knox is not above average....he is simply an average recieving TE and a below average blocker.
the highest rating i have seen for knox is around 13th best....yet he is the 7th highest paid AAV
i've seen rating as low as 20's......he's in nobody's top 10.....after him there is garbage at TE2 & TE3.
at least at WR you have a top 5 elite WR1A in Diggs, WR2 or 3 in davis and three WR3's in Shakir, Harty & Sherfield....you have quality depth.....could we use a WR1B ??....sure.......i'd rather invest in the Oline....thats still a weakness...other than a mediocre Dawkins....you have nothing
josh covers alot of weaknesses....we are so close and yet so far

So tell me... if we flipped mahomes to this roster and Josh Allen to KC roster? what team would win? a Mahomes with Bills roster or a Allen with KC roster?
JOSH !! behind the KC Oline and with Kelce ......josh would win !!
in the infamous 13 seconds game josh played his azz off, had mahomes beat (plus kc had tyreek in that one)
C/ATT YDS TD INT RTG
Josh 27/37 - 329 yards 4td/0 int -136.0 passer rating
Mahomes - 33/44 - 378yards 3td/ 0 int 123.1 passer rating
not his fault Frazier played soft and predictable....this is a team game

Sports Illustrated NFL Insider Albert Breer now thinks there’s a chance Hopkins will be cut by the Cardinals.
” potential suitors believe the Cardinals will wind up cutting their 30-year-old star receiver because his age and his contract make him hard to move.”
Breer also mentioned that one team has been given permission by the Cardinals to talk with Hopkins, but the identity of the team wasn’t revealed.

#1- KC didnt win this SB because they got rid of Tyreek hill. they would have won it with him. Besides, he's not their #1 target, kelce is.
Tyreek cap hit with miami for 2022 was $6.5 mil and will be $12.8 for 2024 both bargains. long term starting in 2025 is another story.
the other KC WR's shuster & scantling were mediocre. what KC shows is the value of investing in the Oline & TE.
#2- Minny should absolutely pay top $ for jeffereson no matter who the QB is. he is elite top 5. i'd tag him.
#3- cincy has an interesting dilema. they have 3 really good WR's. you probably can only afford to keep 2. i'd let whoever demands the most $ go/trade if possible. again, 5th year option then tag.
the goal of the draft should be instant starter and pro bowl talent. worry about the second contract later.

Does anyone really think he is coming here? if buffalo was in the lead and they spoke to his rep about money they obviously could not come to an agreement, that is not going to change. sorry but I think its about 1% chance.... Beane has said we are not signing anyone to a contract over 2 million before the draft. Just accept Gabe stone hands as your #2 this year

oh....von miller says hello

BPA is and should be a big thing
before the draft , you should have a big board, rated strictly for talent from 1-300. you've had months to prepare it, on draft day there should be zero discussions on the order based on talent.
before the draft, you should prepare for various scenarios of who you would pick at #27 & #59, etc........whether trading up, down or staying put based on talent AND need is the best way to go. hundreds of scenarios pre rehearsed.
LUCK is when PREPARATION meets OPPURTUNITY

What it Would Cost Cardinals to Release DeAndre Hopkins
https://www.si.com/nfl/cardinals/analysis/cost-arizona-cardinals-release-deandre-hopkins
Cut (Pre-June 1)
Dead money: $21.07 million
Cap savings: $8.91 million
Cut (Post-June 1)
Dead money: $10.53 million
Cap savings: $19.45 million

assuming the draft fell that way
the bills should take one of those OT's
Anton Harrison Oklahoma
Darnell Wright Tennessee

maybe dorsey doesn"t utilize the TE much because Knox is mediocre at best and the other TE's are garbage
knox has average hands and below average blocking....he's nothing special

i'm a big fan of Dhop.......he's a legit superstar WR still at his age....getting him for $10mil/yr or less would be a steal and would have big impact on team.
hard to showcase shiny new toy WR's when josh is running for his life or flat on his back.
WR#2 targets 5-10 per game ??
OL blocks 60 plays per game
KC invests heavily in OL and has a revolving door at WR.
Bills invests heavily in DL and looks for scrap heap value on OL.
Protect josh or we will never be a super bowl winning team....just a wannabe Top 5 or so

BPA at either WR or TE....but i hope its TE.
TE Rankings
#1 - Kelce KC
#2 - Kittle SF
#4 - Goedert Phi
#23 - Knox Buf
notice a trend ?....3 of the final 4 teams who played in Conference Championship games have a Top TE
TE is the biggest/hardest mismatch in coverage
TE is by far the weakest position group on Bills. the only group Beane hasn't added to this offseason.

not an easy decision for beane
do you want to spend $6-8mil/yr or more on dhop or 1 really good player
or sign 3-4 veteran free agents at $2/mil each....
-
he'd make a good swing tackle...had starts at both sides last year
about as good as dawkins and way better than quisenberry and brown.
if at $1.9 mil .....a no brainer

-
maybe dhop and his agent are helping to force his way out by refusing to renegotiate his contract with any team interested in trading for him and spreading these stories ?
if a free agent....that could favor kc a little as they are likely to pay more than bills and he would immediately be their #1 WR......in buff he'd be #2WR
-
lawson made $1.2 mil last yr
anything between $1.2 - 1.9 for 2023 is a no brainer
-
bills never met with 1st round pick Elam
but did meet with 2nd round pick Cook
(could be intentional strategy)

are you kidding me....look how KC values Oline compared to Bills
3 legit All Pro's best in league // not the 10th alternate bullchit to pro bowl like bills
you put that in front of Josh Allen and he would be the undisputed best QB in league
TE - Travis Kelce (#1) All Pro // Knox #20
LT - Orlando Brown Jr (#10) 4x Pro Bowl // we have dawkins (#24) alternate
LG - Joe Thuney (#2 ) All Pro // we dont have a guard in the top 40
C - Creed Humphrey (#1) All Pro // morse #23 alternate
RG - Trey Smith (#12) // we dont have a guard in the top 40
RT - Andrew Wylie (nothing special and they let him go) // we have Spencer Brown ranked #73

since everyone else is ranked lower than 27, you need to be prepared for the idea that all are gone. And you don't like 35, and lets say your next olineman is ranked 46 on your board. Do you take 35? or take a different position?
i doubt all 5 of those OT's are gone by #27, but its certainly possible.
if i'm hell bent on filling a need at OT and #35 is all thats left, then im trying to trade down, pick up draft capital
or more realistically....i'm staying at #27, taking BPA and filling my 2nd or 3rd need...could be WR, TE.....or even a LB or RB if that Bijon falls
theres just too many possibilities to cover them all.......i'm just doing everything possible to not reach to fill a need based on my board.

The number 1 reason we haven’t won a Super Bowl yet is our defense. I’d like to think that it was mostly Fraizer and now he’s gone. But it’s not the Oline. We can’t stop the Chiefs and we can’t stop the Bengals. That’s the truth. It’s not glamorous and it’s not the popular opinion but it’s reality. We are fine on the Oline. We couldn’t even hold a lead in a playoff game for 13 seconds. Our offense has been the best thing about this team during this run.
i'll go defense #1 for 2021 but not 2022......agree totally on leslie frazier....he played soft and predictable vs kc 13 seconds. last year was more to do with injury / health vs cincy. daquan jones, von miller and hyde were out completely. poyer and tre white were not at 100%.....thats half the team right there. compared to the offense, our defense is loaded with talent.

I agree with you. But there is a logical followup question "can I improve the line as much with pick 59 as I can with pick 27?" The consensus top 3 OTs (Skoronski, Paris Johnson, Broderick Jones) will be off the board at 27. If we had pick #11 and were discussing taking one of those three or an LB, it would be a no brainer. There is even a chance Darnell Wright is off the board at 27. So do we take the fifth best OT( Beregon or Mauch) or best guard Avila or Torrence, or take the top LB available and hope Beregon or Mauch are available at 59 (and further hope they are better than Spencer Brown).
my answer would be.....you stay true to your board......you put the scouting work in before the draft and rank the players from 1 to 300.....the day of the draft comes and its pretty simple....you take BPA or get cute and try to trade down a little...or go up and get the guy who is BPA and fills your #1 need.....you do not reach more than 1 or 2 spots to fill a need. lets take this hypothetical big board that the bills brain trust could put together:
#8- peter skoronski OT
#19- paris johnson OT
#20- darnell wright OT
#24- anton harrison OT
#26- broderick jones OT
#35 - dawand jones OT
so, at #27 i have no trouble taking any of those OT's except #35.......obviously i have no idea who else might be avail at #27
right now today, Oline is the weak link on this team and needs to be fixed. if you start forecasting our needs for 2024, then you can justify using a 1st round pick on every position group except QB
Jordan Phillips back with Bills 1 year deal
in The Stadium Wall

Ten days after he made an official visit to the Buffalo Bills’ facility, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips signed a one-year contract to remain with the team Thursday.
Phillips’ re-signing gives the Bills eight defensive tackles under contract entering this month’s draft. Top four are projected to be Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, Tim Settle and Phillips.
