Um New England and NYJ thumped us bad the last 2 games of the year. I flew in for the New England game in freezing weather to watch them lay down and get their butts kicked. Oh well, was happy to be there but it wasn't pretty.

This is more of Buddy's doing. I can't believe credit is being passed to Overdorf. Building through the draft also means retaining the right guys on your roster and not reaching for over priced free -agents.

Getting drafted by the Bills

This was pretty rough, I just finished watching the game and I was upset with a few things. In particular, Spiller missed (2) blitz pick-up's and nearly got Fitz killed. Bell looked pretty bad in pass protection on 2-3 plays. Defensively, we got 0 penetration and pretty much got dominated up front with the 1's and 2's. One thing I noticed is that we played in base 3-4 / 4-3 all night, I don't think we blitzed at all. On the positive, I think Thigpen played well, and was pretty accurate - without much help from his receivers. Fred Jackson is the man, all around great back, let's just hope Spiller can learn something from him. This will be a long year, and I really hope we are headed in the right direction. We still have a lot of holes and unproven's on both sides of the ball. I remain positive.

Amen - I was thinking the same thing. This kid is impressive - I know it's only one game, but from what I've seen in college, read about in camp and saw last night... I'm excited!

If there is a smokescreen it would be to cover their interest in another player... most likely Gabbert. This would be to prevent a possible tradeup scenario where someone jumps in front of Buffalo to 'steal' their guy.

No problem, that was kind of my take... it was a pretty fair piece from both sides. I loved this signing from day one, for various reasons on the field reasons, but mainly because of the national light it shines on a great organization. I was very high on this kid out of Mizzou- and I believe he is a better fit now than he was a year ago. Sounds like there are several TE's on the wire right now, would not be at all surprised to see us make a move.
