with a cigarette dangling from his lips.  I was an avowed anti-smoker.  He probably went disco dancing at night with girls crowded around him (besides being stylish - in a way I detested - he was good looking).  I spent my nights alone in my room listening to flannel-shirt wearing Rory Gallagher play bluesy rock.   We were opposites.

But one by one, the freaking Disco King starting breaking my records.   When I watched him play, I couldn't figure out how.  His slap-save was pretty good but he didn't even try to execute the fancy passes or combination back-handed shots I did.   When we started playing together, he beat me 7 or 8 times out of 10 despite having no discernible skills besides keeping the ball in play.

Finally, irked, I asked what his secret was.  He expained that I had no rhythm.  My play style was stop-and-go as I set up shots.  While he didn't have my fancy shots, there was a rhythm to what he did that wasn't discernible to me at first.  I couldn't compete with him until I learned that.  When I finally did, it was like I was finally seeing & understanding something that had been entirely invisible to me before.

And that's what I think about Brady's offense.  We may not see a lot of explosive plays.  We may not see lots of long passes.  We may not see a lot of fancy Daboll stuff.   But there's a rhythm to Brady's that includes few turnovers, good time-of-possession, some boring cloud of dust stuff, and - for all its dullness - points on the board.

    . . . I just handed my pinball crown to him . . .

Thanks, Hondo; now this song will be running through my head all day long.

By the way, just go ahead and change your name now to Pinball Wizzard  🤩

"Remain amazed"?  Were you saying this before week 1?

until last Sunday, they didn't really need an "A-2".    Why would they already have this in place?  What team does?

Agree. Most teams do not have the cap space to have a great plan B (or A-2). And even if they did, what options are out there?

So many teams need better QB play; quality back-ups don't sit and wait around for A-1 to get hurt. Conceptually, it's a good theory. But it loses its oomph when you place reality over it.

Yes, it was amazing.  Amazing how everything shut down in the second half.

McDaniel in his press conference was almost totally incoherent talking about Tua.  I don't think he even knows what he's thinking.   He was lost.

I have trouble seeing a guy with his personality and his overly-analytical style succeeding as a leader of men in this league.   He's an odd guy.

Anyone else have a lot of trouble with prime.  There were instantaneous freezes throughout the game - either the video or the audio or both stopped for a few seconds.  I had a few total freezes where I had to log out and log back in.  But, of course, all the commercials ran fine.

Yes! Same issues. I can't believe how poorly their productions are and that the NFL lets them get away with this. They are not equipped to handle NFL games.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:  After a long period of exemplary performance, I am elevating "I'M RICK" James Cook, "BIATCH!!" to automatic game ball status, which he certainly earned today.  Usual rules apply, Cook will receive the automatic game ball unless revoked.  Josh Allen gets his automatic game ball today.

Offensive Line - The big uglies opened gaping holes for Cook and kept Josh upright.  This group will only get better as they have more time to jell.

Khalil "Tupac" Shakir - Consistently relieved the pressure on Josh by getting open for the easy outlet.  He's not our #1 receiver, but right now, he is our best receiver.

Defensive Line - Achane had a few nice runs, but the pocket kept collapsing on Tua, and he could never get comfortable.

"The Right" JaMarcus Ingram - We certainly got the right JaMarcus.  Dude has a ton of confidence.  Can't wait to see what he has in store for us down the road.

Defensive Backfield - While Ingram stood out, the rest of the DB's and Safety's deserve recognition for keeping the Miami air attack firmly grounded.  Robbed of the deep ball, the Fish had to grind out the yards, and they just ain't built for that.

Coaching staff - In the immortal words of Arthur Fonzarelli, I was wrrrrrr....  I was wrrrr....  I was.....not exactly right.  They had the team ready to play, and the defensive gameplan was ***** genius.  I'll take my crow well done on this one.

    Who ya got?

I agree with all, and add:

    - Dalton Kincaid = showing a toughness for YAC that I did not expect

    - Dorian William = is quietly becoming a very good LB, and his speed and strength have been on display

  8. It was ugly, but the poor guy having to work with Deshaun Watson—that is even more ugly.

I have a theory that Stefanski is content with watching Watson implode on the field. Doubt Stefanski feels one bit of sympathy leaving him out there in a week 1 home blowout loss with booooos for the QB play.

I agree because Stefanski seems to have a moral compass, whereas his putrid owners don't.

Not sure if anyone else noticed but on the Cardinals last drive at :45 secs left, the Chain Gang reset to 1st down when it should have been 3rd down.  The Cardinals were given a new set of downs when it should have been 3rd down on the next play.  They were give 2 extra downs.  HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN???

BILLS D REALLY STOOD UP HAVING TO DEFEND 6 PLAYS INSTEAD OF 4.

COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER!  GET IT TOGETHER REFS!

I did. But just assumed they accually got the first down. If it was not, how can that happen!!!
