  1. I don't disagree with your last sentence. I'm just not completely buying 'hook, line, and sinker' everything being said or intimated at this time of year. We may never know for sure as there is a good chance that Farley is gone by 30. If he's there and they pass, then that is at least a better indicator that Beane was being truthful. I just don't believe that they'll summarily dismiss the option at 30 for a player at a premium position who could potentially end up being the best CB in the draft. Regardless, if he's there, they'll trust their own medicals and vetting processes when the time comes.
  2. It's one man's mock and it only takes one GM to fall in love with the player. Despite his medicals, I would be more surprised if Farley actually lasted until 30 than I would if Beane took him at 30.
  3. In his final mock draft released today, he has the Bills taking CB Caleb Farley. ♥️ https://www.nfl.com/news/bucky-brooks-2021-nfl-mock-draft-3-0-49ers-pick-trey-lance-najee-harris-to-cardi?icampaign=nflweb-push-webnotification
  4. I'm on record in several threads saying that while I wouldn't be thrilled with Etienne as their 1st Round pick, I get why they would do it. If they do, I'm okay with it. If they move up and use more assets to do it, then I am not. I'm not jumping off a cliff either way no matter what they do. I've also said that we can't control what they do or don't do as an organization so once the player is chosen, I'm pulling like hell for him to succeed as a Buffalo Bill whether or not I liked or disagreed with their choice. My personal preference is that they not take Etienne but I realize what he can bring to the offense. I'm hoping for a CB or WR but, regardless, I hope that whoever it is can be a long-time contributor and success. Did Screamin' A suggest (yell) exactly what they should surrender for a 32 year-old WR with a big cap hit and discuss whether or not it's a good idea to commit that kind of money at the position when Diggs will be commanding a pay raise sooner rather than later?
  5. He definitely needs to work on his zone coverage skills but he's a 'Top 10', talent, if healthy, and a probable 'shut down' corner. You find a way to make him fit. He's a rare talent who trumps scheme and he would bring some versatility that would allow McDermott to change up his coverage packages, if necessary.
  6. Except by the 'Etienne or Bust' crowd.
  7. I would love to get him but it's looking increasingly likely that they'll have to make a move up to get him.
  8. Agreed, which is primarily why I don't want Etienne in the 1st Round, especially at the cost of additional draft assets. Even if you hit on one who makes it to his second contract, it's questionable at best whether allocating those resources to that position is a smart move. Dave Gettleman is about to find that out very soon.
  9. This is probably recency bias on your part because that statement is absolutely a false narrative. It's not rare to find a good RB outside of the 1st or 2nd Round. Using your Chris Carson reference, that 2017 draft alone is littered with several good choices in Round 3 and beyond: Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt, and James Conner all in Round 3, Tarik Cohen and Marlon Mack in Round 4, Aaron Jones in Round 5, Chris Carson in Round 7. Hardly rare. http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/positions/rb
  10. It's all that day drinking. Hang on and the feeling will pass.
  11. So 'Twatter' caught someone in a lie? What a shock. 😉 If it didn't come from that 'fountain of knowledge', Todd McShart, I'm not buying it.
  12. If they "don't want Allen taking all of the hits that he does", they have the power to change some of that by having their OC call fewer designed QB runs. If they stay at 30 and draft Etienne, I wouldn't be thrilled but I could understand it to some extent; however, trading up for him would be asinine and irresponsible, probably costing them at least their Round 3 pick (#93). In doing so, they would have used three 3rd Round picks and a 1st Round pick on three different RBs in a three year span. That is not the proper way to build a roster "for the long term". It's a recipe for disaster. If they want to add a speed element to the backfield, there are cheaper options later in the draft including Gainwell, Jefferson, and Hawkins not to mention that they have added Breida who can also catch. If they go up into the 19-24 range. it better be to get a CB like Newsome or Farley, an Edge like Paye, a WR like Bateman, or a unicorn like Owusu-Koramoah. Otherwise, stay put and let the draft (or Etienne) come to you.
  13. I don't know...I could very easily see him in a Summer's Eve commercial.
  14. Agreed, Logic. I also think he offers versatility and the ability to play outside. I won't be thrilled if they take him at #30 but won't be completely crushed either. He feels like a much better Round 2 value/selection but we all know how wonky and unpredictable the draft can be.
  15. Agree on Basham. If he ends up as the Bills' choice at Edge, the draft fell horribly wrong for them.
  16. Phillips' landing spot is also going to depend on just how squeamish teams are of his medicals. He may slide because of his concussion history and quitting the game once already. He's a fairly high risk/high reward prospect. Shouldn't this really be in Yolo's 'BOLD draft predictions!' thread? 😉
  17. File it in the 'Death, Taxes, and The Sun Rising in The East' folder.
  18. Is this the illegitimate love child of DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins? Bold Prediction: Not one Bills fan will get upset at Buffalo's first selection. Not only is it bold, it's completely unrealistic and as bad as at least half of the 'bold' predictions in this thread. (There is a difference between bold and completely ridiculous)
  19. I generally agree with the philosophy of trading down to acquire more picks because it gives you the latitude to have more misses with your swings or to keep moving around. I just don't think they made KC pay a premium. That 2nd Rounder should have been a non-starter, IMO.
  20. I believe you...and truer words were never spoken. There is also a Blue Knob State Park. Welcome to Pennsyltucky.
  21. Agreed. You have to wonder if Baltimore would have been better off trying to package Brown in a trade to move up the draft board similarly to what the Bills did with Cordy Glenn. Giving a 2nd Round pick back to KC in that trade was not good, IMO. As you said, KC is their #1 roadblock in the AFC. If they want your OT, make them pay a premium.
  22. Nobody has banged the drum harder for JOK than me and I'd love to have him added to the Bills' D. That said, I'm not trading that much draft capital when the team really needs to add at CB, Edge, WR, & IDL. Better to just admire him from afar and hope that he doesn't land with a division rival.
