  1. 30th in offense and 26th in defense in 2017 and we busted the drought. Doesn't even make sense. That will be McDermott's greatest accomplishment until we win the Super Bowl.
  2. His YPC did go down so this may indicate he's already getting better at this or that there are fewer designed runs and more scrambles to get a few yards out of a busted play.
  3. "You know the type, loud as a motorbike, but wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight."
  4. I was a little surprised to see that Josh ran the ball 109 times last year and 100 times this year. Now that he's shown himself to be an elite passer I'd really like to see this number drop off in 2021.
  5. I'll take one of the backup QBs who would fall on top of a fumble in the Super Bowl.
  6. I actually forgot they had that high pick. Still, I don't see the logic in sticking with him as a starter during this playoff run if there's any chance he's not the starter in 2021.
  7. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/alabama-football/video-pronounce-tua-tagovailoa-let-explain/
  8. Nothing can happen during this game that will cause the Fins to give up on Tua for next year.
  9. I don't think resting players for one week makes them rusty...after all there's the bye week every season. I do think there's danger in slowing down your momentum and just punting a whole game away. Losing begets more losing. I'd probably rest the 3-5 most important players and otherwise play to win. We're deep enough to beat Miami without some combination of Josh, Diggs, Tre, Milano and Morse. Miami would be favored but I think it would be competitive and not slow down the team in a demoralizing way.
  10. It's hard to beat an opponent three times. Luckily we'd only need to beat them once.
  11. I think what you're describing is a residue from when we were really bad and almost every position group needed an upgrade, so naturally any 7th rounder or UDFA who made some good plays in training camp was the next big thing.
  12. Gotta love fans. The guy plays well for the Bills for 3 years, gets unfairly hurt and then cut, handles it like a pro, and still gets mocked. I'm genuinely curious how long of a game winning field goal he'd be allowed to try in a dome. 70?
  13. Fair enough. If I was skilled I'd also do the job for 84k, but his job involves a lot more than showing up for a few plays a year. And I'm not one of those guys who's rooted for Duke to be a big part of the offense but I also try to remember that PS players are still in the top-200 or so players at their position in a business where tens of thousands of guys aspire to the same.
  14. I suspect many may not want to hear this but the team can be for real and still lose in the first round of the playoffs. It's a single elimination tournament played with an oblate spheroid and wacky stuff goes down sometimes, not to mention that the AFC is very strong. If you could play 5 or 7 game series in football I'd say book us for the AFCCG. The "for real" feeling for me is that we'll return to the playoffs perennially while Josh is on the team and healthy and that deep playoff runs will happen when they happen. We also have a very real chance at a championship this year.
  15. I suspect you're right about the coaches' motivations especially because I REALLY think they were trying to break that 14 receivers with TDs record earlier in the game. That said, there aren't enough backups on the active roster to fill every single starting spot so Beasley may have stayed in the package for that reason. I noticed that not every defender got subbed out.
  16. Putrid take. Do you really think the practice squad players do nothing?
  17. Assuming the stakes haven't changed you're still playing with house money!
  18. "Smithers, have the Miami Dolphins killed." "But sir, they weren't -" "Do as I say!"
  19. I remember the days when only the Bills' starting RB would get taken in the draft.
  20. I just...don't understand how the ball gets to Knox's hands so quickly. I keep watching it and it doesn't make physical sense.
  21. I will say that the very next game they committed three straight turnovers in the 4th quarter which is a sure fire loss when you aren't facing the choking Chargers. But they started physically dominating in the next game against San Fran and haven't looked back.
  22. 5-0 since then including 4 in a row on national television. This team is a different breed.
  23. The thing is if it was a pop injury and he knew it, they wouldn't have let him walk to the locker room. Guys walk on torn ACLs when they're none the wiser but they're getting the cart out otherwise.
