  1. I'm not convinced that is the case any more. I'm sure throughout most of it's history that NFL teams relied on revenue from tickets, concessions etc to stay in business. But now I have to believe that money is nothing compared to TV revenue. I'd like to see the numbers on how much Mr. Wilson puts in his pocket after a sold out home game versus his share of the TV revenue for that same game.
  2. Photo gallery of cover finalists. http://www.buffalobi...paign=fb_buf_pg My honest response is they should keep looking. If I had to pick one, she would be the one for me. But what you say sums it up perfectly.
  3. My general philosophy is to not bother with free agents that you won't keep for more than a season or two unless you are putting in the final pieces for a deep playoff run. I don't think the Bills are in that position this season.
  4. Except for a couple of them, generally their faces are the problem for me.
  5. I still have some for both nights as well.
  6. As I said, I understand that. The entire concept makes no sense to me though, agreed to by the union or not. I guess what that shows is that the owners lawyers can kick the **** out of the players lawyers.
  7. His contract was up. Why should he have any restrictions placed on him? I know that's the way it's currently done. I'm just questioning the sanity of it. If I enter into a contract with you to paint my house and you complete the job. Should I have the right to force you to accept another contract with me? Or if you accept a contract from another person the other person has to compensate me? In any other business but the NFL, that would be grounds for a restraint of trade lawsuit.
  8. Geez. What's scary is that I assume that they consider this one of the better pictures of her and worthy of publishing. Yikes.
  9. You can take the grade school "what if's" out even further. Byrd signs the tag, shows up for everything but has a mysterious illness game days that keeps him off the field. But neither side wants to play pointless kid games like that. The big problem is the concept of a franchise tag is flawed. He lived up to his end of the commitment he made to the Bills. He should be free to negotiate with whomever he likes for his next one.
  10. My opinion is that QB is the single most important, as well as the single most difficult, position to play which makes it logical that very few kids would be ready to graduate college and start in the NFL the next fall with only a few weeks of camp and a couple preseason games experience. I would expect all but a very select few QBs to be considered projects.
  11. I agree with what you are saying. The only problem is that this is year 14 of the rebuilding process, and it is starting from basically ground zero again. That in and of itself leads to a great deal of frustration for a lot of people.
  12. They learn that in cliché class (one of the few mandatory classes for college athletes). It's never about the fans, or the city, or the team. This is a business to the owners and to the players. The players have a short career and in the case of football are putting their future quality of life on the line, so maximizing their earnings while they can is the only smart thing to do. 50 years ago things might have been different as players (and owners) were not making the stupid money they do now. But now it's "show me the money".
  13. That seems to be a common trait for Jills.
  14. A proven head coach and QB leaving is not the same as a rookie HC and QB joining a team. So yes, I would consider the pats* history and determine that they would not be nearly as good after losing Marcia and the bellycheat.
  15. As the OP states, she is attractive. But really, no more than that.
  16. The 4pm deadline came and went. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Long-term-deal-deadline-for-Byrd-passes/df089684-feb6-4b72-be6b-e990e9ab40ef?campaign=fb_buf_article
  17. Hmmmm are you sure. Do you think the pats* will make it to the playoffs this season? Is that based on past history? True enough that there were big changes to the Bills. But the same big changes happened 3 years ago as well. The past 13 years don't guarantee failure this coming season. But they are cause for concern. You could have, and probably did, have the same feeling when Gailey et. al. came to town. The faces may have changed from the Bills of Old, but the rebuilding dance still continues. it might be. You are not only asking for them to make the playoffs, which they haven't done for 13 years, but you want them to qualify high enough to get a home game, AND win that game.
  18. It's not the verdict that anyone should be upset about, but the law in Florida. A relative of mine is an attorney in the district attorneys office (not in Florida) who looked at the law and the trial and feels the jury did the only thing they could do. I am not a lawyer myself, but I trust her judgement completely.
  19. Hopefully fewer than last season.
  20. +1 I'd trade Mario and his super sized salary along with Byrd for Watt.
  21. if the past is irrelevant you would want them both the same since you would have no data to base a decision on.
  22. I like reading these stories as well. But it makes me wonder if they can give away so much so easily, then how much money are they making as a company in general. For example, even giving BuffBill all that, you know they are still making good money off of him. So think about how much they are making off of the other millions of customers that don't call to get free stuff.
