The difference is Tomlin has never had a losing season with crap at QB like a shot big Ben, Mason Rudolph, Mitch Trubisky, Pickett, etc. To me Steeler fans are blaming the wrong person. Having seen them all I would say Bruce is one, OJ is 2. Interesting tidbit with Barkley chasing the rushing record, OJ still holds the single season rushing yards per game as he got his 2000 in a 14 game season. In 73 he averaged 143 yards a game, still the best ever, 10 yards per game better than second place, the legendary Jim Brown. That record has stood for over 50 years now, that's saying something. He also has the 6th best yards per game season in 75. For further perspective, to equal OJs per game average in 73, someone in a 17 game season would have to rush for 2,432.7 yards in a season.

Not sure what metric you are using for 7th ranked defense. Seems like were 11th in points given up and in the bottom third in yards given up.

I hate the delayed blitz, guy starts 6 yards from the line of scrimmage and usually arrives a step or two late.

Everyone knows about our struggles against the run, but I looked at stats and we're in the bottom 25 percent in passing yards given up, not a good combination for the playoffs when all the teams you play will have winning records.

If Goff can put up his stats, Kelly would do well in todays rules. Kellys arm strength vastly superior to Goff. Kelly didnt play in era of cant hit QB in the head, cant land with your weight on the QB, can ground ball out of the tackle box, cant go low on QB. Kelly would do really well today. When I look at a guy like Goff, I think he wouldn't of lasted 5 years in the 70s or 80s or 90s.

I could see about the whole draft going to D. Beane has to sign Shakir and Rousseau long term. If he can resign Cooper and Hollins to friendly contracts that would be great. Von is as good as gone. Jones doesnt have much left in the tank. Douglas is getting old for a corner. AJE will be on his last year next year. I could see the first 4-5 picks being, DE DT CB S and possibly another S for depth.
