I get the punt, but I watched it three times, the ball was snapped with 16 seconds on the play clock. Why not take the penalty? Still going to kick the ball out of the end zone.

This may be a very short thread, but here goes. On the Bills last possession the Bills took over on downs, ran the ball three times to about the Jets 35. Why not try a 52 yard FG? Then the Jets would need a TD. I know I know, their kicker (now cut) was, to put it mildly, struggling, but why chance it? The decision is made to punt, but why not take delay of game penalty? The ball was snapped with 16 seconds on the play clock. After touch back Jets got the ball on the twenty with 12 seconds, should have been 2 or 3 seconds, just saying.

I went to a few games there , just awful.

A number of years ago the Bills were playing a playoff game, starting QB was out, they were losing badly at the half. Back up QB throws pick six to start second half. I started packing up my windsurfing equipment to literally go drown my sorrows. My wife continued to watch and called me back in the house. The rest is history.

The Bills didn’t win because Mosley got injured, they won because they are a better team than the Jets. When Johnson went down Neal stepped in and Bills defense didn’t miss a beat. An offense or defense being reliant on one player is a recipe for disaster. The QB position being the exception, but that’s why the rules protect them more. At the beginning of the game the play calling was odd, but seemed to be working until they shot themselves in the foot repeatedly. That being said the offensive needs to settle down. Since when was rotating tackles a thing? If Ford was struggling and you pull him so be it, but the position that that was the plan is suspect.

I understand, but I seem to recall Kelly being injured and some other guy won a few games. And Mosley played that first drive, Bills were moving ball with ease until fumble.

I’ve seen this sentiment a number of times, good teams over come injuries. I have coaching decision question, why not kick a FG with 12 seconds rather than punt? And if your going to punt why not take delay penalty? I don’t think it was a time out.

I’m not good, got up earlier than usual. I’m more stressed than I was a week ago and a week ago Dorian was 100 miles due east of where I’m sitting. I think this games is important. I look at the schedule and see five games where the Bills play teams that I consider better. If the Bills can sweep Jets and Dolphins they win 10 and make the playoffs. If not the path is a bit harder.
