  1. Interesting--in my most recent mock attempt, I had them moving up to 7 with SD
  2. I think many facets of the personnel approach they've taken this offseason have been ill-advised. - I would never have been in the Ricky Wagner running for $9M/year. - I'd have taken a different course with Gillislee - I never would've gone near Ducasse - I would've tried to focus on cap casualties like Bethea etc to take advantage of the comp pick formula Not saying I'm right and Whaley's wrong, but I haven't really liked the general path this offseason...that's not to say that some of the signings haven't been good ones.
  3. That signing is still totally baffling to me.
  4. Really? Surprised by that--you follow the game pretty closely, and he scored the first TD of the game in the Browns-Bills matchup last year.
  5. If you're a fan of Mediterranean food, check out Byblos in Amherst, NY. Amazing food.
  6. Your points are fair. I think part of the evaluation needs to go beyond this season, since his cap number drops in 2018...if you can make it work, it's worth thinking about given how run-oriented the offense is at this time.
  7. Riddick only started because Abdullah got hurt. Burkhead is most certainly a comparable given that he's competing for carries with White, Lewis, and Gillislee. $4M this season is high for sure, but the AAV is not.
  8. Different discussion IMO. The point is that Gilly is not getting anything out of whack for a backup RB that hits the FA market...whether or not you think it's a good idea to pay that to him given how much Shady is getting is worth debating IMO. I'm on the fence, but leaning toward wanting to match since he's shown himself to be very productive in his current role. Then again, I'm the guy that wanted to give him a 2-year, $4.5M deal that was fully gtd back in January. I didn't take it that way; I simply wanted to draw the distinction.
  9. That wouldn't say much considering that the reigning Super Bowl MVP was a RB that they drafted in the 4th round--interestingly enough, he had 139 total yards and 3 TDs for the Patriots.
  10. I've actually covered the difference between the two players. Sammy put up #1 WR stats despite a massive disparity in opportunities...when targeted like a number 1 WR, he outpaced the league. That's not projecting what he might do if given opportunities, it's simply stating what he did when given them. Gillislee set a career high with 6 carries per game last year and only has 2 career games with 15 or more carries...nearly everything relating to him as a starting back is projecting. Nope. The following are all backup RBs: Theo Riddick - $3.85M AAV Bilal Powell - $3.75M AAV Rex Burkhead - $3.15M AAV Take your pick of Darren Sproles ($4.5M AAV) or Ryan Mathews ($3.67M AAV) It's the going rate for a quality backup RB.
  11. His AAV is $3M, which is standard for a backup RB It's fine if you don't want to pay that for Gilly, but it's hardly out of whack for market value.
  12. For me it's Cam Robinson. I simply don't see a starting NFL tackle there...too undisciplined and erratic with technique.
  13. This place would go absolutely ballistic if they pick any of Davis/Ross/Lattimore after the Shaq/Ragland injuries last year. He is... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/178001-the-1st-player-selected-by-the-bills-will-be/page-2?do=findComment&comment=3542315
  14. As I've been saying with regard to Belichick... Mike Reiss‏Verified account @MikeReiss Follow More Nick Caserio notes Patriots ultimately narrow down draftable list of players to no more than 75. For comparison, Ravens said 175 for them.
  15. I know he's small, but how about DeAngelo Henderson? He's got a similar running style to Gilly--decisive, quick, tough.
  16. Again, the point is that they did nothing proactive to replace a contributing player. Hoping for Goodwin to do the job post-Olympics was gutsy at best, and dumb at worst. They can ill-afford to do so again with Gillislee (assuming he's let go).
  17. Yeah...but aside from them...
  18. 9 fewer catches for 250 fewer yards is not equal production. Moreover, Goodwin was hardly a known quantity. My point is simply that there needs to be a plan to replace productive players beyond "let's hope"
  19. That's why I'd have bypassed the RFA tenders and offered him a 2-year, $4.5M deal that was fully-guaranteed. He'd have signed it because it's more money up front than the tenders, and you avoid this entire goofy situation.
  20. The comments are irrespective of each other. $3M AAV is standard for a backup RB, which runs contrary to what the other poster said. Whether or not you pay $12M in cap space to your top 2 backs is another question altogether. But where is the replacement?
  21. Except that there are backup running backs all over the NFL making an AAV of $3M.
  22. You need to pay closer attention to who is criticizing this move if that's what you think. They can be replaced, but will they be? Hogan sure hasn't been...yet.
  23. He isn't? That's backup RB money right there. Theo Riddick, Bilal Powell, Rex Burkhead, Danny Woodhead--all of them are getting more than the 2nd round tender.
