  1. I'll add #7: 5 OL from the Gailey era are still on the team. Make it work Marrone.
  2. I agree. SageAgainsttheMachine said that Benjamin's upside is Vincent Jackson whereas Sammy's upside is Fitzgerald and I think that's a great way to look at this - one will be elite and one will be great.
  3. If you can't understand the difference between the sports you just mentioned and an NFL QB then you need to think harder: What do bowling, darts and basketball all have in common? A stationary target. I can sit here and practice shooting into my garbage can all day 500x's a day and get really good at it - to the point where I could probably close my eyes and still get it in b/c it all becomes muscle memory. It's a completely different animal the second someone starts moving the garbage can on me.
  4. screw the Jets - crap owner; crap GM; crap fans; don't even have their own stadium; don't even play in the state they represent. mickey mouse franchise.
  5. I don't know about the long term answer - if 2-3 years is long-term I'd say Orton may very well be good enough (and still young enough) to give us solid production for 2-3 years. The comparison people make to Fitz is a fair one, but at the same time Orton has a better arm than Fitz so that's a bit reassuring. Also, with Fitz, he always seemed to make that ONE critical mistake in a game that just screwed us over. I swear Fitz was an unlucky SOB many times. Orton appears to win despite his turnovers b/c he just keeps throwing it downfield. Fitz couldn't do that as well. This is still a small sample size for Orton in buffalo though but Orton has a better track record than Fitz did. Orton has already won in this league whereas Fitz had never won in this league. So at this point I'm more confident in Orton than I was with Fitz. At this point in time, Orton can become our younger version of Carson Palmer: A statue with a good arm on a team with weapons on offense and a great defense. They'll never be top 5-8 QB's in this league, but they're certainly good enough to win you 10 games.
  6. wow, good stat. Is it too soon for me to bump the Cam Newton is a bust thread from 2 years ago? Cam Newton looked like a 3rd string QB yesterday.
  7. I feel like vomiting. I feel like im watching a bills game w louisville Soooooooooo... Who had this game at zeros going into the half?
  8. Didnt make a difference w EJ at qb either. Almost Every run play car runs looks different. That FSU TD was so lucky it hurts. Theyll come back now prob LMFAO!!!!! Did someone just watch what happened in fsu game?
  9. Maybe NH should watch CAR to learn how to call run plays that dont always go up the middle
  10. We'll see. Benjamin has had a veteran QB throwing him the ball all season. Sammy had EJ for 4 games and sammys numbers are just as good if not better. The year comment is what got me.
  11. Michael Irvin just called Benjamin his rookie of the YEAR. Lolol. What a clown. I wonder how many lines of coke he did prior to that statement.
  12. I hate these teams - theyve both done me dirty this yr. theyll probably tie.
  13. This thread is getting out of control. Compare YPA and compare completion %. One has top 10 numbers and the other is bottom of the barrel in NFL. Convo should end there really. And then go and look at red zone #'s. Preferrably while drinking a glass of chianti
  14. While i feel its way too premature to have this firing NH discussion, i like the concept of continuously evaluating every aspect of your team. Waiting until the end of the season to do so may be too late.
  15. This. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. The Baltimore Ravens? Look how that worked out for them..
  16. To my untrained eye, Chan made chicken salad out of chicken s***. Our WR depth under Gailey consisted of: Ruvell Martin, Aiken, Hagan, Donald Jones, David Nelson, N. Roosevelt, Easely, TJ Graham, Brad Smith and an unknown Stevie Johnson (in 2010). Gailey made Stevie into a 1,000yd WR. Gailey developed Chandler. He turned Ryan Fitzpatrick from a nobody into a 3,500 - 3800 yd passer. He eventually found the formula and made CJ Spiller into one of the most dynamic RB's in the NFL. Also, there are still 5 OL from the Gailey era that are on this roster - so if Marrone can't figure it out soon enough with the OL situation, maybe he can put his ego aside and just mimic his predecessor. With our current offense Gailey would make lightning bolts come out of his ars. Like others mentioned however, Gailey was never able to bring in a D-coordinator worth a damn and those 2010 - 2012 Bills teams had epically bad defenses that the offense was simply never able to overcome. That's what did him in. IMO Gailey was the best offensive mind we've had in Buffalo in a long, long time.
  17. We may have to. At least we have EJ/Orton locked up through next season (ej through 2016).
  18. Agreed. We would be better served to use that 2nd round pick on an OL or TE or LB or like they say, you can never have enough CB.
  19. Hughes has been one of the greatest acquisitions in recent memory. Sheppard has since left the Colts and is in Miami now continuing to suck. We need to resign both.
