  1. TEs almost never contribute much as a rookie, most take 2-3 seasons. A first round TE pick is usually one of 2 things: a luxury pick for a contending team that doesn't have other glaring needs, or a lower level team that's is 1-2 years away from playoff contention & can endure TE growing pains.

We are in the middle of our championship window & have too many immediate needs for our first rounder to be only used in sub-packages.

    Kenny Golloday

If anyone needs a prove it contract on a cheap one year deal it’s him.

Golladay has lost way more than a step since his last good season in 2019. He also lost any semblance of hands he once had.

He was benched for Hodgins last year, and his only game with significant playing time (100% of snaps) was the Giants' Week 17 game in which they sat their starters. That tells you all you need to know.

  3. There's a lot of breakdown & individual play analysis, but here's their conclusions:

So, what are the Bills getting in McGovern?

It really depends on what they ask him to do, but he seems to be a nice fit into the Bills’ blocking scheme that requires more movement ability out of their front five. McGovern could struggle a bit if they swing to a more power-based run game with Damien Harris. But as a pass blocker, which is what the Bills ask their offensive linemen to do more often than not, they are getting a good player. McGovern looks like an average to slightly above-average starting guard in the Bills’ scheme and a significant upgrade over Rodger Saffold at left guard if McGovern’s 2022 tape holds up.

So, what are the Bills getting in Harty?

Beane said they looked at Harty to fill their WR4 role and everything Harty showed on film in 2021 indicates a chess-piece player from multiple spots of the offense with the potential to make game-changing plays at any moment. His overall speed on one side can attract attention away from Stefon Diggs, and if it doesn’t, they have a potential one-on-one matchup with what is likely the fastest player on the field. The Bills also have had a lot of trouble with quick screens over the years, but Harty allows them to do slower-developing screens to him, allowing the blockers to get out ahead of him and the speed to erase that gap in time lost. Additionally, Harty has the potential to be a menace during Josh Allen’s many improvisational plays, with defenders losing track of him deep enough to take the top off the defense. He should play at least 25 to 40 percent of snaps each week and is a clear upgrade over Isaiah McKenzie.

Beane has said in the past that - ideally - he goes into the draft with no gaping holes.  He tries to fill out a competent roster before the draft so he can go BPA during the draft.  Q is our backup tackle for now.  He may yet be supplanted by further additions.

Well Beane did have a gaping hole at CB going into last year's draft. And I think we all expect he'll have one at MLB this year.

But at least it's only 1 major hole, and I think Q is a solid backup. I hope it doesn't prevent us from drafting more than 1 OL.

  5. It's extremely rare that a rookie TE makes a significant contribution in year 1, it's one of the hardest learning curves among all positions. I don't expect Beane to draft a TE in rounds 1-2.

It'll probably be OL in the 1st, but I'm not sure if O'Cyrus Torrence is a fit, he's more of a road-grading run blocker. I could see McBeane taking an OL with flexibility to play OG or OT.

If we don't sign Bobby Wagner, I think they'll probably trade down from #27 & take Jack Campbell somewhere in the 30s.

  6. A 260lb LB?

I see that his shuttle is in the 9th percentile. That shows his change of direction is very slow despite being really "straight line" fast, that's definitely due to his size. LBs need to be fast changing directions, in coverage and everything else they do. I agree with the others that he's probably an Edge prospect, not a LB.

“With their second round pick, the Buffalo Bills select Jack Campbell, linebacker Iowa”.

I like it, but they'd have to trade down out of the 1st round to do it. Campbell isn't making it to pick #59. We'd need to get in the first 10 picks of the 2nd.
