  1. Thanks. That is what I was hoping for.
  2. Did anyone have NFL Replay last year? I have a dilemma - I live in the NYC metro area and just moved into a house which I can't get DirecTV due to tree coverage. I was thinking I could get NFL replay and watch the games at midnight (its not too hard to keep off the news for 8 hours as the Jets and Giants dominate coverage). My question is - when you log in to select your game is the score shown or just the teams playing? i.e. would it look like: Miami 7 @ Buffalo 21 or Miami @ Buffalo
  3. I know people have been discussing Coleman a lot and Easterbrook typically has a good handle on NFL assessment. Excerpt from Greg Easterbrook's TMQ from last week: Something's Not Right Here: In the 2008 draft, Jersey/B used the sixth selection on Vernon Gholston; in the 2009 draft, Buffalo used the 11th choice on Aaron Maybin, and Denver used the 14th selection on Robert Ayers. All are hybrid defensive end/linebacker types who specialize in rushing the passer, and the three have combined for zero career sacks in the NFL. This year, Jersey/A used the 15th choice of the draft on hybrid defensive end/linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul, who specializes in rushing the passer. Pierre-Paul had just six sacks in his sole season as a major college player, finishing a distant 69th in Division I sacks. Yet in April, no team drafted Antonio Coleman of Auburn, a three-year starter who compiled 22 solo sacks in the SEC, college football's toughest conference. Drafts can be judged three years later. TMQ has a sawbuck that says in three years, the undrafted Coleman will be a more accomplished NFL player than Pierre-Paul, Gholston, Maybin or Ayers. Also undrafted in 2010 was Blue Cooper, who bested Terrell Owens' receiving records at Tennessee-Chattanooga. I would have drafted him for his name alone.
  4. According to Chris Brown, he rolled his ankle. If he isn't walking off on his own power or at least with help, he is going to be done for a while. If its a sprain, odds are its worse than a break.
  5. Finally have a diamond in the rough developing and he is carted off for injury. If they are breaking out the cart, odds are he is done for a while (6-8 weeks min) http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/08/17/nelson-carted-off/
  6. I would go double QB, double HB, double TE Round 1 - Rob Johnson Round 2 - Rob Riddick Round 3 - Ronnie Harmon Round 4 - Robert Royal Round 5 - Mike Williams Round 6 - Erik Flowers Round 7 - Jerry Crafts Round 8 - Obviously this is a dumb response to a dumb post... In the history of time, you can make an argument for any system with any players... I emplore you to take a team of scrubs and turn them into a Super Bowl team... anyone can use studs...

  8. Cary Harris is not gone and actually has a good chance of making the roster as the 5th safety this year.
  9. The sad thing about most of these injuries, is they have little to do with contact. The WR's aren't fully live - they are getting hurt from non-hitting plays (i.e. Huggins came down on his shoulder wrong, Easley landed and twisted his knee). As for the rest of the injuries, it seems the vast majority may be legacy issues still not fully cleared (Wood, Bell, Poz, Ellison). So people who think the extra contact is causing injuries, its not really...
  10. The whole game is confidence not just Trent. There is a fine line between winning and losing and confidence can pull you over the line. The Bills of the early 90's had the confidence to win the game no matter how far they were down (except in January) and won a significant amount of games that they probably shouldn't have. If this team can win 3-4 games early, they could be seriously dangerous because the talent is there. Confidence is everything and I think Chan is really exuding it and it is showing through his players. Denzel Washington in Remember the Titans - "I'm a winner. I'm going to win. "
  11. Okay - if you were to start a rival league (w/ Buffalo) - you would need to go where the NFL is not: Cities w/o NFL and Metro population in mm and rank set up by division. It could be done. California Los Angeles (2) - 12.3mm San Bernadino (13) - 3.2mm San Jose (28) - 1.7mm Sacramento (27) - 1.8mm Pacific San Antonio (29) - 1.7mm Las Vegas (36) - 1.3mm Portland (25) - 1.9mm Austin (40) - 1.2mm North Providence (32) - 1.6mm Columbus (31) - 1.6mm Virginia Beach (33) - 1.6mm Buffalo (42) - 1.2mm Atlantic Nashville (39) - 1.3mm Orlando (30) - 1.6mm Memphis (41) - 1.2mm Louisville (43) - 1.2mm
  12. I agree that 4 RB is heavy, but Bell is looking too good to cut. Unless they move Lynch, I see them keeping 4. I am on the fence w Hardy, as Gailey said he may only keep 5 at WR - meaning he will keep another ST player elsewhere. So I think they keep Huggins over Hardy since he is good on ST.
  13. QB - Edwards, Brohm, Brown RB - Jackson, Lynch, Spiller, Bell FB - McIntyre WR1 - Evans, Jackson WR2 - Johnson, Easley WR3 - Parrish, Huggins (for ST) TE - Nelson, Stupar, Matthews OT - Bell, Green, Meredith, Wang OG - Wood, Levitre, Chambers C - Hangartner, Allen (they will keep a 9th OL, but not sure who) DE - Stroud, Edwards, Carrington, Johnson NT - Williams, Troup OLB - Kelsay, Torbor, Maybin, Coleman ILB - Posluszny, Davis, Mitchell, Moats FS - Byrd, Wilson, Harris SS - Whitner, Scott CB - McGee, McKelvin, Florence, Corner, Lankster K - Lindell P - Moorman LS - Sanborn PS - Roosevelt, Nelson, Calloway, Howard, Harvey, Batten, Woods Notable Cuts - Fitzpatrick, Simpson, Hardy, Shouman, Ellis, Ellison, McCargo

  15. With Owens joining the Bengals, this year we are going to see TD celebrations of unprecedented quality. When you take the 2 biggest showboats in league history and stick them on the same team, I would expect something that could be an HBO special.
  16. http://twitter.com/wyche89/statuses/19762243987 Spiller a ways away
  17. Has anyone considered that Schobel wanted to play all along and Gailey and Nix know? The guy is a seasoned vet, clearly knows the game and stays in great physical shape. Often times good vets "fake" injuries or are "held out" of camp as they don't want to risk getting hurt and the coaches seem "fine" with it, as they are held with a different standard. Could Schobel just be putting up the "facade" of retirement as it is a better story than skipping mini-camp and the start of training camp. Effectively, Edwards could be feeding him the playbook so Schobel is mentally prepped when he returns. Think about it. Schobel skips OTA's, mandatory mini-camp and the start of training camp and he is looked at as a prima donna, above the team, hurting his image and possibly team morale. On the contrary, he pretends to be retiring and "decides at the last minute" he wants to still play because the team "looks promising". It keeps his image from being tarnished and will probably help team morale because they are getting "an unselfish player who is looking to help the team" as well as a quality starter. Conspiracy theorists, start conspiring.
  18. My bet of what Schobel is really thinking about at this time: Think about the following, Schobel is 32, has made a ton of money, has gotten used to the lavish lifestyle and is getting tired of the football scene (as do most people with their jobs after a while). The big problem he is facing is "What am I going to do after football?". As much money as these guys make, they spend it just as fast with the big house, fancy cars, etc. When you turn the spigot off, you either need to find another source of income or cut down the spending. As football season is drawing closer, I think reality is setting in. Does he go get a job making $40K a year and start working his way up the company ladder or does he play for 6 more months for $6mm. Most of this country won't see $6mm in a lifetime and he can make it in 6 months. He can always join the real world next year.
  19. I agree with your reading. It's not that the league is preventing big hits, they just don't want people getting blindsided in the head and neck area. That doesn't mean you can't crush a QB's blind side. It just means you can't go head hunting. If they call it fair, I am for this rule. No one wants see someone break their neck.
  20. Every year we talk about the fact that several top draft picks are holding out for more money. This year it seems a little different. Tomorrow, rookies are supposed to report to training camp and as of right now Troup and Spiller still have not signed. Given the fact that only 12 of the 32 2nds and only 1 of the 32 1sts have signed, would you deem these guys holdouts? One could say that they are, but these guys are looking for a long-term deal and are waiting to find out what they are worth. Does this mean that all of the 1sts and 2nds are holdouts? I think the system is flawed and as a result of the impending lockout next year, there has been a severe lack of signings this year. I find it hard to believe that most of these guys will be signed prior to training camps opening. I feel bad for a lot of these players, as I am sure they are itching to get to camp and are probably waiting on their agents. I am sure there will be a few "real holdouts" (a la Michael Crabtree), but for the most part I would think these guys want to play. Question - if a player such as Spiller wants to come to camp without a contract, are they allowed to do so?
  21. IMO, growing up in Buffalo, all the kids were "Bills" fans by default, but many like other teams or were fair-weather fans. Since I have left Buffalo (and this seems to happen to many people like me who have left), I have become a rabid fan - can't miss a game, constantly checking for updates, etc. What makes me a fan - I don't know: Is it the last thing to hold on to from a city I used to call home? Is it something that will tie me to everyone else from one of the greatest cities? Is it the fact that people from Buffalo and Buffalo itself has been and will always be the underdog city and I am an example of that underdog? Being a Bills fan is something that is in your blood and can't be explained. All I know is if they ever move, I will be totally lost without them.
  22. Boise State's 2 pt conversion statue of liberty to win the fiesta bowl in 2007... Even though they used it on the Bills, the Titans fake punt last preseason - why you would waste a play like this in preseason is beyond me.
  23. I just want to win. I don't care if its Trent, Brohm, Fitz, Brown, or the Chroise (when they bring him back). Of our current choice of QB's, I like to think TE (as of right now) is the best available option. Fitz will never be there, he doesn't have the tools. Brown could get there in 3-4 years. Brohm could be the man as well. TE and Brohm are our best chance of winning. I WANT playoffs and I don't care who gets us there.
  24. Statistics are not the only measure. The Bills offense was designed to be inept. Flashes of Brilliance - How about the start of the 08 campaign - 4-0 start including a 34-10 drubbing of Seattle - 19/30-215-1-0 a 20-16 4th quarter comeback win over JAX - 20/25-239-1-0 a 24-23 4th quarter comeback win over Oak - 24/39-279-1-1 a 31-14 4th quarter comeback win over Rams - 15/25-197-1-1 Then his return to San Diego 23-14 - 25/30-261-1-0 After that game - I felt that he was screwed up from post-concussion syndrome and is head was gone. He should've never played in San Diego. He had a classic case of "non-linear" post-concussion syndrome. Even though he beat KC, the rest of the 08 campaign (including KC) was a disaster. 09 was also a mess - this you can't blame on post-concussion syndrome. At this point he was better. The question is whether or not, by them bringing him back too soon in 08 caused irrepairable harm.
