Yeah, I take each "report" with a grain of salt. Then again, according to Graham, Buddy Nix flew to Detroit to meet with Ralph about his job status, until it turned out he didn't.

According to Adam Schefter, the Bills interviewed Marrone on Wednesday, not Friday: Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Syracuse’s Doug Marrone interviewed with the Bills on Wednesday night and the Browns on Thursday. Eagles, Chargers also interested.

Chip Kelly HC! (possibly for the Browns)

It would certainly smack of Donahoe, Levy/Overdorf/Littman/Brandon, Brandon/Overdorf/Littman, Nix, Brandon/Nix/Whaley, status quo. -

Of course. I do think it's a good sign for the Bills that they are investigating all avenues, especially an outside the box candidate like Kelly. I just don't think it bodes well for Kelly's chances as a Bill, unless more details emerge. I'm fairly confident they'll come away with a solid, (if unspectacular) choice this time. -

The timing on these meetings isn't entirely clear. We didn't hear word one about the Lovie and Marrone interviews until well after the fact, and the final 2 hours of the Browns meeting was dinner. It's entirely possible that by the time news broke of the Bills meeting with Kelly, it was already near completion. They very well could have met for a few hours considering it's now, what, 10pm in Arizona? Having said that, I don't think it bodes well. -

I'm sorry--- it was a text sent via the Bills official iPhone app, not a regular text. @buffalobills: The #Bills have formally interviewed Chip Kelly, Doug Marrone and Lovie Smith. -

There are individuals from some areas in the deep south that feel comfortable using certain derogatory terms because they "grew up with it", that's all. Not an inference on you in that regard, but that's the same reasoning. To be fair, I also grew up with the word "retard" and the like as innocuous terms we threw around casually, so I certainly understand where you're coming from. I know that a few posters that disagree with some of your opinions have allowed their rhetoric to devolve into disrespectful diatribes and I just think it's a mistake to fight fire with fire. My condolences for Landry Jones

I guess we're just lucky you didn't grow up in Alabama. Not for nothing, but it's not so important that it isn't offensive to you. Don't misunderstand me, I know you're a good dude. I'm just saying.

Hey man. No need for that--- you're better.

No worries--- I'm just a bit from brainfarting and suggesting they might miss their curfews! -

Little snarky, eh? Mike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo Continue to hear what I tweeted earlier: Kelly has not told any teams they're out of running. @mortreport says Kelly will meet w/ Buf + Phi Retweeted by Sal Capaccio -

Hehe--- hadn't thought of that. It's still a small window, although I suppose these things often go late into the night. Not that it's likely he can be pried away from Colt McCoy. -

It's not very promising that the Bills get to meet with him "tonight"--- when it's already 11pm. Especially after 7 hours with Cleveland. What does it all mean? Who knows. -

Just now: Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Via @mortreport, Chip Kelly wrapped up 7 hours of meeting with Browns. Kelly meeting tonight w/ Bills, Saturday w/ Eagles. Browns favored. -

According to ESPN Cleveland, the rumors are apparently true that Haslem and Banner had been working on Kelly for some time: A source in the Browns’ organization told ESPN Cleveland that just over a week ago Banner told backup quarterback Colt McCoy he is “in the next head coach’s plans.” Adam Caplan of Sirius/XM NFL Radio reported earlier tonight that Michael Lombardi, who is rumored to be the next GM, has already been angling for the Browns in free agency. If you combine both of these reports it is pretty obvious that the Kelly/Lombardi regime did not just materialize in the last 24 hours. As far as Brandon Weeden, who started all but one game for the Browns last season, he may end up the odd man out. Lombardi said the drafting of Brandon Weeden with the #22 pick was a panicked disaster last offseason. He also said on a Cleveland radio station in September that despite the fact that Colt McCoy gives the team a better chance to win, Weeden was going to finish out the season as the starter. -

The difference in quality between the theatre and arts communities of Cleveland and Buffalo is arguable at best, but what's not likely arguable is that it figured into Chip Kelly's decision in any way whatsoever. Perhaps if he chose San Diego or Miami. There are several reasons for him to choose Cleveland--- serving as a coverup to your cheap shot isn't one of them. -

You're absolutely right, it may not work. There are certainly risks to his approach that have more to do with just playcalling. I'm not suggesting he's going to completely revamp his offense, but it will depend largely on the personnel he has available to him. That's what a smart coach would do, and that's what makes Kelly valuable--- his brains. Having said that, Bill Bellichick invited Kelly to Patriots camp this year to teach him his offense. The Pats offense this year adopted many of his principles, and the results were tremendous. -

That's a ridiculous response, and totally unnecessary. -

The Cleveland ownership and front office, Jimmy Haslem & Joe Banner, already are what Russ Brandon is aspiring to be: progressive, forward thinking and aggressive. Plus, Banner has a relationship with Kelly's agent. There's talent on that roster, too. -

Many posters are making comments similar to this, but this is far from the truth. I don't think there's a coach in football that has come under more detailed scrutiny then Chip Kelly--- the amount of analysis and critique available on the internet about what and how he's doing what he's doing is abundant. Kelly has said he will adapt his system to whatever talent he has. It's been repeated a million times--- he's not going to simply run the Oregon offense. Smart Football @smartfootball Chip Kelly's top run plays -- inside zone, outside zone, and power (guard pull) -- are same Trent Richardson ran at Alabama -
Why does Cleveland and Kansas City have more talent?
Punch replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Part of it's funny because this season the Bills beat both teams. -

That's the risk/reward of the internet--- kind of like hiring Kelly! HA!
