Bills got their Edge player and a solid prospect at that. The Bills needed someone to come in and compete for those 4th and 5th DE rotation spots. They also don’t have any DE’s besides Von under contract long term. So adding a cheap option is good

Kelvin Benjamin had a 1000 yard season his rookie year and after being hurt year 2 he had a 900 yard season in year 3. Had he had a better work ethic he probably would have been a really good player.
So if Coleman is Kelvin Benjamin but with a better work ethic that’s probably going to be a home run pick.

Without the work ethic he had good years as a rookie and a third year player.- 3

Allen has been on record and even piecing together his off seasons. He takes 1-2 months off completely. No working out. Goes plays golf. Travels w his lady friend
he says he doesn’t participate in draft process, no interviews, no game tape
he said he watches the YouTube highlight vids.
I DO not want in anyway Allen to make picks directly. I think this is all funny interview filler.
They may ask Josh what traits he likes in a WR and then they look at the WR’s in the draft and take the one that fits the profile best. -

Trade out. 163 for 168 and 219.
Seems like a solid trade to go down 5 spots. My question is what do they do with 4 more picks? I think they can easily roster an Edge and CB but after taking an LB their places where they can go with those two other picks is shrinking. Maybe they are hoping to punt away a pick for a future selection or go for a kicker/punter? -

I'm out...Beane just traded 163 to GB. Nothing more to see here everyone. Kinda disappointed with this draft. Sorry Josh, as usual do it all yourself.

My least favorite draft since we drafted Maybin in the first.
You liked the 2010 CJ Spiller draft more than this one? Stop- 1

Damn! OT Christian Jones goes right before our pick. I had us taking him with our first 5th and would have loved to have gotten him with our last.
I think they are good on offensive line with the drafting of Granger. They probably feel solid with Van Denmark as the swing tackle.- 1

I didn’t think they would have gone LB but they seem to have gotten a good depth player who can do special teams. I really don’t understand the bitching about this draft. They got a WR and a lot of other solid needs and players. Now they added some Lb depth and special teams help. Not a bad draft at all.

What a weird draft.
Not bad.. just weird.
Everything we’re doing makes complete sense. We’ve added 3 potential starters at WR, S and C, along with a rotational DT and RB.
Just very business like. Nothing aggressive. No real gambles. Not much boom or bust.. just good players at positions of need, yet nothing that really moves the needle when it comes to Josh trying to slay Mahomes, while fighting off other teams like HOU, NYJ and BAL.
It’s a great draft just good solid business. They got a WR with their first pick after two prudent trade downs then addressed two big defensive needs at S/DT. Then addressed two offensive non-WR needs in RB/C possibly adding a starting center all while adding a 4th round pick in 2025.The team still has 3 selections remaining and can get Edge and CB depth along with another WR or another lesser urgent need.
Beane has had a great draft filling out the roster well while also adding a future me pick.

Jets by far have the best overall roster in the AFCE. If they stay healthy, they should be really good. They’ve had a solid draft.
The Jets have a lot of big names on the roster but their fundamentals are always bad. They have a 41 year old QB coming off an Achilles tear… -

Bills fans gotta stop obsessing over KC, like just worry about the Bills and how they get better. Beane has proven he’s one of the top 5 drafters in the league. So many of his later round picks exposed to waivers get claimed which shows you how respected his ability to draft is.- 3

Yeah this seems like an "off the bus starter" kinda' draft so need seems very relevant to McBeane.
Need(and maybe get in this order):
Edge
IOL
CB
WR
LB
RB
OT
and hopefully a backup QB prospect in there.
Don't get too caught up in the numbers.........players will get injured or trades can be made in camp.
I think they have about 5-6 spots where they think picks can get rostered. I don’t think they want to come away with 7 picks due to how two of their picks last season got placed on waivers.
They badly need depth at CB, RB and DE that’s three positions where I feel confident they will make selections at. I also think WR, C and DT are in play.

I just assumed Van Pran was gone. Walker in the fourth, okay.
Guerendo or Braelon Allen at RB. I wouldn't mind Kendall Milton later in the draft.
I assumed Van Pran was gone too. I would love to see the Bills land Franklin or Van Pran somehow.
I think offensively the Bills are going to take a RB for depth and special teams and I think they will take a WR or offensive linemen.
Defensively Corner and DE are also likely with a second DT possible.

Looking at what position groups have space on the roster after these 3 selections.
Spots where there’s definitely room and a need for depth
1- DE
2- CB
3- RB
Spots where there’s likely room
1- WR
2- O-line
3- DT (yes they drafted one pick 95 but they usually carry 5)
That’s about 5-6 rosterable slots and the Bills have 7 picks.
There is likely going to be a consolidation of picks or trading away for future selections as with 7 picks I think they want to avoid what happened last year where two picks were claimed off waivers.

As far this pick goes I am ok with it. DT was a glaring depth and development need. They had two vets in Daquon and Johnson plus Oliver in his prime. They needed a 4th DT to round out the rotation and have to develop behind the older players.
I wanted Franklin but he’s still on the board for some reason and the Bills filled two of their most pressing defensive needs and grabbed a WR at pick 33. A really good night and the Bills are drafting 5 times in the next two rounds so there’s time to add depth at WR, CB, DE, RB and OL.

Who says that we are done? Buffalo has enough picks for trade capital. Maybe Franklin falls to Buffalo or Buffalo moves up to get him. Maybe a trade for Aiyuk or Higgins is on the table.
I would prefer a veteran. Any Receiver left in the draft is no more or less likely to contribute this year than Shorter, Hollins or Isabella.
I think the Bills may draft another WR (hopefully Franklin falls or they make a trade up) but I think they are looking at any WR drafted as depth or a role player. They probably plan on running two TE sets and rolling with Coleman on the outside and Shakir/Samuel splitting the other outside WR reps.
I am fine with rolling with that provided they add a depth piece as I think relying on Shorter and Hollins is not a good idea as the back two WR’s. Hopefully they can get Franklin as I am not sure why he has fallen so much (maybe there’s a medical out on him).

Nice pick solidifies a need moves Rapp to the primary backup and role player spot. Would have preferred IOL or WR but not at all dissatisfied with grabbing a safety and solidifying the defense
