Why do you say that? He was a mid level, mid priced free agent. He performed at a good level. Seemed to be a team guy.
Who lets a Pro Bowl player walk unless they have issues? What are you expecting?
He and Poz are the only two LBs on this team that could even play on a decent defense in the NFL.
Best post on this thread. He was a solid LB not an all pro but solid superbowl ring owner

Thanks man. I think I'm going to give that Cornell BBQ a try.
Its good, You won't be disapointed

Just got assigned chicken skewers for this weekend. Anyone have a good marinade recipe for these?
Chiavettas

You could have Darrelle Revis and Nnamdi Asomugha with Polamalu and Ronnie Lott for your secondary and without a pass rush it's nothing. Having rushers with the right scheme was proven in SB 42 when NYG battered Brady and stopped their high-powered offense.
You draft pass rushers first and then find corners. Kinda like drafting OT's before RB's.
Like Maybin!

I am making pulled pork for the game on Sunday. We are leaving Rochester at 8AM and will probably eat around 11Am. Any thoughts on keeping it warm and or heating it at the game that would not require me to bring a grill.
My buddies usually use something ike this, It is called a cambro... Most resturants have them if you know someone in the bussiness it works really well

Nice to know that I'm the only one who googles "Bills sellouts."
Sunday's game is sold out: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/ (there's a sentence about it after the Stroud story)
However I too am interested in the ticket status of other four games (Detroit, Jacksonville, Cleveland, New England). Any leads would be appreciated.
Im in the FL Market, The news said this am that all of the Bucs games wil be blacked out, espically since the Steelers game did not sell out....

I gotta say I'm extremely disappointed in what Nix / Gailey have done so far...its almost as if Jauron didn't leave and he is still making lame ass decisions. The only thing they got right so far has been Spiller, not an area of need and a luxury pick. Its pretty tough to fail on drafting a player with the 9th overall pick...then again who did the Bills select last year with their #1?
Should the Bills continue on this path of doom I certainly don't trust them to make a selection of a franchise 50 mill QB at this point
What bothers me more is the fact that most Bills fans are in some sort of denial about the whole thing, oh yea give them time...time to F up the entire team. Sorry I'm not buying into this rebuilding crap, I've seen their idea of quality player worth 45 mill, and a RT worth 3 mill a year
I was thinking about this last night after reading about the union meeting. I bet the new CBA prevents 50million dollar wiffs.. As we will have a rookie salary cap in place that will be for a lot less money andshorter contract time. Do you think the bills were waiting for this knowing that the team was going to struggle? I'm not making the assumtion its just a though an knowing the Qb class is better this year than last.... Just a hunch.

My tailgate is great... So I dont really care what food they serve, I just get the beer, I only wish I could get one at the end of the 3rd quarter to make me feel a little better when we fall apart in the 4th....
-
Nice to see some positive press!!

I really enjoyed the read. We are rebuilding an they are definetly evaluating the talent. I think there are some other things that fans an reporters are not privy to but that being said this article is spot on.

Today's paper
"For the record, the Bills don't have to pay Edwards his full salary because he has less than four years' experience. The Bills paid him for three games, for $291,176. He would have made $1.65 million for a full season."
I wonder what if the Jags have to pay the balance?

Chump change. They spend more on lap dances.

Can you imagine 54k in one night at Tally Ho???

I could see them taking the top rated Tackle in the draft in the top five and grabbing a QB in the second or trading back into the bottom of the first for a QB....San Diego did that (well similar) grabbing LT and Brees number one and number two....and yes I know they picked up Rivers but last time I checked Brees had won a SB and the Chargers aren't looking that great....even though Rivers is a very good QB.....
I totaly agree! I just dont see us taking a QB with a top 5 pick unless it is a Matt Stafford type tallent, the picks 3-6 from 2010 say that they will look hard at a "player" from a small school. "We know who is at Michigan, tell me who is playing at North Central Michigan"

What are the chances that Edwards plays the Bill Oct. 10th and absolutely lights us up?
As a trent guy....
I don't see it unless they play in the feild house
-
I'll take the under. I can't believe anyone here believes that was the case with Edwards.
I would have untill his Bell was rung... And after the Pats last year, but then he fell apart with the rest of the team...
-
Correct. However he is on the roster as a Vet and will get his entire years pay if he had additional years on his contract they would not pay.... Which to your post would be "the balance" and therfore no more $$$$
Don't spend your 500k to quick trent....

I wonder if the coaching staff realizes the reason Brohm has looked so good in practice is because he's been going up against the Bills' first string defense. ... Even Rob Johnson would look good in that setting.
Funny!! I was thinking that when I see all the people saying lets see what he can do, but then the coaches see him every day, maybe its the competition
-
Me too. I like Bulaga, just not at #9.
I think the Bills did too and that is why they were trying to get back in to the first....
-
He was released for two reasons. One, he just flat out sucks beyond words. Two, it ties into number one. No way Ralph Wilson was going to pay Edwards $1.6 million for the rest of this season to hold a clipboard. He gets released, they bring back Levi Brown and Ralph pays the backup and the 3rd QB league minimum. He saves a million bucks by releasing Edwards. They aren't going anywhere this year. Only thing they are doing is fighting for the 1st pick in the 2011 draft. What's the difference if Brohm or Brown has to play? No difference at all. Why waste a million bucks?
Wrong....
Trent's Salary is 500K of which he will see every penny of it he was on roster at the start of the season as is a Veteran... I always love the "Ralph is Cheap"
-
Sorry chief...
Player contracts are not guaranteed; teams are only required to pay on the contract as long as the player remains a member of the team. If the player is cut, or quits, for any reason, the balance of the contract is voided and the player receives no further compensation.
Correct. However he is on the roster as a Vet and will get his entire years pay if he had additional years on his contract they would not pay.... Which to your post would be "the balance" and therfore no more $$$$

It defenitley sends a message to the team!! I always suported trent but it is time to move on
Buffalo ATL. Nice call not shocking but nice call
-
And we would have gotten what, from whom, exactly?
They shopped him, got laughed at, and cut him. I'm fine with it.
Totaly agree.... Let him go out an see what he can find, we are moving on
-
By comparison Tom Brady floats a strike into Randy Moss with 4 Bills defenders around him. But that's what makes him Tom Brady.

Don't forget about the Ref, sheilding Byrd... But I dont think it would have made a difference...

Basically Schopp is pissed because Gaily just ruined a month's worth of shows bitching about why Gailey won't bench Trent and put Fitz in.
