The only problem I have with this fairly logical approach is the defense is championship caliber right now. If EJ flops and we have to start over at QB it makes it difficult for all three phases to line up. ST and D are good enough to win right away. I don't know what it will take to get a decent vet qb in here for training camp but it needs to happen. If EJ wins the job so be it. But they need to give up what's necessary to get a vet. My 2 cents
Ok Doc so aside from the very doable aquisition of good OL players this offseason where will we find the savior QB?
the answer is we won't and the running drought will goto 16. we deserve better than this **** every year
bingo. I also think this job is a little more attractive to football people as the appearance is this team is on the upswing so maybe we land a good football operations guys and a better head coach who hires a good OC and we're off and running...we shall see.
although we knew when they lost those games they could potentially be the reason we miss this year, we can only hope they learn from it like you say. I hope it drives them crazy this offseason and it makes them even hungrier in 15/16
I just hope to God the front office recognizes that this Defense ( in it's current state that means signing hughes etc.)
is absolutely playoff ready and that they build on this end of season momentum playoffs or not and fix this Offense. We need a consistant accurate veteran QB as well as an athletic guard in draft/free agency. If those things happen I think the playoff drought ends next year ( unless we buy a miracle this year) this defense will only get better and the Offense has enough pieces to be productive.
I feel really bad for this defense. They are very playoff caliber and they are being dragged down by this putrid non productive garbage we call an offense. It's a real shame
We just need a consistent accurate arm the rest of the pieces are there (maybe a good guard or two in draft/free agency) and we're good. If pressed I'd take Bradford from that list. That's all though.
