  1. I love reading this board, you got to be kidding. He forgot more about football than 50 posters on this board combined and you want US run the team?

Unbilleivable You don't read the board if you think that.

Yep!! He has forgotten more than I will ever understand, I dont like Green but we needed a stop gap Wang hopefully will be that guy...

    Well said!

The first question you have to ask with a rebuilding effort is this: did we lose anyone who could help us significantly three or four years down the line? Brad Butler retired, but Nix can hardly be blamed for Butler's decision to abandon football in favor of politics. Aaron Schobel and Terrell Owens were aging players nearing retirement. Very unlikely to be useful in 2013. Whatever young players we may have lost seem like backup quality at best.

The next question you have to ask is, did we gain anyone who can help us significantly three or four years down the line? The answer there is yes as well: Spiller, Troupe, other draft picks, and some free agent signings.

The third question you have to ask is, are we gaining new talent at a fast enough pace for the rebuilding effort to succeed? Every team in the NFL is always losing talent due to retirements, career-ending injuries, aging players not playing as well as they once did, etc. A strategy of "add one good player a year for the next 22 years" won't get you 22 good starters, because the starters you acquired in the early years of that plan will be retired long before year 22.

At least this early in Nix's tenure, it's difficult to determine whether the pace of talent acquisition is fast enough. But at least thus far, the pace of talent acquisition seems pretty good.

Totally agree!!! Teams are not made in one year... As Nix said He started in January, He is moving forward from that date.... So lets see how it goes 2 of our draft picks are on IR already the team can not get thoose picks back...

  2. Not sure if this was talked about yet but, I wasn't at the game but watching on TV.

On Lindell's FG attempt how short was it...CBS didn't bother to show a replay...

I sit on the bills side that endzone lower bowl... I think it hit the L in the BILLS logo... It was a hell of a kick but needed about 5 to 6 yards to clear the cross bar

  3. Spot on. I'm just waiting for someone to agree with me on Marcus Stroud. I watched him closely to see if my views were unwarranted. He's just good enough to be on the field and not good enough to make a difference.

Funny seeing the Bflo airport loaded with Bills fan at 5 am....

I was on the 7:05pm flight last night with Lots of Bills people waiting to get out of town and....Tom Modrak, he looked very upset....

and this guy he sat next to me he was cool and did not have the face paint....Dolphan HE said the fans in Buffalo were brutal but he was cool.....

  4. If the Bills seriously tried a trade to get him back. It would take Eric Wood and a draft pick from Philly to get him. The Bills got the best of that deal big time. Wood wasn't the only draft pick. IIRC, the Bills got Shawn Nelson with an Eagles pick.

Sorry I dont want Peters on this team.... I am glad we got Wood, and I forgot about Nelson nice catch

  5. We need to throw Aaron Rodgers off of his game,

You do know what this means don't you, it means GR8PRKN trudging across the not so frozen Tundra, naked as a jay bird at a key moment in time to break Rodger's concentration.

We have faith in you GR8, unlike the Senator who failed miserably on his last mission in Patriot territory and just sprawled in his seat, drank lots of beer and shoved down hot dogs until he was to fat to move,

It was disgusting, but we are talking about the Senator :bag:

    GO GR8/BILLS!!!

That would be a sight to see the packer fans that I am there with might freak out.. But who cares!!! And Rogers probably would be thrown off his game.

  6. Hate to put it this way.. but.... Raise the ticket prices and you will get a different class of people at your Bills games. I really can't believe how cheap it is to be honest.. Look on ticket master and compare your prices to others in the league and you will see how cheap it really is.

There may be other benefits as well to higher ticket prices.. like maybe a higher profit margin for Ralph may convince him to pay out a higher percentage to free agents. I'm not sure this will be the case but in my mind it is worth a try.

    Well not exactly....

Winning drives ticket prices up on the secondary market.

My tickets for next week at Lambeau are 67.00 bucks each (endzone) .....

  7. Dolphins averaged 3.7 YPC against a team with 1 real LB playing after half time, and players out of position all over the place, and couldn't even close the game out by running it down our throats when they had the chance. He couldn't have played that well.

I was thinking the same thing... But he is starting for another team......

  8. There's a place right downtown on Margaret Street called the Monople that has the Ticket and around five TVs. They have gameday specials for beer and 30 cent wings which aren't actually that bad. Kind of a gloomy darker bar, very fun at night though.

There's another bar called Olive Ridleys's that has lots of TVs but not sure if the Ticket is there. Good bar, though. Decent food.

If these fail, go uptown by the strip mall's and there's always the Ground Round which has a seperate bar and some booths w/ individual TVs. They have the Ticket. Good Luck.

Yeah Great Wings there, they were 10 cents when i went there... I don't know if it is still open but I used to watch a lot of football at Peabody's... Murons...

  9. I have a better shot of that one, but the file is too big to post. If you look at the bottom of the cartoon, in the grass, you will see the artists name, Weil. It was done by my father, Kevin B. Weil. The one Jack took a shot of in the Hall of Fame is the original submission Dad did in late 1959. Once it was approved, he did the home covers from 1960 to 1963/64. He also did artwork inside the magazine, placing the players face shots onto cartoon bodies in various positions. Some of his artwork was used over some of the entrances to the Rockpile. He would get $35 per cover and as a kid I would watch him draw these, since we share the same name, my job was to find where he hid our name every week. He would hide it in the grass, the cleats, jacket fringe etc. For Fathers day this year I contacted the Hall of Fame, they wouldn't let me get the flag, nor could they let me reproduce it, but he did give me the JPEG of the original that they used to create the flag. That was the file I tried to attach, but its too big to load here.

    That is cool! :worthy:
