  1. Sending the GM to scout QBs instead of your scouts is interesting though. Drafting the next QB could be Nix's defining moment as a Bills GM. I suspect he wanted to do the leg work on this one himself rather than trust any of his scouts.

Codemonkey, I agree 100 percent, he is going to make the call (which will be the biggest pick he has ever been involved in) he wants to see it for himself.

    Thank You for the article!!

  2. Eric Wood's development was obviously stunted by his injury and I hope he will develop into one of the top guards in football, but he sucks right now.

He gets no push in the run game and his immobility is increasingly targeted through stunts and interior blitzes on passing downs.

Demetrius Bell is further towards becoming a serviceable lineman at this stage of his career.

 This was the week he was sappose to return. He is WAY ahead of schedule for that injury....

  3. I would venture to say a few of your core guys would be Fred Jackson, Kyle Williams, and Terrence McGee.

I agree , Terrance and Fred have already recived contract extensions.... I would say Kyle is better than Good, he is one of our best,,,

  4. Woo Hoo - as long as they're "good players" in the eyes of the front office I suppose I don't really care that they take up salary cap money and roster spaces but don't contribute anything on the field.

Good Lord - that's the type of attitude that kills us - our willingness to see guys who don't produce in a game stick around because they embody the attitude and leadership the team wants in their players - WTF? If you want a good lockerroom attitude hire a consultant, get some Tony Robbins tapes, try accupuncture but don't give a 31 year old converted linebacker who can't produce a roster spot and $6 million a year - we need players, not guys you keep based on attitude.

We do need players and until we get a lot more with great talent we need to keep marginal to good players on the roster, when we get an excellent palyer we let them go (Spiller Lynch). Kelsays contract is not guaranteed he can be cut at anytime (obviosly his signing bonus is a gimme).

I don't see the logic in cutting a player if you don't have a replacement for him, Who is gonna take his spot Maybin? He is not the best and his pass coverge is poor but he is in there every down

  5. I wonder what Ralph thinks about signing up for an open-ended re-build plan. With a GM that's already retired once no less.

I assume most of Buddys interview for the GM job was about how they planned on rebuilding. That being said Ralh is known a an owner who is involved a lot, that was confirmed by Chan this week and several other coaches. I have to believe they have a "project plan" and they are going to go step by step and see where they are each yea and reevaluate and alter the plan based on performance and draft picks....

Just my thought not saying this is how it is but I can not imagine Ralh is not in the loop

  6. The more I hear Nix talk about this team the more I feel we are going in the right direction. I agree with the lodgic on Kelsay, I wonder who are the other 6 guys he is referring to? I think Donte an G wilson and maybe Bell. That being said I was glad he talked today regardless of why it was a good business decesion.

  7. The plan is pretty much cristal clear to me......

    - Get rid of the non performers....for WHATEVER we can get

    - Work your way to the top of the draft board

    - Figure out who are gamers and who are not

Next to go should be McCargo and Whitner

Whitner does not need to go anywhere, he may not have not performed as a 1st round shoud have but he is better than G Wilson and Scott

idk im still skeptical, we really needed o line and linebacker help and we didnt get any of it in the draft. Im a big fan of spiller and all but i mean at this point (assuming spiller is good) we have crappy wideouts, tight ends, qbs, tackles, and maybe even guards (wood has not looked the same since injury) on the other side, our lbs suck and our d line sucks. So basically we need a whole lot of everything

Did we not draft 2 LB's in the draft this year Moats and Batten....

    Cornell Freaking Green

    AMEN!!

  8. I don't see how the Seahawks took a big gamble. Even if Marshawn gives them nothing, all they gave up was a lousy 4th rounder. This was a BIG win for the Seahawks.

He is an idiot that hit a person with his car and then got busted for pot and a gun...... That makes him a risk..... A BIG RISK

Nice Draft Marv, lots a keepers. I love Marv to death, but this just points to the fact that Ralph pinching pennies and medling continues to lead us down the path of the 1980's Bills.

    Two Words.... TRAIN WRECK

  10. I came home from the Dolphins game feeling ripped off. I came home from the Cleveland last year game feeling ripped off.

Spending money .. tickets, hotels, airfare, food ... and getting nothing.

I agree... I didn't fly home this weekend and last night I was mad at myself, now I am just happy I didnt drop 700 bucks on another losing weekend.... I not sure I will go back this year... Maybe the pats since it is next to Christmas...
