  1. I watched Odunze in the game yesterday and wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be. He played well overall, but wasn't the best Washington WR in this game.

He relies on his physical attributes & strong hands to out-position DBs for the ball, not really a route-running technician. He somewhat reminds me of Quentin Johnson at TCU last year, who was dominant in college but considered somewhat raw coming into the NFL. Those type of WRs usually aren't immediate contributors, and take time.

  2. I totally agree about the benching of Cook. We had at least 5 different players with a drop yesterday, while Cook's was the only that would've been a TD, it's still ridiculous that he's singled out.

The only positive, is if Cook hadn't been benched for a time these 2 games, we wouldn't know how good Ty Johnson can be. He looks really good.

  3. In HS, once player hits the ground, he's down. I'm guessing the ref ruled that he didn't have possession long enough for it to be called a catch. If that's the case, the player wouldn't have been down & the ball is still live.

Based on the photos, looks like a catch & tackle before the ball is out. Would love to see video of the play.

  4. I coached against a youth team who used the tush push as one of their primary plays, they'd get 10+ yards sometimes. Aiding the runner was illegal, but the refs refused to call it all year. After they got us with it a few times, I figured out the solution- cut the Center. I had one of my DTs immediately dive into the Center's legs on the snap, the QB & most of the OL would fall over him into a pile. After 2 attempts of no gain and their Center limping back to the huddle, they gave up on it.

I'm sure Kelce doesn't want 300lb guys falling into his knees, so even if it doesn't completely stop them, at worst it'd be a deterrent.

  5. I fully understand him getting back into it. What bothers me is his level of effort. He gets off fast on the snap, then just slows down & stands there. He is not even trying to make a play most of the time. It's one thing if he can't do it yet, but not even trying is another all together. Let him sit until he's capable of a 100% effort. I can't understand why he takes reps from AJ who is playing well.

  6. Romo took the NFL world by storm his 1st year calling games because he was the first to really diagnose what was happening on the field, and use his knowledge of coverages & pre-snap reads to correctly predict what was about to happen. It was a breath of fresh air. He went away from that within a year or 2 for some reason, and now is just another drone talking head. He's become almost as annoying as Collinsworth.

  7. Gabe was great on that play, until... he seemingly intentionally runs directly into the nearest tackler. Even if he doesn't have the speed to outrun the other tacklers, he gets another 10 yards minimum if he just runs away from the inside tackler instead of into his waiting arms.

I was watching the game with my son who is a HS QB. As that play happened, we both looked at each other & simultaneously said that looks just like something one particular receiver on his team constantly does. The kid is a decent WR, but almost never gets YAC. He tries some stupid cutback, runs right into a tackler & gets dropped, that stuff doesn't work with average speed. It's infuriating, just run toward the damn daylight.

He kinda looks like Bernard did last yr when he seen the field. Hopefully year 2 treats him the same

I think Dorian is playing much faster than Bernard did as a rookie. Rookie Bernard looked slow, like he was processing everything before reacting. He's a totally different player now, that's why it was such a surprise when he became an overnight sensation.

Dorian is making mistakes, but he plays fast, hopefully a sign of a very bright future.

  9. The 12 personnel clearly didn't work the way they expected. But why do we even need to feature 2 TE sets? Our offense works best in a Spread.

Kincaid clearly needs to be on the field almost every play, and he isn't really a true TE anyway. Use Kincaid as a slot & Knox at TE, call it 11-personnel, profit. Shakir comes in for 4-WR sets & takes some of Gabe's reps in 2 or 3-WR sets.

  10. Josh's issue is not physical, it's 100% mental. He may still be managing some pain, but pain doesn't make him decide to target a double-covered 5'6" receiver on deep balls. He's made every throw possible the past few games, so that isn't the issue. It's the 3-4 really bad decisions per game that is the problem.

  11. As a fellow out-of-towner, I took my 2 sons to their 1st game vs Atlanta in January 2021. Sons were 12 & 14 at the time, I hadn't been to a home game in several years & expected it to be much more raucous than it ended up being. We walked around throughout the tailgates & went into the stadium pretty early. We also got out of there immediately after the game to head to the airport. I didn't see any crazy behavior at all, no fights and not a single boobie. During the game was a pretty calm atmosphere too, nobody was screaming f-bombs or anything. There was a random guy next to me with his 8yr old kid at his first game too, zero issues.

We had seats in the 12th row on the 45yd line, so that probably helped avoid the riff-raff. The fact that it was 10 degrees also probably helped keep the atmosphere more tame. I'd suggest getting good seats, the cheaper the seats, the more sloppy drunks you'll encounter.
