  1. This guy looked very impressive for Pittsburgh in the pre-season. I was very surprised that they cut him and I think he is worth taking a closer look at. I would be very surprised to see this guy clears waivers and if he does for sure will be signed to their practice squad. IF you are not familiar take a look below... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_VWBHeE51I (from 1:02)
  2. They may have been 9-7 but they were outstanding all through the play-off and into the Superbowl, say what you want - but (1) they one their division (2) they were NFC champs.
  3. Yes, in fact the commentators (although not making excuses for AZ) stated that AZ was vanilla and GB at least defensively had game planned.
  4. Defense creating all kinds of turn-over and Rogers looks like an all-pro... deja vu???
  5. Do you have the other (2)? I was at the game last year as well with 3 Cardinal fans - needless to say it was a long ride home.
  6. I had Direct TV for the last couple of seasons, and I am debating renewing vs. going to the bar. I'm out in Gilbert and they're aren't that many sports bars here, although a few just opened up this past year (Tailgaters on Higley Rd. and I think there is another on Val Vista not sure of the name). I hate to pony up another $300 bucks for a subpar team so will see.
  7. Wow great read! Thanks for the reply. I am a little discouraged by the outcome, but I think must people probably expected this due to his age and the lengthy hold-out. Hopefully he can continue to improve, but by the sounds of it, his size (or lack thereof) is going to be an issue when rushing with his hand down.
  8. JW - can you elaborate a bit on Maybin's progress this week. I have not seen much published on his progress, but interested to see how he is coming a long as well as how much we should expect to see him this week. Thanks!
  9. This guy is from Arizona, played ball at ASU and his wife still lives in Arizona. There is no way he wants to play in Buffalo, and I am sure he will be giving the Cards a nice discount should they sign him.
  10. I watched the piece, what was said was Lewis (the Bengals) received alot of calls from other teams wanting Rey, but they turned down those trade offers and drafted him.
  11. Found this on nfl.com... "Thomas George, NFL.com When we talk impact guys, I mean guys that can come in, find a role, produce in it and increase it as the season moves forward. And four player in particular in the second round fit that bill for me. Robiskie in Cleveland gives the Browns sure hands and playmaking at receiver. He will be a gift for Quinn or Anderson, whiever one wins the starting job. Byrd as a corner in Buffalo will produce. The son of a former NFL star, I had the pleasure of visting with him in a personal setting prior to the draft and left impressed with his approach and maturity. On the field, a natural talent. Pat White in Miami will be a fun player to watch inside and on the edges. And LeSean McCoy in Philadelphia is a new toy for both coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb. " I like impact players, escpecially if he can play FS!!!
  12. Housh leaves Seattle with no contract http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/home_NFL.aspx
  13. I often get frustrated when things don't happen as quickly as you would like, but it is clear that teams who break the bank signing FA typically do not find great success. It is the teams that build their nucleus through the draft and add key contributors through FA. Our problem stems from a FO that has struggled with drafting and retaining our picks. We no doubt have a long way to go, but breaking the bank the first couple of days of FA is probably the very least of worries.
  14. I heard a rumor from a reliable source that we had a very large offer out to him last night. Needless to say we are not even mentioned as one of the 4 teams in the hunt. so even IF this is true, it is very discouraging. You guys can chastize me all you want - just passing on some info that I got
  15. Leon Washington Play… Can anyone find the rulebook explaining the situation? I cannot understand how this is NOT illegal touching, and cannot find anything online. The only thing I can find is an NCAA rule states a similar situation, but it says that the player must be airborne and subsequently land out of bounds with the ball in his possession. This rule although obscure does actually make sense. Leon clearly was out of bounds first and then touched the ball. If he made simultaneous possession with the ball and touching out of bounce, or if he caught the ball in the air and landed out of bounds I would agree with the call. If someone can find this rule --- please post. Not sure it would have made a difference on the outcome, but it has been annoying me because (1) I think the call was incorrect (2) If it was, I am more annoyed with April / Jauron for not knowing the rule or at least questioning the call. IV. Airborne B17 has leaped from inbounds and is the first player to touch Team A’s free kick when he receives the ball. He subsequently lands out of bounds with the ball in his possession. RULING: Foul, free kick out of bounds. Team B has these options: it may accept a five-yard penalty at the previous spot with Team A re-kicking; snap the ball at its 40-yard line at the inbounds spot (assuming the free kick was from the 30-yard line); or snap the ball at the inbounds spot five yards from where the ball crossed the sideline. http://www.ncaapublications.com/Upl...2d26b95e6c1.pdf
  16. Not sure if this has been posted, but I can't figure out why the Raiiders didn't go for 2 after Higgens long TD. To me that was a worse decision then not calling timeouts. PS I'm not complaining - just curious
  17. A good portion of this is on the QB's shoulder, 1st year, 2nd year... it doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure Edwards won't let it happen again.
  18. This one is on Edwards as well, he had the best vantage point and as he continues to mature he will need to know to get the snap so this couldn't be challenged.
  19. There was a place in Arizona Mills, but the gear was pretty lame. I would stick with the Internet.
  20. Evans was on BB.com - interviewed by Melvin Fowler a few weeks back - but in hearing Trent speak of him as well as how he has handled his contract situation - I think he is a class act.
  21. Listening to the interviews with Trent, Whitner, Lynch, Evans etc. the leadership and character of this team is amazing in today's sports. You can tell the personal selection and the Jauron coaching staff has done a great job with selecting not only the best ability - but high character team guys and it is paying off on the field. Makes it really enjoyable and easy to cheer for these guys. Just a thought.
  22. Leodis was the best available on our board at 11 and filled a definite need (at the time). I personally wanted them to grab a DE at the spot, but with Long, Gholsten (over-rated), and Harvey off the board it was kind of a no-brainer to go with a CB. Hind-site is 20/20 and going into the draft we were solid at weakside LB with the addition of Mitchell to strong and Crowell sliding to weak (with Ellison on the bench). I REALLY liked our top 2 picks and in the long-run they will be big time players in this league.
  23. I like the guy too, but it's the second week of a very long season! Let's hope he continues to play well for us.
  24. 2-0 is solid for Buffalo, but I agree we need to temper our enthusiasm just a bit. We still have much to improve on, the front seven was pushed around by a few back-ups yesterday. Good news is they are young and will continue to improve.
  25. I trust our war-room as well, just seemed like if Rucker fell to us - he would be a Bill. I know there was questioning around his blocking capabilities - but it's hard to argue with his production as a receiver, NFL bloodlines and red-zone presence. I was more intrigued by Cleveland giving up a 3rd round selection to grab Rucker with Winslow and Heiden on their roster. I just did a little research and learned that Heiden is older than I assumed (31) - so I guess that answers my question.
