  1. WAS MARSHAWN LYNCH ARRESTED IN L.A.? Posted by Mike Florio on February 15, 2009, 7:30 a.m. EST The title to this article is technically incorrect; there should be no question mark. Marshawn Lynch recently was arrested in Los Angeles. The question is whether it was the same Marshawn Lynch who runs with the football for the Bills, and who on at least one occasion has driven recklessly on the streets of Buffalo. Click this lick, insert the name “Marshawn Lynch,” and follow your nose. You’ll find on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department web site that a man named “Marshawn Terrell Lynch” was arrested February 11, 2009 on a felony charge by the Culver City police department. “Marshawn Terrell Lynch” is described as being six feet tall and weighing 220 pounds. His listed date of birth is April 2, 1986. The Bills’ employee in question also is named “Marshawn Terrell Lynch.” He is officially listed in the 2008 NFL Record & Fact Book as 5′11″ and 215 pounds. The only noticeable difference? The Lynch who plays for the Bills was born on April 22, 1986. So is it the same guy who was busted and then released less than two hours later on $35,000 bond? That’s what we’re trying to find out. I just now picked this up on another wed site ....... I still think it is a hoax (about our Marshawn Lynch) I hope anyway......
  2. There is a strong rumor going around about Marshawn Lynch being arrested..... I can not find verification that this is true. The site given in another blog could be or could not be a hoax at this point in time. It is hard to say right now. But it does smack of it being a hoax..... Personally I believe it to be a hoax. NOTHING but nothing is being said on the Internet from a reputable source. If this were true, all the media sports sites would be loaded with it. There is no mention of it anywhere. This makes me think the whole thing is nothing more than a hoax... If nothing comes out on the wires by tomorrow we will know it is a hoax for sure. The incident supposedly happened last Wednesday... I will not get all that excited till I know it really happened. If it did however, the Bills are further up ***** creek then they already are with lack of talent....
  3. If we did make that trade we would have to get their one and their two pick at least. Do you think that would make a good trade ?
  4. At position #11 I hope the will draft the best athlete left on the board in a position of need for the Bills. Who that will be is anyone guess at this point in time. Mr. Wilson himself will influence that first decision. He has stated we need more talent on offence. The best athlete at #11, I feel on offense is TE Pettigrew. He would give the Bills the big target they really need. He is a good blocker, has great hands and has great ability to separate even though he is not really fast. If Tom Modrak who is now in the inner circle and incharge of F. A. and the draft has the very final decision will he necessarily go Offense with the very first pick. After all there are several TE's the Bills could pick up in rounds two through three.? If DT B.J. Raji, DT, BostonCollege were still available how could you possible pass him up. I do doubt however he will be available. Line Backer, Aaron Curry, LB, WakeForest is another the Bills could not pass up.... WR Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech really would look good in a Bills uniform but he too most likely will be long gone....but you never know The Bills really need a big time player at DE..... there are several as of right now. The combine and the talking heads will influence us as to the order of the best DE's and olb/de's. Their real heights, Weights, Speed etc will be coming out during the combine. Yet we all know the Bills need to up grade the D-line badly with depth. Our DE's are aging and are no where near what we need for a playoff team. One more good DE and or DT would really help. The question is also who would provide the most impact? A offensive player or defensive? My choice right now is defense over the long haul. TE Petigrew over the short haul. Da Bills are going to find it very difficult making the playoffs next year. They do not have enough talent as of right now. If Wilson gets some really good F.A.s things could change. They will do the best they can in the draft. I feel they will actually go Defense with a DE with the first pick. You can take your choice of several who may be available In the 2nd round they will go for a TE... again there are several who look pretty good right now. The combine will make that decision easlier In the 3rd round a Center if they did not get one in F.A. or a OLB if they did not get one in F.A. Free agency will determine which way they lean in the draft to fill other positions of need ....... Lets hope da Bills surprise us with some solid selections in F.A. It will be a stepping stone for a stronger club which lacks depth. I do not know about you, but I am getting tired of the Bills not making the playoffs year after year. I hate having a team that is only mediocre year after year.
  5. There are a number of players the Bills would love to draft @ 11 .... But who would make the most impact or difference maker the soonest? Here is a short list of players who could definitely help the Bills. Some will be gone before the Bills draft. But if all were available when the Bills draft who would make the most impact the soonest to help the Bills..... Players My opinion 1. WR Crabtree.................................. Most likely will be gone when the Bills draft but would look good in a Bills uniform 2. ILB Curry...................................... He looks to be the best line backer in the draft and a difference maker. Again most likely to be gone 3. DT Raji......................................... Wouldn't he and Stroud look good side by side together....A difference maker for sure 4. DE Brown...................................... Bills need the best DE they can get as soon as possible. Is he the right man however 5. DE Orakpo.................................... A excellent DE. Will put pressure on the QB & let the whole defense play better 6. ILB Mauluga.................................. Maybe the best MLB in the draft and would improve the Bills defense against the run and pass 7. DT Jerry....................................... Moving up on the draft charts.... but is he good enough for #11 ? 8. CB Jenkins................................... The best CB in the draft. But do the Bills really want another CB at # 11 ? 9. DE Johnson.................................. Has it all going for him but there is a question of heart and desire. Would the Bills risk taking him at # 11 10. DE / OLB Maybin........................ A dynamite player moving up the charts fast. Better at OLB, plays with great desire and very fast. Decent size. 11.TE Pettigrew................................. Best TE in the Draft. Only lacks great speed. Separates very well from defender. Runs great routes. Good Size 12. C Mack ...................................... Be all pro for 10 years he is that good. Would solitify the O-Line making everyone look a lot better. Big Upgrade 13. WR Maclin .................................. Very fast ..A # 1 receiver in the making...Damn good WR now... 14. OG Robinson............................... Best OG in the draft. Has it all going for him and will make all pro in the future 15. MLB Laurinaitis ........................... Great MLB, he would improve the Bills run and pass defense. Good character That is my run down on who is available. Who the Bills take will depend on what happens in Free Agency and who gets selected ahead of them. Mr. Wilson is highly dissatified with the Offense and lack of talent on that part of the team. Our receiving corps still lacks the Big good receiver we wanted in last years draft. We desperately need a big TE but do we need him at #11 ?, when there are a few others who will be available in rounds 2 and 3. A Center on offense is badly needed also. There are several in the draft who would look good in a Bills uniform and all would upgrade what we had last year. A improved Center will solitify the whole O-line and make others even better especially in the run game and in the passing game stopping those DT's. Every championship team needs a great D-line. The Bills are aging at DE and do not put anywhere enough pressure on the opposing QB. The Bills really need a impressive Pass Rusher. Someone who will consistently put pressure on the QB. This can come from DE's, DT's and LB's. I hope they can get the Best pass rusher available to them at #11......We need more quality talent in the front 7 and getting a great player there will help in the long run. The Bills could then consentrate on positions of need elsewhere in the draft....... But again they really need a impact player with their 1st pick .... Them Thar Be My Thoughts.... Who in your opinion would be the player the Bills should draft to make the biggest impact ?
  6. explaining the stimulus plan........] I hope this helps you all to understand. It sure helped me This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format: "Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment? "A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers. "Q. Where will the government get this money? "A. From taxpayers. "Q. So the government is giving me back my own money? "A. Only a smidgen. "Q. What is the purpose of this payment? "A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy. "Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ? "A. Shut up." Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely: If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China . If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If you purchase a computer it will go to India . If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras , and Guatemala (unless you buy organic). If you buy a car it will go to Japan . If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan . And none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America . You can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a "Bills Football" game, or spend it on prostitutes, beer (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only businesses still in the US . So that is why I recommend Mr. Wilson ask the US Government for a stimulus package for himself........ After all the banks and other financial institutions got one and now many others will get one, so why not one for the Bills ?
  7. We all know the positions the Bills need to improve on. I personally believe the Bills will draft Aaron Maybin, DE/OLB, Penn State in the first round. He will fill in a position of need at OLB and would be a great pass rusher... With Schobel coming back along with Kelsay, Denney and hopefully a improved Ellis (drafted in the 3rd round last season) will be a improvement over last year at the DE position. Maybin is moving up the charts quickly and with the combine soon upon us I believe he will be acknowledged as a very good pass rusher. This guy is good. Picking a DE is not easy to do. Anytime a D-lineman or O-lineman is selected it is a gamble. Once they get to pro level what really counts is "Heart and Desire"... this is something you can not put down on paper like height, weight and speed. These are the toughest positions for scouts to judge. On the other hand. Linebackers are the easyest players to judge ..... If they are animals in college showing great desire and ability they will be the same way in the pros........ That is one reason I would like the Bills to take Maybin..... He will be a great assit to this team if he is selected.....at 6'3 and 250 lbs right now. There are a few other players I do feel are better than Maybin however. But I believe they will be gone before the Bills can draft them.
  8. Year after year the Bills Special Teams Coach seems to do a outstanding job. Just a passing thought... I think he would make a great head coach when Dick Jauron gets the axe in the middle of the season. We know it has a high possibility to happen...(Jauron getting fired that is) Go Bills .....
  9. Free agency is around the corner. The Bills have not been very good bringing in strong talent in the draft as has been expressed in other blogs. Over the years I have heard it takes at least 5 drafts to make your team playoff bound. When Levy took over we had two drafts under him which at the time looked to be pretty good ones. Looking back I do not agree. Last years draft was not a strong one either. At least not to date it isn't in my opinion. This year the inner circle which Mr. Wilson has talked about has finally brought in a football person who is better in judging talent then last years inner circle of Mr. Wilson, his daughter, Littmann and GM Russ Brandon. Now we have a football person helping to decide talent in F. A. and the draft. Free agency will help us fill a couple of holes hopefully. It depends on if the purse strings are open enough. You get what you pay for. The draft is a crap shoot. I see the Bills this year taking a few risks on obtaining offensive players over defensive players. They will try also to fill the holes left after acquiring free agent talent. Time will tell. Actually I thought going into last season the biggest holes they had were back up O-linemen. I thought they had plenty of depth defensively to give them a top 10 team and special teams under coach April is always in the top 5 or so. He lost good talent last year, but his coaching skills on special teams is very special indeed. He would make a good head coach some day. Going into last season I thought they were well represented with two good QB's. Was I ever wrong with Losman. I also thought the Bills covered their asses with WR Hardy. He was the tall receiver they so badly needed. He was a bust last year, but still has a lot of promise in the future. Just not yet. Basicly I thought the offense was going to come around. It did to a degree but lack of quality depth showed both on offense and defense. Poor coaching did not help and it still does not look good for the future. Very poor decision making on the field by the coaches cost the Bills several games. You usually do not see a lot of that but the Bills seemed to screw up offen on the side lines during the games. How many times did we hear from the players after a game say that they were not well enough prepaired for what was throw at them offensively and defensively. (Think of the Arizona Game when we got kicked all over the field) I blame the coaches... You know, the guys who were all retained again this coming year....... I have diverted from what I was going to say about the draft... Wilson wants more offense. That means a big TE who is damn good. A center who can pull out and stop NT's from over powering him. Maybe another WR either from the draft or F.A. and yes a FB who is at least average. A better D-lineman is also needed and hopefully addressed early in the draft to bring in top talent in a position of great need. We all know what is needed. Can Bills management deliver is the question? Money should not be a problem. Ralph has the money. He was 29 million under the cap last year and well under the cap in each year since the early Tom Donahoe era. In his old age he has been satisfied with just a average team. Lack of quality drafting has held the team back. Poor judgement on the part of the inner circle for acquiring talent is the root. Not money. Not anymore. I am wondering what deversion for not acquiring talent it will be this year. I dunno. But we will get a snow job from spin doctors I am sure. We always do.
  10. QB Edwards still has a lot to prove. We know he has a quick release and can see the field better then most QB's. However he does not look so good with someone in his face 75% of the time. How many times have we seen him drop back for a pass with a defender in his face. Answer is too often... This can shake up a passer to no end. His offensive line is just starting to jell. With a better center who can block those DT's and can roll out for the running game, we will see a much better running game. Having a TE who can stretch the field and block again would be a major improvement over what he has now. Good and Great QB's all have good offensive lines. They also have quality targets to throw to. They have a running attack that can move the chains. Edwards has none of these right now. He does have the runners, but they do not have the blockers to open the lanes and holes. The runners mostly make their own yardage. Our O-line needs to get on the same page to open holes and lanes like championship teams do. It won't take much on the part of Bills management to get the help Edwards needs. A tall TE to stretch the field. A Center who can block and roll out. Maybe another WR, or fast developement of Hardy. Also better coaching would really improve this team. I think we could all agree with this. Yes, Edwards can be a good one when he has better talent around him. I think this will happen during the off season period. We can only hope... Them be my thoughts
  11. At the end of this season Mr. Wilson told the press and Bills fans, the Bills need more talent especially on offense. Who makes the decisions as to whom the Bills want to acquire in free agency? The inner circle did last year. Who is in the inner circle? It has never been stated. We know Mr. Wilson, his daughter, Littmann, and Russ Brandon were last year. I do not know of any others. Tom Modrak has been added to the inner circle this year accodring to Mr. Wilson himself. NOT head coach Dick Jauron. Who makes the final decisions on this team but the inner circle. This year we have a football person in the inner circle, Tom Modrak who is now in charge of free agents and the draft according to Mr. Wilson. I believe free agents and the draft will lean heavily toward the offensive side of the ball. Those are Mr. Wilson's wishes. This does not mean however that our first pick at #11 could not be a defensive player. I believe the Bills will take the best athlete available at #11, at hopefully a position of need. Bills management knows they need to upgrade at many different positions. Who they get in free agency depends on who is willing to play for the Bills and how much the Bills are willing to pay them. Money talks and the Bills are loaded with that this year being 29 million under the cap last year and with no real big outlays needed for this year other than new players. Free agency starts Feb 27th and I imagine the Bills are now talking with Agents for the players they are interested in, so they can be signed on Feb 27th or soon after. That is how the system works. Most likely the Bills will get a QB to back up Edwards in free agency for it makes sense. They also need a OLB or MLB to upgrade that position. There is talk about acquiring Crowell back again, but would not be surprised to see the Bills splurge for a better OLB from another team who is in free agency. One who can rush the passer. It would not surprise me to see the Bills acquire a journeyman center who has been around for a few years. This would allow Preston to once again back up the guards and center. The Bills can draft a C/G and bring him along slowly for the future. It would not surprise me to see the Bills try to bring in a WR who may be aging but has a few good years left in him. Hopefully someone Edwards will find easy to find. Those are 4 positions I hope the Bills can fill in Free Agency. It sure would help if they do. They have a long ways to go to get better and we all know that. Wilson still wants to improve the offense. Fixing the Center position with a vet in F.A. will help but he still needs a quality rookie to come in hopefully to be drafted in the first three rounds. Wilson needs to have a stronger, taller, more talented TE that can stretch the field... To be drafted in the first three rounds Wilson needs to address the DE or DT position in the first round. We need a damn good player on the D-Line at either position. Do not be surprised to see this offseason leaning more to improve the offense then the defense. I just hope Mr. Wilson tries to bring in some difference makers in F. A. If he does it will mean he opened his pocketbook up more than usual. Them thar be my thoughts ....
  12. I bet the Bills are talking to the players agents right now to see what it will take to sign one of them on Feb. 27th. I do not know who would look the best in a Bills uniform however. Bills were paying Losman 2 million a year. They need someone who is willing to be a backup QB next year and be mostly on the sidelines while Edwards is on the field. Jeff Garcia would look great in a Bills uniform as would a couple of others mentioned above... It is a good list of possible names. Let's hope the Bills are lucky to get one of them signed for this coming season. Good job.
  13. Yes there is a cap number which is not talken about very often........... I believe they owners must spent 70% of the cap every year. They get to keep in their own pockets the rest. That is why Ralphie boy spends only 25 % less then the cap to keep himself out of salary cap hell by not under spending. It will be interesting to see how much he actually spends this year out of the 123 million he is allowed to spend. I am not sure if he can spend the 29 million he saved in 2008 and add it to the 123 million allowed this year. I do not know the rules on that. Got any advise ?
  14. Who are the top 11 players in this draft that would help the Bills the Most in decending order...... What would your War Room Draft Board Look like right now..??? Changes are inevitable from now to the Draft........ Here are my picks... I have eliminated qb, rb, fb, OT, CB, FS, & SS, positions from the top 11 over all picks... which leave me TE, WR, OG, OC, & DE, DT, OLB, MLB, to choose from.... My Over all picks in decending order of choice as of today are. 1. WR Crabtree A future all pro 2. LB Curry Has the makings of a difference maker 3. NT Raji Oh my god would he look good in a Bills Uniform... 4. DE Brown Right now he may be the best DE available 5. DE Orakpo Right on Browns heals as the best DE ... 6. TE Pelligrew He is the best TE in the draft because he can block and separate from LB's, not the fastest however. It is the separation that counts. 7. C Mack He is the best C in the draft, he can take on big NT's. He can roll out and block. He is a future all pro and will solitify the O-Line. 8. G Robinson He is the best G in the draft. Could play Center. Has future all pro written all over him. What more do you want. 9. MLB Maualuga Damn he is good. A true MLB. Has it all. He would really improve the front 7, 10. DE Maybin Very fast DE with strength. Highly underrated. He may move up in the charts he is that good. On the smallish side however 11. WR Maclin Could be another number 1 WR for the Bills...... Many of the above players will be available to the Bills at number 11.......There are a number of QB's (which could slide), OT's damn good ones, and a CB that will go before the Bills draft. I think the Bills have a chance at #3 on down on my draft board. Free agency could change my selections and the fact the Bills can start cutting players on Feb. 9th...... who knows what they are going to do really ? I have purposely left off a couple of names who could make the list. I left them off because of their off field reputations or there lack of shown desire on the field even though they have god given talent. How many times have we seen players with great talent but the lack of heart to preform. Positions that are the hardest to judge are O-Line, D-Line, WR.... The easiest are Line backers. If they are animals in college they will be animals in the NFL... CB's have raw talent that can be judged. RB's need to have a 6th sense where to run and will show it in college then go to the pros with it. Many good college players who play on the O-line and D-line fail in the pros because of lack of heart. It is impossible to judge that by the scouts. They can only hope for the best once a player is in the pros. Many players have the talent, but lack the desire. That is why the draft is a crap shoot. Are there any others I have over looked that the Bills may be interested in with their 11th over all pick?
  15. Last year Mr. Wilson lost huge money keeping the franchise in Western New York Let me explain his reasoning (or mine) for this......At $51.24 a seat average times 71,000 seats = $3,638,040 a game...... But if he were in another location say in Toronto he could charge double that amount minimum,..... So that means he lost for 2008 ... $3,638,404 times 8 ....($29,107,232) Last year with a salary cap of 116 million he actually spent 29 million under the cap........(I learned this from Fox Sports) So he actually made up the loss (in his mind) by not spending to the cap that he was allowed. He also made money with GM Russ Brandon's guidance by having the Toronto deal which gives him another 78 million over 5 years. Now I see why he loves Russ Brandon so much. He makes more money marketing the team then would his football knowledge. Mr. Wilson's goals are for the Bills to sell out. That is a must. He is not worried about that at all for the walk up sales on game day give him sellouts game after game. He could care less if the game is blacked out. He does not lose any money if games are blacked out. Remember all the TV money is shared by each team regardless. So far he is doing just fine financially. Well isn't it what the game is really about these days? What he must do however is have players on the field that allow them to win close to half of there games. This allows the team to reach maximum effectiveness salary wise. Teams make the most money for the owner when they are in the middle of the pack out of the 32 teams. When teams are in the bottom 8 or top 8 they often need to spend more money on talent. Many smaller market teams do not spend all they are allowed to spend. They have money problems too. There are a handful of owners who are willing to shell out all they can for they are in big market areas where they can have high ticket prices, sell lots of team goods and they love the power and popularity they get owning the team. By the way they make the most money because of the big drawing power of large cities ..... To wrap all this up I expect to see Mr. Wilson who is allowed to spend 123 million this season on players salaries to actually spend in the neighborhood around 92 million or 25% less, give or take. Hopefully he will spend a lot more. After all I am a Bills fan and want the best for the team. But what kind of team will we see with him spending 92 million on player salaries? The same as last year with a change of players is all and the team finishing with a record no better than 5 wins and 11 losses..... At the least......and again out of the playoffs....with us screaming for a change of coaches...... When the real problem is, well you know now don't you..... Remember we have been under the cap now since the early Tom Donahoe days. We are not making the playoffs because we are not spending all the money allowable like the larger cities. Yet the owner is definitely making his competitive share with other owners at the fans expense. Do not expect this to change until the Bills have new ownership ......... or he has a change of mind and actually spends what he is allowed to spend. Go Bills ...... by the way those are my thoughts only....... what are yours ?
  16. As we all know RB Jackson of the Buffalo Bills contract is up. He deserves a new and fair contract. I believe we all know that. The question is: What is a fair contract for Jackson in terms of salary? Will Wilson pay him as little as he can or will he be willing to give him a fair contract and pay him what he is worth to the team. If that is the case. What kind of money should the Bills pay him and for how many years.....???
  17. It would be good if the Bills could trade CB McGee for a 3rd round pick or trade him even up with KC for their star TE. This would give them the Big TE they need for the next few years. The cornerback positions could be covered with McKelvin, Greer, Youboty and Corner with a draft pick this year or a FA. It would also be good if the Bills trade down low enough to pick up a extra pick hopefully a 2nd round pick. This would also allow them to draft a Center or a TE of quality in the first round. Maybe even a DE or DT. The Bills need help and maybe this is a way for them to get themselves better quicker. It is all within reason.
  18. My thoughts on improving the Bills goes like this.... I hope they can obtain in free agency a Center, WR, LB, and a QB. All of whom are better than what we have now. In the draft I hope the Bills address their needs for a DE, TE, FB, Safety, DT and CB. There are so many needs this coming season Mr. Wilson will need to actually spend to the cap and not 20 to 30 million under it. Wouldn't that be nice....
  19. Some of the reasons why we lost are that on defense our coordinator (Perry Fewell) could not see what the TV viewers and talking heads on TV could see was that CB McGee was still playing injured with a bad leg. We could also see on TV how badly Peters and Dockery played along with Center Preston. It was discurraging to watch these millionaires play so badly when Edwards needed more time to throw. Lynch and Jackson needs these guys to play better to open lanes which they have forgotten to do.
