  1. The Dolphins took Aaron Rodgers, the Cards took Pac-Man Jones and Ronnie Brown fell to #13. The Bucs took Carnell Williams so at the very least Pastabelly thinks TH isn't going there. Linky Dink
  2. I shot a boar, a bear, a coupla deer...
  3. 11 paragraphs...and just 15 sentences.
  4. It's nice to see Burwell is still as big an idiot as he was when he wrote for USA Today.
  5. That would be funny if it wasn't so frickin' true.
  6. Congrats Tom! This calls for a WNYTBDGPS meeting to celebrate soon.
  7. Cowboys' war room
  8. Yo, I liked your old avatar better.
  9. Glad I RMPL because that was the one I was going to say!
  10. Bill, I agree with you. I was thinking along these lines... what if TD thinks (1) there isn't anybody worth taking with the #9 pick and (2) he wouldn't be able to find a partner willing to trade up to #9 once he got it? He'd tell Washington, "I don't want your #9 because all I'd want to do with it is trade down and get at least a low first and a high second. Since I don't think anyone will give me that, why don't YOU go get a low first and trade it to me along with your high second for Nate? That cuts out the middleman and you get to keep your #9." Am I crazy?
  11. I'm not saying at least 2/3 of all players don't work out. I'm saying that at least 2/3 of all players don't get a second contract from their original teams. That doesn't mean they didn't work out, as d_wag points out above. I am also saying that it's disingenuous to claim that first-round picks aren't all that just because 2/3 of them don't sign second contracts. Unless you evaluate that percentage against the percentage of lower-round players who don't sign second contracts, that percentage is an absolutely meaningless bit of information. Par for Clayton's course, though.
  12. There an echo in here?
  13. This information would be a lot more valuable if we could compare it with stats for second, third, and lower rounds. I would venture to say that fewer than 1/3 of ALL players drafted in a given year get second contracts from the teams that draft them, and that the percentage declines the lower you go in the draft.
  14. Where's Mark Weiler on this list?
  15. Buchanon to Texans for their 2nd and 3rd
  16. So why didn't Wade stand on principle with DeHaven the way he did with Ronnie? Because Ronnie was his buddy.
  17. That same leader made Bruce DeHaven take the blame for Home Run Throw Forward so he could hire Ronnie in the first place. Sorry, I'm not going to get all choked up about Wade's stand on principle in this case, especially when he was so quick to sell DeHaven down the river the year before.
  18. Would the Raiders still be as interested in trading Woodson now that they have jettisoned Buchanon?
  19. Sometimes I wonder What I'm-a gonna do 'Cause there ain't no cure For the summertime blues
  20. Well, these days you have a 50% chance of being right, and given that I live in Rochester your percentage just went way up.
  21. I was only suggesting, almost entirely tongue-in-cheek (as most of you should know is my wont), that Wade might have been one of Ronnie's customers.
  22. Kind of makes you wonder a bit why Wade was so adamant in his refusal to fire Ronnie, doesn't it?
  23. This is Dan Snyder we're talking about.
  24. Yes, much like Karel Wojtyla listened to the Nazis when he refused to help hide Jews from them. Oh wait he didn't listen to them.
  25. Funny, I kind of think the same thing about Chief Justices...
