i really hope he get's a big time job soon so i can look forward to him saying/doing more stupid things.

frankly, i hpe you're right, because it's the only reason i could forgive the bills for picking him. i think he's a really good player, but he's a player we didn't need this year. how do the bills not notice that new englands UDFA running backs look like hall-of-famers against our d-line?

ok fine, but you did not factor in who is making the picks for the bills. i'm not unhappy we're picking 3rd, but after watching the bills' 2010 draft class, forgive me for not being all stoked up... nix will probably take a corner -
of course you're right...but yeah you're going to get hammered by all the homers... and you forgot #9...Buddy Nix is god's gift to talent evaluation. i mean, I know it is "too early" to pass judgment on a draft class after 1 season, but the fact that at least 5 of these guys aren't standouts ALREADY, FOR THE BILLS, is a bad sign. I mean, our talent is so poor that we could elect a committee of 4-5 relatively knowledgeable TBD members to draft for the Bills and they wouldn't do any worse. Spiller is the best player, but he is another stupid luxury pick. After that, the only guy who surprised in any sort of positive way is Moats. When you look at how bad our talent was prior to draft day...that is PATHETIC!

i didn't want a loss! but unfortunately we still have an awful lot of losing in front of us...wait till we get one more year to look at nix's first draft class...they're going to look just as bad as brandon/levy/jauron and the rest of the yes-mens'
-
in that case, by official TBD fan logic they should go in the tank RIGHT NOW to prevent the tragedy of picking further down in the draft order. Making the playoffs would be an unmmitigated disaster for this team...because everyone knows you can't win without the highest possible pick, at any cost.

well, it was more exciting than a bills game!

that's funny...i wanted them to win and i am already so disgusted that i don't give a !@#$ if it winds up 50-0. it sucks to hate the team you love, but that's where ralph wilson's hall-of-fame ownership has put us (or me at least...i know some of you homers still worship the guy). -

the kid has his moments but he drops way too many passes...that pgh drop makes ronnie harmon look like roger craig. besides that he needs to quit tweeting pictures of his rooster and complaining god hates him and learn to grow up and make plays. he is no pro bowler. -
finally something we can all agree on.

my premise was that the guy had to single-handedly turn the team around, like...they couldn't have done it if they hadn't picked him. because that's what i am hearing, we hve to lose sunday or we won't get a guy that will turn us around. i'm not going to nitpick your list because i appreciate the fact that you made it. but even IF all the guys in bold matched my premise, that still leaves 70-75% who don't. based on the bills' track record, which group do you think they'll fall in with a top 3 pick.? be honest. when they had a top 4 pick they wasted it on mike williams. i mentioned in my original post that i realize it has happend, but the odds of the BILLS getting that one guy who changes the culture for the next ten years are so tiny you might as well hope they go out with a bang Sunday in new york and let the draft shake out however it will. because the way our front office does it's job, they're more likely to get the next tom brady in the 6th round than they are to get then next donovan mcnabb at #2. it's so goddam obvious i don't even know why it's an argument. -

that quote about MY loser mentality (the one YOU agree with, but it's MY loser mentality...ok yeah, RIGHT) really takes the cake. if you can naively believe that ralph and the beancounters can suddenly build a winning team then i hope santa brought you something nice this year. it's not IMPOSSIBLE for the team to turn a corner because, after all, ralph lucked into a few good teams in between all the sucking. we all know that. but it's insane to think these guys are likely to build a winner suddenly because we picked 2nd or 3rd instead of 8th. there is not one reason to believe that. and yeah i do think the bills will be horrible until ralph dies. i'm not alone and the evidence is on MY side, not yours. i have no problem with playing a few backups, but by your logic we should have been giving up and hoping to lose by the end of october...since that was the point we were eliminated from the playoffs. i want to send jets fans home mad. that would be the more "optimistic" view  please show me evidence that there is "far greater" chance of the bills turning around with a top 3 pick as opposed to a 4 or 6 or 8. i posted the link to the draft history to show you dingleberries that that evidence is spotty at best. why is that so hard to understand? -

i guess we want different things. you want an infinitesimally greater chance at drafting a hall of famer by having your pick of 2 or 3 more guys per round. call me crazy, but just i want the bills to win. what are you going to be wishing for next year at this time when we're 5-10 and everyone is bitching that our top pick isn't producing? same thing i presume? i'm sure you are good guy...your handle is thoner, which i hope is short for marathoner...in that case we have plenty to talk about...but as a bills fan, ...nothing personal. <edited for content> Beerball -

but everyone's point seems to be that we can't possibly improve unless we pick top 3. but the record shows that picking top 3 is not what turns your team around. so we do not gain by losing Sunday. we just lose. again. it's one thing to PREDICT losses by the bills...that is far too easy. it is quite another thing to ROOT FOR THEM out of the misguided belief that it turns your franchise around. what turns your franchise around is seeking out, and paying for, top notch front office talent and then coaches. in that order. unfortunately ralph is neither willing nor able to do this...even if his handpicked yes-men beancounters convinced him this was the smart way to go, he wouldn't know how to hire a good gm anyway. and if he got one by accident he'd run him out of town before he got the job done. -
please go through the nfl draft history for the past 10-12 years and identify all the top three picks (because remember, we just HAVE TO HAVE A TOP 3 PICK THIS YEAR OR WE'LL NEVER BE GOOD!!) who have proven to be studs and transformed bad teams into good ones. i did notice ryan was taken 3rd by the falcons in '08, so there is one check in your column. but as i scroll back through those lists, i see mostly guys who were drafted by sucky teams who have continued to suck. which supports my view that we don't have to have a top3 pick to turn this team around...what we need is guys who can draft. meanwhile there are as many productive players in the 4-8 spots, where we'll wind up drafting if OMYGOD SHEER AND UTTER DISASTER STRIKES and we win sunday. link: http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?season=2009&round=round1 <edited for content> Beerball

yes, that is exactly what i am telling you. where was mike williams drafted? what matters is not your draft position, but that you don't have a bunch of chimps making the picks. which is why we're !@#$ed. sorry. not me. i know we suck dog balls and will continue to do so until we have anew owner..at the earliest. but i still want a win. every week.
-
you talk like those 3 guys are the only reason their teams won. so i'm gonna have to strongly disagree with you too. how does n.e. draft in the 20s every year and destroy us? and before you knee-jerk me with "BRADY!" remember that Matt "who?" Cassell dogged us twice the year he started. It's a TEAM game, and one future hall-of-famer doesn't win the super bowl by himself.

CMON DOC! that's like saying if you get a bj the night before the big job interview, but then they hire someone else, you should turn down a bj before the next interview! what kind of logic is that? I DON'T THINK THE TWO ARE RELATED...especially the way we draft. you play to win the game!

yo yo yo...as usual, you jive turkeys got it all wrong. win or nothing...death or glory...every week..
