  1. Yes we did, but he is part of the Bills coaching staff that helped Modrak make final decisions. Modrak has a slew of help from scouts and coaches. It is all those contacts that helps him to finalize on decisions........ I think they did a fine job this year bringing in talent...don't you ?
  2. That after the interview that Jauron gave on ESPN this afternoon...he was taken to the hospital. The interviewer asked coach Jauron if he thought he had a good draft... Coach Jauron had this unusual expression on his face. It was something only a few people have ever seen before. It was a SMILE .... I heard they still can not get it off his face.... of course it is only a rumor....
  3. This was one hellva a good draft for the Bills. Adding Modrak to the innercirle of Mr. Wilson, GM Russ Brandon and Jauron was a great move. They really did well today. Yes they got lucky but that is part of the draft. Great scouting. Could they have done better? always, but I am very pleased the way they filled in all those holes. Now if the coaches can improve their play calling next year, we just might make the playoffs after all. The front office sure did their part in this draft bringing in some damn fine talent. Those are my thoughts...
  4. Russ Brandon let Peters go because he did not think Peters was worth 11 to 12 million a year. Russ never made the playoffs either. The Eagles believe Peters is worth 60 million plus giving the Bills a 1st round pick, a 4th round pick and next years 6th round pick. They know how to make the playoffs..... They stole Peters away from the Bills because of poor decision making by Brandon. Where is Brandon going to get a all pro left tackle in the next three years? He won't. Now that he just signed RB Rhodes I bet he will not offer RB Jackson what he is really worth either. That would be 2 1/2 million a year. Not $460,000 they are offering him. Brandon has Jackson between a rock and a hard place. I doubt Jackson will be offered any more money. I am beginning to see why the Bills players are disgruntled. Brandons real job is moving the Bills to Toronto, not improving the Bills on the field of play. He only needs to fill the stands for the next three years and bye bye Buffalo. His other job is to keep as much money in Mr. Wilsons pocket as he can and staying near the middle of the pack in the NFL as he can. It is called medicrity...... That is what the Bills fans are stuck with..
  5. Ralph usually makes the first two picks. As was stated around the first of the year. At the end of this past season he said the Bills will stress on making the offense a lot better. So does this mean we draft a OT or a TE with the first pick and maybe the 2nd too? Time will tell. We are only a week away but Mr. Wilson will make the first two and maybe three picks again this year with the help of the inner circle.
  6. Cross Pettigrew off Bills' wish list...The tight end position is one of the Buffalo Bills needs heading into the draft, but don't expect the Bills to take Oklahoma State TE Brandon Pettigrew with their first round pick. Pettigrew was arrested on Jan. 20, 2008 on complaints of assault and battery on a police officer and public intoxication. Prosecutors originally charged Pettigrew with felony assault and battery on a police officer, but reached a plea agreement with Pettigrew in which he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery, and misdemeanor public intoxication in the incident. Although this was an isolated incident, with the recent arrests of Donte Whitner, Marshawn Lynch and Ko Simpson, I highly doubt if the Bills' braintrust will take a chance on any prospect with character issues in the upcoming draft. I just picked this off the internet and I believe the Bills will evade picking him now as maybe so will some other teams. At least not early in the draft.
  7. Lack of height is a consideration according to Tom Modrak. I saw a video of him talking about DE Brown and that he is not of ideal height for a DE. He did not make a big deal out of it however. Production is a major concern with him and a players college history. In the NFL DE Brown will face higher quality Offensive Linemen then he saw in college. They can wear down a smaller DE like Brown and they are looking for a everydown DE in the first round.
  8. Who they take depends on if they can resign Jason Peters to a New Contract. If they give up on him and trade him say for a 1st and a third, all bets are off. I would then say they need the best player at OT, OG/C, TE, OLB and DE pass rusher. .... Not in any particuar order. If DT Raji, WR Crabtree , OT Monroe or Smith along with DE Orakpo fall to the Bills I would think they would take one of them. DE/LB Brown is said to be too short. De/lb Maybin is said to be a one year wonder. DE Johnson is still unproven. Bills may feel they do not want to take the risk on these guys. On the other hand TE Pettigrew has all the qualifications they are looking for in a TE. That may be the route they will go even with other quality TE's in round two and three that could be had. They are going to look for a sure fire player and I do not blame them for who ever they pick is going to make a lot of money hands down. He better be a damn good pick. That is what the scouts are being paid for. It is a judgement call and they better be right. There are no should of, could of or would ofs after he has been picked. Who ever he may be. I still think a trade down is the best move if one can be made. Just hope there is a quality QB available at round 11. There will be several teams wanting to move up if that is the case. The Bills have a lot of needs to fill in this draft... I hope GM Russ Brandon can pull it off.
  9. Who the Hell really knows ? The Bills are so mum on letting any kind of news out as to who they are interested in, it's pittiful. I really do not know if DE Brown, OLB Maybin, OT Oher, DE Johnson, De Jackson, TE Pettigrew or any of the other top 10 in the draft have come to Buffalo for evaluation. It just might mean the Bills already know come hell or high water who they are going to get hands down. My guess would be TE Pettigrew. We know the Bills are cheap. So why bring in other players at the owners expense when you already know who you are going to pick? TE Pettigrew would give them the BIG WR/TE they have been looking for and did not get in Hardy. He definitely would fill the Bill Offensively. Yes we need a pass rusher. But remember what Mr. Wilson said at the end of the season. He was going to fix the offense. Pettigrew would be step one. he only lacks top speed. But with the kind of receivers the Bills now have, Pettigrew will only get covered by a linebacker. He has great hands and can plant his feet well for quick outlet passes. If the pass is well thrown he will get it. That's what we need. A truely dependable receiver on each play. A BIG target who can really catch and block. Step two would be signing Peters. If it does not happen on draft day I would expect him to be traded for a 1st and a third. The Bills then would try to sign the best Offensive Lineman available at that point even if he is not a tackle. Bills might even make a trade at some point later using Parish and a lower draft pick to pick up a quality Offensive lineman at either guard or tackle. Rounds two and three will have to be used for defensive help. Rounds 4 thru 7 will just have to be used as fill ins is all. Too many compensation picks to other teams at the end of the third round this year. I really hope the Bills sign our best offensive lineman. 8.5 million is actually still to low and 11 million he is asking for is really to high. It would be best if Russ Brandon uses his negioation abilities and gets Peters signed before the draft. If the Bills trade Peters away, the Bills will losing in the trade. It will not be a win / win situation for both teams. Losing Peters would be a setback for the team. Getting a 1st and a third for a all pro Left Offensive Tackle in his prime is priceless. Bills should not trade him away in anger or demean how good he really is when he wants to be. Bills to date have treated other players better than they have Peters and that is why he is standing his ground. Brandon needs to amend fenses. That is what a good GM would do.
  10. I think there is a good chance now that Denver will want to trade up with the Bills to 11 in exchange for the 12th over all pick. The Bills would pick up a additional 3rd pick from Denver...... Denver would do this to prevent any other team trading with the Bills to get a hot QB. Looking good for the Bills right now... The Bills could still move lower in the draft depending on what happens with Peters on draft day. That senario is still to be played out come April 25th... Bills need a major sure fire player with their first pick. Some of the Defensive Ends / linebackers have questionable attributes meaning they are too short, not enough experience etc. It is going to get interesting as draft day approaches thanks to the Denver/Chicago trade..... It would behove the Bills to move lower in the draft if they can receive good compensation. Bills lacking top talent in many positions and getting extra draft picks on draft day will help get the talent they need. Go Bills ......
  11. Of all the highly rated players in the NFL draft this year, which ones have all ready been to Buffalo for the Bills to check out ? I do not know of any ...... Has LB Curry, DE Orakpo, DT Raji, OLB Maybin, DE Jackson, DE Brown, TE Pettigrew or any other highly rated player been invited to Buffalo? Just wondering as to whom they may be showing some real interest in. Other teams are inviting players for visits but little is said about the Bills doing the same.......
  12. Thanks for the effort but I was looking for a better animated version of water flowing over the falls Thanks again
  13. This has nothing to do with Bills football..... sorry... but I thought someone here would have the answer...... I am looking for a animated picture of water flowing over Niagara Falls..... most likely a gif file.... I can not find one anywhere... I thought maybe someone could tell me a web site that would have it or how to make one..... Thanks for your time .......
  14. The Bills if they make a trade for Peters will probably give him away........What is a LT who made the pro bowl two years running, and voted the Best young tackle in the league worth? Last year he laid back wanting a new contract... When he wants to be he is the best LT in the league game in and game out... He should be paid so. What is he now making? 3 to 4 million when other good ones are making double or more. Philly knows what they are getting and that is why they will push the trade... He is worth a lot but the Bills will excect anything I say sign Peters and get it over with... But the Bills history tells us different...
  15. The Eagles have the 21st pick....in the first round The 28th pick in the first round The 53rd pick in the 2nd round The 85th pick in the third round they also have 3 fifth round picks....... If they acquire Jason Peters.....what they would be getting is a LT, 27 years old, a two time pro bowler in his prime... Getting him for Philly would be Priceless for them........at any costs.... Dealing with the Bills is even better....... They most likely will give him up for nothing because they do not want to compromise with Peters... even though he is still under contract for two more years...... They will give Philly a good deal on draft day if Philly still wants Peters ......remember we are the drudge of the league and we did not get there having a solid front office .......... I hate the idea of trading a quality OLT like Peters..... for god sakes make a Deal Brandon... get it over with.....
  16. I see other teams picking the best of the quality free agents while the Buffalo Bills sit and wait. Wait for what? More Mediocre players? They have important pieces to fill in if they are to be contenders. If the offense is to click they must have a high quality starting LG and a pass catching TE. They desperately need a pass rusher either at OLB or DE...... Then there is the matter of depth on the offensive line....... Jauron wants a veteran running back...... I hope the Bills do not plan on using just draft picks to fill in the holes. Then there is the matter of getting Jason Peters signed. The guy should be making what the other OLT's are making. And what about RB Jackson..... He will have to carry the team on his back most likely for the first 4 games when running the ball ..... Who knows if Marshawn will be around those games... Are we going to only pay him the little bit they offered him? Cheap...Cheap...Cheap Get those guys signed........to better and competitive contracts and get it over with ....... So far even with the addition of T.O. I am disappointed with the front office..... So little communication from them to let the fans know anything to give them hope that they too want to make the playoffs ....... They are masters of discuise....
  17. To the Eagles he is a "guaranteed" starting OLT who is in his prime and voted to the pro bowl the last two years........ Priceless You can not find a player who is "guaranteed" in the draft...What is his value in points....... points are used in the draft when trading players...... The number one pick is worth 3000 points. He will be a good player but not "guaranteed" The Eagles will know what they are getting in Peters. A player who achieves, has heart & talent...Is dependable and not a trouble maker....... "Guaranteed" or as close as you can get to it... The Eagles could offer the Bills the following.......Their #21 pick worth 800 points, their 28th pick worth 660 points, their 53rd pick worth 370 points and their 85th pick worth 165 points... Total number of points is 1995 which is equivalant to a 4th pick in the draft...... http://www.ourlads.com/nfldraftvalue.cfm The Bills once had a 4th pick named Mike Williams, who was a Offensive Tackle....... He was very offensive if you will remember...... If the Bills do decide to take such a trade what would be their moves? I would move Walker to LT. Chambers to RT. That leaves the Bills needing a starting Center or Guard to be acquired early with one of their picks. The Bills would now have the following picks in the draft. #11 A first round pick #21 A first round pick #28 A first round pick #45 A second round pick #53 A second round pick #75 A third round pick #85 A third round pick They also have one pick in round 4,5,6,7...... They now can fill all their needs with quality players from their draft picks........ They can acquire in no particular order a starting LB, DE, TE, OT, Center/Guard There are still more draft picks to fill out the 53 man roster with quality young players... at many other positions... The Bills would be greatly improving their roster with young talent... There may be a lot of objections to such a deal........ no doubt... from both sides Then maybe not ......
  18. Getting a great guaranteed LOT is priceless......... The Bills have one..... If there is a serious trade..... Take two firsts from Philly and a starting guard ...... maybe then...... That is how good Peters is...
  19. I had not seen this before......... thanks for posting it........ it was very funny........ I am sending it to my friends who also follow the Bills... Thanks again
  20. The last move you made was to acquire Terrell Owens... No other moves have been made... What do you do if you are GM and today is draft day...??? How do you fix the starting LOG position, Need for a pass catching TE, need for a pass rusher and need for a quality Line backer? How smart are You ?
  21. GM Russ Brandon's job is still far from over....... He better get some good line protection at LG ...... making a trade for Waters makes sense... No mater what he does now in free agency he better get his starting O-line in order..... Brandon can get a good defensive end in the draft with Tyson Jackson... Jackson will not provide a great pass rush but will be stable for years to come. They will have to pay him 6 million a year for a 11th round pick. They can alway release Kelsay to recover that amount of money or close to it. Maybin is not the answer, for the Bills would be taking a big risk on him. Everette Brown is too small for a DE and can be pushed around. Brian Orakpo will be gone as will DT Raji........ The Bills like DE Jackson for he is a 4 year starter and they have a good read on him. From what I hear he is moving up the charts fast....... Round 2 is looking like the Bills will take the Best TE available....... They could also move up using Parish as trade bait if necessary.... Round 3 can be used for a quality C/Guard...... Rounds 4 thru 7 ... your guess is as good as mind....... That leaves Line Backer to get fixed in free agency........there are several out there to choose from..... The same for a new 3rd string running back to get us through the first 4 games of the season........ I figure GM Brandon is trying hard now to fix the LG position..... There is a big hole there right now...... The Bills really need a high quality LG to protect Edwards....... He needs the time now to throw more then ever..... We are going to have a outstanding arial attack now with Owens and a pass catching TE. This too will improve our running game especially since the Bills hopefully can open things up........ Let's hope the Bills can make some smart moves here on out .......
  22. 03/07...Bills Still Fishing in Free Agency...The Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in signing former Browns and Saints OG/OC LeCharles Bentley...Bentley has been out of the league since June 11, 2008 when his agent, Jonathan Feinsod, reported that Bentley asked for and was granted his release from the Cleveland Browns. per http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com/als09scoop.html Bills still have 4 major needs to fill...... OG...TE...OLB...DE (pass rusher) Bills still have 2 minor needs to fill...... RB...backup Center/Guard GM Russ Brandon still has his hands full during this off season....... It is good to know they are still active after their getting T.O. I must admit my hopes for this coming season have improved..... now if they will just provide more upgrades through F.A. and the Draft to fill those holes.
  23. Adding T.O. is a great move by the front office... Now the Bills have 7 WR's....... I believe the Bills would be willing now to part with WR Parish even up for OG Waters with the K.C. Chiefs.... I can only hope........ Then if the Bills can bring in a veteran RB.......... and a quality LB to the mix they would be all set for the draft in my opinion.......
  24. Last year Bell showed us a lot of promise...Quick feet...good size at 6'5" ...305 lbs...but Schobel pushed him all around in preseason except toward the end. Schobel told the press he was impressed with Bell...His ONLY weakness was his strength and for a guy his size he was weak. Bellcould get in front of his opponent but could not stop a rush block....He just did not have it in him...From what I heard he has been a hard worker with a ton of upside. Someone said he has quicker feet then Peters... If he has gained 10 to 15 lbs of muscle and has the strength needed all he would then need is experience. I believe he left school a year early. Gotta check out his age as of right now..... We just might have a real sleeper this year.....and one thing you have to omit...he has the genes.......his dad had monterous talent........
