  1. My family and I go to the race at Infineon Raceway every year (Sears Point, Sonoma, California.).

Tix are $95 a piece x5 tix. It ain't cheap! But we go every year, and are entertained. Something about watching those guys turn right, and left is pretty darn exciting.

With that said, I wouldn't pay $20 to go watch them race at California Speedway, Las Vegas, Chicago, Michigan, Pocono, Kansas, or any "cookie-cutter" type track. IMO they got away from what made them famous, and that was the beating and banging you find at short tracks. Get back to that, and let the drivers fight it out and it will get more entertaining.

Infineon is a great track... Been there many times... Your right though Cali and Chicago both never sell out, I see Vegas getting one of Atlanta's or California race dates

  2. Schobel isn't pulling a favre at all. He's not makign a scene or spectacle, and from all reports, the Bills were aware of what's been going with him. He's nto hanging us out to dry. He's simply taking his time.

Also, for guys that have played ball all their life, when this time of year comes around, football is all they know. Schobel has probably been prepping for football season at this time of year for the last 25 years of his life. Its gotta be tough to simply stop, and it doesn't surprise me that he might get the urge to come back and play 1 more year.

If he does, the defense is better for it.

Ditto Good Post... I hope he comes back...

  3. I just read a story from yahoo that says track officals at IMS (Indy Motor Speedway) say that they are extremely disappointed that 110,000 fans did not show up and buy tickets for the Brickyard 400. They now are saying that they'll lower ticket prices by 25 percent on some seats.

    Three thoughts:

    1. I think this is a trend that will start sweeping across all sports.

    2. Sports people never saw this coming.

    3. Keep lowering ticket prices because they don't match income levels and companies are no longer going to buy them.

I have worked for NASCAR as a contractor for years and every year the attendance has gone down... It is simple really people can not afford it and there biggest sponsors are Banks and Car Companies...

They didn’t not even open the 70,000 seat Super stretch in Daytona for the 4th... The fact is corporate sponsors are down and Corporate spending is way down unsold suites and hospitality tents......

  4. as alum of the great SUNY fredonia, i suggest moving the team back there for no reason other than this quote from the Roch D&C

The Bills moved their camp to Fisher in 2000, and they have not made the playoffs since. It's unlikely there's a correlation between Fisher and their futility, but only Detroit has an equal-length absence from the NFL's postseason. Since bringing their camp here, the Bills are on their sixth head coach (counting Perry Fewell's interim status last year), and their fifth general manager. Nine different quarterbacks have started games, seven men have served as offensive coordinator, only one of their 12 first-round draft picks has played in a Pro Bowl as a member of the Bills. There has been only one season when the Bills won more games than they lost — 9-7 in 2004.

    whaaaat?

Regardless of the location the camp director has the controls....

Fun Camp = No Playoffs..... Chan Camp = Play offs... Maybe not in 2010 but soon

  5. I agree with PTR... The "Fun Camp" is over, I really like the article,, the best I have read on Chan Gailey so far. And I must admit I to believe that he is going to get more out of the talent that we have here. I hope to see 8 wins but we have 2 new systems and a few key holes.

That being said I can not wait to the start of camp, and to see some of the holes filled and the team come together!! GO BILLS

  6. I think we will be a top 12 defense. I feel we will get more pressure on the QB, but not as much as we will eventually need meaning more upgrades next year. The run defense will be improved but it is hard not to improve on that mess from last year.

Well I like to think we will be top 10. However the AFC east will affect that as they all seem ready to have stron Offensive teams. But lets hope your right!!

  7. I just got some inside poop on the Schobel situation from someone we all trust and he says that Schobel is not well-liked in the locker room, which explains why no one is acting like losing him is any big deal. The wild card at play here is money. Apparently this person thinks Schobel won't walk away from a fat paycheck. But Gailey may not want him back because of his lack of commitment so far. Take this as unconfirmed rumor.

    PTR

I remeber CB writing an article a few years back that he sits in the "leaders" seat at the top of the locker room. I think this was after Spikes and Fletcher left. I never been in the locker room but there are apperently 2 seats for the D leaders i wonder who sits in the other? Asn If he is not liked why is he at the top of the pecking order?

Good Info PTR thanks fr sharing...

  8. ESPN Clayton

I am sure most of read this in Clayton's Mailbag but his thoughts were pretty telling to this topic...

Eighteen games might scare players initially because of injuries, but in reality, the veterans will be exposed to injury for only about a quarter or two longer than the current system. In the current four-game preseason, veterans play about six or seven quarters. The extra two regular-season games would add only eight quarters to the regular season, and the league is still maintaining the 20-game format of total games played.

Although there is a downside to an 18-game schedule, I'm for it as long as it allows both sides to reach a labor deal that prevents a lockout. The extra revenue that would go to owners would allow the owners to talk players into a lower percentage player-cost formula without having players take a pay cut.

More regular-season games means larger base salaries for players, and players ultimately can't complain about getting more money.

I tend to agree this will help stop a lockout

  9. Lots of opinions on Mr. Troup...

Who here has seen him play???

    Just sayin... <_<

I have seen him, as I am in FL, and my buddy is a die hard UCF fan (crazy but true) and he says he is one of the bet players he has ever seen.

  10. I have more faith in Meredith being the LT starter as he is not coming off a major injury and proved to be the more reliable player at the end of last season.

I agree that the injury is bad, however Chan seemed to talk like they are both doing really well (Wood and Bell). I think they relly like Bell, I may be wrong, I bet Bell lines up with the first group in camp if he is healthy. However Meredith looks promising on the little video you can see on BB.com
