  6. Better behind him than in front of him. Mcdermott almost McDooormat. https://twitter.com/RyanTalbotBills/status/1111306176296304641?s=20
  7. I haven't seen anything of NFL fines this week. If Josh did not get up, we are likely talking a whole different conversation this week. There may have been a fight, a concussion or maybe a broken jaw. We aren't talking about the 2 fumbles or if Josh is going to get hurt on a designed run play. This is a late, helmet to helmet, launched, both feet off the ground, hit. The fine should be big for Basham.
  8. Yes. I would think that should warrant a league fine too.
  9. Touch throws are generally not compatible with windy conditions and we never really get to know the effects it has on decision making and the actual throws. Hopefully Josh learns to expertly play the conditions and the visiting QBs struggle with them but that Eagles game last year was quite the opposite. His deep passes might evolve toward being flatter as he opts to throw balls with less "hang time" and therefore less wind affected. Something to always consider, especially for home games.
  10. Been throwing this in at various discussions. Josh Allen in 2019 had a season much like Cam's average from 2013-2017 which, of course, includes his MVP year, per PFR. So it's not just last week it also is about the consensus narrative of them. Having 5 years of Cam's play looking like Josh's 2nd year means what? Cam is not as good as advertised or Josh is better than portrayed? I think both are likely true.
  11. i think we will see dome deep shots against the Dolphins in 1 v 1 matchups.
  12. Nice Twitter follow Stathi Papadopoulos provided this: Duke and Stephon Running the Same Route Duke injured his shoulder and Stephon nearly got wrecked.
  13. Back shoulder and up high where only Knox could make a play. Dawson seems pretty good on highly contested throws. It's the ones where he was in the clear but did not know where the nearest defenders were that made a drop more likely.
  14. I like WRs that can block well especially with physicality. Two things required are (1) want to and (2) working at it. They do not all have those in significant measure. It's part of what I like about Duke's game and he probably does not make their practice squad without it. When the stars do it well, it sets the bar high for everyone else.
  15. I think that was a Steelers/Tomlin stat.
  16. My brother's theory is that if there is an obvious wind effect based on the direction of play, a team should choose the ball at the start, kick into the wind in the 3rd and have the wind in the 4th when most games are decided. Hardly any coach does this.
  17. I can hear Keith Jackson now!
  18. The Bills went max protect and a triple teamed defender, Mercilus, beat the protection and caused the fumble. So many plays in that game would have made for some tough video review. TJ Watt punches should be illegal. When he misses it becomes more akin to a PF. I don't ever recall any other player going after the ball like that. He got Singletary to fumble.
  19. I think in regards to the Houston game fumble, Josh had decided to make a throw. His eyes were fixed down field and his left had had just come off the ball but category 3 is the better match over 1. Mercilus beat Kroft, Singletary and Dawkins on the play and accidentally poke checked it from Josh's right hand with the back of his. Sorry, I have had a thing with reviewing those strange plays that went wrong from that game. The excuse I see for fumbles of the #2 type is that QBs are not only not hit in practice but they aren't even to be touched. I think that does not prepare them well for in game defenders making a play on him.
  20. Ball security for a QB is impossible to simulate in a practice setting. No one is allowed to make any contact with them that comes anywhere near what defenders produce during a game. As for the injury concerns I think the hits he takes in the pocket are just as dangerous. So I am resigned to hoping he learns to protect the ball and himself better as time goes on but not necessarily run less.
  21. Careful Bills. You might get Gase fired at halftime.
