  1. i'd like to save some money for a decent C in FA
  2. mckelvin not ready? Greer is long gone, and Corner and Youboty will be fine nickel and dime corners.
  3. Mike Williams was the only 1 st round bust in the last 7 years. 2008 McKelvin is awesome 2007 Lynch, best player on the team 2006 Whitner is a decent player who we may have reached for but by no means a bust 2005 no 1st 2004 Evans good player, Ok losman sucks, so thats 2 2003 McGahee, total jerk-off but not a bust, did ok here 2002 Williams - bust 2001 Clements, very good player. Our screw ups are more with free agency i think.
  4. if check down mode scores 30 points on the road he can check down all damn day!! Reed is very important b/c he is the best Wr we have at finding soft spots in coverage, he essentially does the work that a decent TE would do, unfortunately we don't have one of those so that role falls to Josh. Also for whatever reason Trent just seems a lot more comfortable with Reed in there, his struggles and Reed's injury happened at the same time, and while i'm not saying thats the sole reason, it certainly played a large role in Trents midseason struggle.
  5. don't underestimate Josh Reed; all trent's problems started once he got hurt, he comes back against KC, its good old trent, until he gets hurt the next week. I'd be happy with evans, reed, johnson, and of course, a new TE.
  6. i agree completely, we need to draft a DE #1, i'd say a C in rd 2, and as far as a QB and TE i'd prefer to get a free agent. The QB i prefer is Jon Kittna, good enough to win games, bad enough not to threaten trent's starting status unless he really sucks. As far as TE, no real good FAs, but how about trading for a guy like Heath Miller; he's due to ebe a free agent in 2 years and they are grooming Spaeth to be the starter. I'd say we could get him for a #3 this year asnd maybe a #4 next year.
  7. if philly misses the play offs they may fire Andy Reid; i'd be all about getting him
  8. i like orapko but i think mike williams is still too freash of a wound.
  9. i agree cassell is completely overrated, i'd much rather have trent
  10. mackwould be good but not as early as we're picking; i'd say orapko then trade up into late 1st and grab mack.
  11. who would be our pass rushing OLB, i don't see any Cornelius Bennetts or Darryl Talleys on the roseter?
  12. once i read this post i got to thinking about o-linemen drafted by buffalo in the last 5 or 6 years. In 2002 we picked the franchise left tackle who turned out to be the biggest bust ever; although that selection was mitigated 2 years later by signing an undrafted TE and turning him into a 'pro bowl' left tackle, 2008 not withstanding. 2003 1) McGahee 2) Kelsay 3) Crowell 4) McGee not too bad a draft 2004 1) Evans 1b) Losman 3) Anderson 4) Euhus thanks a lot Donahoe 2005 2) Parrish 3) Everett 4) King this guy built the Steelers?!?!?! 2006 1) Whitner 1a) McCargo 3) Youboty 4) Simpson not as good as we initially thought but not toobad 2007 1) Lynch 2) Pozlusny 3) Edwards 4) Wright pretty impressive 2008 1) McKelvin 2) Hardy 3) Ellis at least our 1st rounder is good In six drafts not one Olineman taken in the 1st four rounds, while i'm no Kiper or McShay that is unprecedented, nobody does that! Even when we were solid in the 90s we drafted guys like John Fina just to have depth. The most impressive guy we've drafted in the last six years is Brad freaking Butler!! While some teams have been ablet o go late round or FA to build there line, clearly our personell staff is not that good; we need to rebuild from the inside out. Outside I love our corners and our WRs have potential; but if you cant protect the QB or rush the passer what difference does it make.
  13. if we would have traded up to get Mangold instead of McCargo, this would be a whole different season, that kid is an absolute stud.
  14. as far as the that 1st miami game, what about the decision to start a clearly injured McGee over Leodis who looks like he'll be a lockdown corner for us for the next 10 years(or until his rookie contract runs out i.e. Clements, Winfield)
  15. while i'm no expert on head injuries i'm inclined to agree; its a groin injury, albeit a fairly serious one, and with the way the season is going, as much as i may want to see him get reps and end 2008 on a good note, it may be best to start fresh in 2009. Here's another theory, and GOD I hope i'm right, Ralph is going to be firing jauron and encouraged him not to play edwards since he's just going to be learning a new offense in 2009 and there'e no use risking further harm under a lame duck coach. Well maybe thats just wishful thinking.
  16. i thnk jon kittna will be released by detroit, he's not a big name and not really that great but he's certainly an upgrade over jp and hasenough experience to tutor trent and maybe win a couple games if, i mean when trent goes down. the one FA i really want is Matt Birk but that's a pipe dream, Kellen Winslow is a big time talent but he's always hurt and kind of a jerk off. I think we will have to draft a guy like Coffman or Travis Beckum and start them immedietely b/c there isnt a lot out there TE-wise. As far as WRs i think we'll be the same; i'm a big Reed fan but he's best in the slot. i think Roscoe isnt really up to being a significant contributor at WR, but i like what i've seen of Steve Johnson and he's one of the few reasons i'm going to watch these last 2 games. Hardy sucks, but he'll be given some time.
  17. no way i'd give up a #1 or trent. trent's only 25 and has a lot of upside, mark my words next year's back up to trent will be . . . . jon kittna
  18. if dick is back he won't fire anybody, thats not his style, the reason he was officially let go in chicago was b/c he wouldnt fire his OC John Shoop. Ralph needs to bite the bullet and fire jauron, a perfect replacement would be Shottenheimer, he'd give Marshawn the ball 25-30 times even when the defense knows its coming and it will still work. I still cant believe jauron put the ball in the incompetent hands of jp vs our pro bowl RB, pure idiocy!
  19. imho we have not drafted an OL in rounds 1-4 since williams in 02 that is why we suck!! name one other team on such a streak!
  20. i con cur jp should have stayed in canada last week, maybe the argos could use a 3rd stringer
  21. i'll take crowell back, but robert royal makes tim euhus look like tony gonzalez!!
