  1. I think you're right in this case. For example, you can have 2 guys with 60% completions and have one who throws very accurately but takes a ton of chances in coverage and down the field, and another who isn't accurate but has a great O-line and completes a lot of less risky passes, or has a great RAC receiver...

I wish more people felt this way.

During the Edwards vs. Fitz debates people would constantly use Trents comp% as reason for his superiority... I always felt Fitz was better. I got my point across by showing how Fitz doubled the production of TO and Lee when he played as opposed to Trent and that was more important that Trents comp %.

  2. Actually, in context, stats show most of those things.

I'll take my eyes over stats everyday. I'm just not a fan. Stats are quantitative but my question is always why? If the QB had a bad day, why? Was the line bad? Were there drops? Was the QB inaccurate and lost? I don't believe stats can tell you these things.

  3. Kyle Orton career completion percentage - 58.5%

Ryan Fitzpatric career completion percentage - 59.9%

    ok

    Again, I respectfully disagree.

I know the stats. I just don't care for them.

Stat's don't show ball placement. Stat's don't show checkdowns vs. deep outs to receivers. A lot go into them. I believe Orton is a smart, accurate QB, that's capable of getting this very talented team to the playoffs. I believe that every team is only going to play one safety deep because they don't respect EJ (and why should they?). I believe Orton legitimizes our offense in a way EJ can't. I respect opinions that differ from mine, but that's how I see it.

  4. He's only 31 too. Quarterbacks older than that have turned out to be real solutions for teams over a several year period.

    I'm concerned about this season.

In the past 5 years all new QBs who are successes have shown more than EJ. EJ isn't the worst bust ever like Blaine Gabbert but he is the next Locker. Im just hoping we don't give him the amount of time Locker has received.

  5. No, it's not good enough.

And, how do you know that's his ceiling?

It is my opinion. He has scatter shot accuracy and prefers to check down to often. Again, it is my opinion -- but in this era he's had 13 games and 0 over 300 yards...that's concerning.

If he doesn't play well against Houston its not time to sacrifice the season, it's time for Orton.

Ok, what's the magical solution? Washed up, inconsistent Kyle Orton? There are no hall of fame QBs sitting in free agency, waiting for a call. Do you propose a trade?

Give me your solution. Right now, give me the solution.

Yeah, Kyle Orton. Orton utilizes his receivers and isn't afraid to throw the ball. I believe that with our talent and Ortons willingness and talent that he could generate more production than EJ. I firmly believe that. I'm a big Orton fan actually.
