1. Not a problem.  :)

Do you remember when JB(that's what BJ Hobert called him) told us that Collins was going to be the "steal" of the draft?

    205074

I do. I am a draftnik and thought Bobby Collins was gonna be a steal too. I get the draft guides all year-noone had Bobby on their radar. Then weeks before the draft Kiper projects him as a steal and probable 3rd or 4th round pick. I thought Corey Moore was gonna be a player in this league too. What do I know?

  2. sh-- I missed a few obvious ones. I guess I am leaning more towards the lower-level trades. I meant more like players who are dealt for 5th-7th picks instead of proven veteran. I think those kinds of subtle trades are really interesting.

I beleive the Bills made a lower level trade player for player a few years ago and I cant think of it. Its not Chris Watson. I beleive it involved a TE. Fuggin driving me crazy. If I recall both players ended up busts. WTF was that trade?

  3. So a fake mooning in Lambeau is seven and one half times less bad than a clothesline hit that nearly leaves a guy half-crippled?  The NFL's got a pretty screwed up sense of justice.

Of course, I kind of figured that out when that Cleveland receiver last year held up the "Please fine me again, Mr. Tagliabue" sign on the sidelines on TV during a game last year...and got fined $10k.

Since you love to correct people- that was not a Cleveland WR. It was Chad Johnson from the Bengals. The message also read "Dear NFL please don't fine me again Merry Christmas"

  4. Great job man! You must feel great! I love when I see someone running in pouring rain or snow or sh------- condiditons. Thats when you truly become a runner. My father has runs every Sunday morning and has only missed two days the last 30 years of Sundays. No matter what the condition is he is out running. Keep up the good work man!

  5. The reason why I refuse to believe that is..it was non stoping talking for about 3 months..it was like clock work! morning, afternoon and then when she was off to bed we'd talk and talk and talk..and now all of a sudden it just stopped???? her reasoning for stopping it was because the cell bill was getting to high and she was getting busy..now I ask ya, how is it you weren't busy then, but your busy now? your doing the same stuff now that you were doing then?? in my opinion she LIKED IT ..she liked every minute of our conversations..and didn't want to lead me to believe that I had a shot soo she shut me off completely..she's been treated like crap by soo many guys, that she doesn't know how to react to a guy who actually likes her for HER

    3 syllables for you- AT-TEN-TION

  6. Sounds like the women viewed you as a friend and that was it. Many women love to string along men even if they have no interest in a relationship. The fact that she cut you off with communication leads me to beleive she is telling the truth when she says she does not want to go out with you. Perhaps she is looking out for you and does not want you view her that way. Dont press it and give her her space. If its meant to be its up to her. She knows what you feel. Back off and enjoy your life.

  7. So?  Individual stats can be manipulated to mask anything you want (which is pretty much the point of this futile thread).  BR threw 16 TDs in 15 games.

I'm not defending Drew or Eric Moulds.  Both have been disappointing over the last couple of seasons - at least some of which is due to each other.

    202268

My point was the reason Moulds was listed so low was he did not have the TD catches that most other top tier receivers did. TD catches were scored very high for Football Outsiders criteria. Other then TDs Moulds numbers match up with most every elite WR and he has a hinderence at QB.

  8. And to the tool who said Nevermind... must be a Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come as Your fan!!!!

    202246

That tool would be me jackass. I have Bleached and the rest of Nirvanas CDs along with 2000 other CDs, thousand of records and even 8 tracks. Sorry I errored on Nevermind. Bleached was an independent record that I doubt most people knew existed before. Nevermind was the first big label record Nirvana ever did. It was release in 1991. Later that year Bleached was rereleased. I remember the first time I ever heard Nevermind- it blew me away it was so fresh sounding. Just like Undertow did, just like Nothings Shocking, just like Appetite for Destruction. My bad on the Nevermind- forgive me. BTW I know Janes and Tool had albums before the ones I mentioned but Nothings Shocking and Undertow were the ones that turned me on.

  9. I'd say Joe Horn and Mushin Muhammed seeing just as many doubles as Eric yet being ranked by the same outfit #2 and #3 this past season would tend to "diminish" that argument.

    202242

You mean like Marvin Harrison? Marvins #s are very comprable to Erics as are Terrell Owens- another elite WR. The main difference between Terrell and Marvin and Eric is Terrell and Marvin have great QBs who throw TDs- unlike Eric

  10. No I don't believe that, I just find it really weird when it does so much like it has recently.

    202195

You must be a very young investor. Witness 1998-2000. It was very common for tech stocks to go up 20+ points in a single day. Absolutely crazy! There are $200 stocks that are trading for cents on the dollar now

  11. Actually that is a strategy that many fund managers employ to limit their downside or to lock in large gains.

    202126

Farmers are some of the biggest commodities traders on the market. They buy puts on all their crops and its win-win. Either they hit with the market or they have a banner year with their crops

  12. Or establish a stop-loss.

But either one is just like everything else in the world: a valuable tool if you know what the hell you're doing with it.  It's when you don't - or worse, think you do when you really don't - that you get in trouble.

    202122

I use a 7% stop loss on every trade and I never look back. William Oneil is one wise man. Its all about preservation of capital

  13. I have some background in finance, and you are right: short selling a stock with huge potential is a TERRIBLE idea unless you buy call options also. Let's say that a stock is trading at 50. A call option could give you the right to buy 100 shares of the stock at $80 a share (the strike price), any time within the next 90 days. If the stock goes above 80, the options are "in the money." So a stock is trading at 50, and you think there is an 80% chance it will go down to 12, and a 2% chance it will go to 200. You short sell 100 shares, and you buy call options to cover 100 shares. The short selling position means you own a negative number of shares, so the stock going to 200 would cost you $150 for every share you short sold. But that's okay, because the call option keeps you safe: you only lose the difference between the $50 the stock is currently trading at, and the $80 strike price of the call option; in this case $30 a share. When the stock is at $50, you might be able to buy $80 call options at $0.75 a share, whereas $70 call options might cost you $1.50 a share. But with those $70 strike price options, the most you could lose would be $20 a share instead of $30 a share. It's like paying more for car insurance to get a lower deductible.

The price you pay for call options is based on several factors: the strike price of the option, the time until expiration, and the volatility of the underlying stock. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on options, get options that have a high strike price, a low time until expiration, and that are based on a stock that doesn't change in value very much. The problem with options like those is they are not likely to do you very much good.

    202104

I know what you are saying- you are trying to hedge. But by your logic buying a stock a TERRIBLE idea unless you buy put options also.
