How many great college QB's came from teams with no talent around them? How would you know?

There are many people who were good coordinators, but made lousy head coaches, see Greg Williams, the Mangenious and Jim Zorn for example and probably Charlie Weiss. The problem is that everyone assumes that you need to be a head coach to be successful (including those coordinators).

That's part of the problem with the Bills. They target specific players, but instead of trying to move up to get them, they wait and then end up taking a poor consolation prize.

T. Smith and Burris weren't that special. A. Smith was only here for 4 years and he sucked the last year. His best year was with the Pats. Flowers was a complete bust, in fact the whole 2000 draft was a bust. If you look at the picks beyond the first across all of those drafts, you'd be hard-pressed to find more than a handful of impact players. For what it's worth, the 1992 draft wasn't all that great either. Fina was the first pick.
