  1. Also a potential "nice guy" factor. The Bills knew that they had no use for him at his current salary and cutting him now gives him time to land somewhere before camp starts or shortly after. Yeah the 1 million dollar+ per game is astounding. He (or at least his agent) sure saw Buddy Nix coming.
  2. Maybe its just me, but I'd rather have him make the game exciting by making big plays instead of "style". All the dancing and prancing and t-shirt printing does nothing for me.
  3. I think getting rid of him for a shirt he wore at some time (maybe not even recently) is a big over reaction. What he does off the field, no matter how embarrassing, is his business as long as he can still play the games. However the on field stupidity that costs the team definitely has to go.
  4. I'm not upset. I am puzzled however. This was not SJ tweeting the picture. This was the official Bills social media people doing it on Facebook.
  5. In and of itself it does not make him immature. But when you add it to the list of other well publicized incidents it does show a high level of immaturity. That being said, we have no idea when the picture was taken. It could have been years ago. As others mentioned, publishing it is a gaffe of the Bills social media people (person?). In fact there may be an opening in that department soon, get your resumes in
  6. Equally interesting/disturbing is that the official Buffalo Bills Facebook presence chose to publish the photo.
  7. They should all be embarrassed by the shirt, but SJ at least won't be. "U.S.S. FUHKMORE"
  8. New HC, new OC, should be able to get premium value for Spiller assuming he has a good season. Would seem to be a possible scenario. But would make the board blowups this off season look like popcorn farts by comparison
  9. I'm not convinced that is the case any more. I'm sure throughout most of it's history that NFL teams relied on revenue from tickets, concessions etc to stay in business. But now I have to believe that money is nothing compared to TV revenue. I'd like to see the numbers on how much Mr. Wilson puts in his pocket after a sold out home game versus his share of the TV revenue for that same game.
  10. Photo gallery of cover finalists. http://www.buffalobi...paign=fb_buf_pg My honest response is they should keep looking. If I had to pick one, she would be the one for me. But what you say sums it up perfectly.
  11. My general philosophy is to not bother with free agents that you won't keep for more than a season or two unless you are putting in the final pieces for a deep playoff run. I don't think the Bills are in that position this season.
  12. Except for a couple of them, generally their faces are the problem for me.
  13. I still have some for both nights as well.
  14. As I said, I understand that. The entire concept makes no sense to me though, agreed to by the union or not. I guess what that shows is that the owners lawyers can kick the **** out of the players lawyers.
  15. His contract was up. Why should he have any restrictions placed on him? I know that's the way it's currently done. I'm just questioning the sanity of it. If I enter into a contract with you to paint my house and you complete the job. Should I have the right to force you to accept another contract with me? Or if you accept a contract from another person the other person has to compensate me? In any other business but the NFL, that would be grounds for a restraint of trade lawsuit.
  16. Geez. What's scary is that I assume that they consider this one of the better pictures of her and worthy of publishing. Yikes.
  17. You can take the grade school "what if's" out even further. Byrd signs the tag, shows up for everything but has a mysterious illness game days that keeps him off the field. But neither side wants to play pointless kid games like that. The big problem is the concept of a franchise tag is flawed. He lived up to his end of the commitment he made to the Bills. He should be free to negotiate with whomever he likes for his next one.
  18. My opinion is that QB is the single most important, as well as the single most difficult, position to play which makes it logical that very few kids would be ready to graduate college and start in the NFL the next fall with only a few weeks of camp and a couple preseason games experience. I would expect all but a very select few QBs to be considered projects.
  19. I agree with what you are saying. The only problem is that this is year 14 of the rebuilding process, and it is starting from basically ground zero again. That in and of itself leads to a great deal of frustration for a lot of people.
  20. They learn that in cliché class (one of the few mandatory classes for college athletes). It's never about the fans, or the city, or the team. This is a business to the owners and to the players. The players have a short career and in the case of football are putting their future quality of life on the line, so maximizing their earnings while they can is the only smart thing to do. 50 years ago things might have been different as players (and owners) were not making the stupid money they do now. But now it's "show me the money".
  21. That seems to be a common trait for Jills.
