And in typical Bills fashion, they whiffed. The way it all went down demonstrates why they have such a piss-poor front office as compared to the perennial successes (Pats, Ravens, Steelers, Giants, Eagles, Parcells, etc.). Had they planned and studied properly, they would've known that they could take a three-down RDE at 11 (Ayers, Orakpko), still get the center they want at 28 (Wood), and pick up passrush help in Round 2 (Barwin or Brown). But of course, Ralph underpays for talent evaluators and coaches, and this is the result. An organization with its head up its a$$ on draft weekend, once again. The Byrd pick is an utter tragedy, and I'm sure Day 2 will be more of the same: running backs, WRs, safeties who can jump over alligator moats on YouTube, etc. Meanwhile ever year the Giants stock up on quality offensive and defensive linemen and oh, guess what, they keep making the playoffs. I understand your frustration...but the Giants haven't drafted an Offensive Lineman OR Defensive Lineman in the First 2 rounds since 2004 (Chris Snee RD2), unless you count Kiwanuka who really is an OLB. It's not the position you draft, it's the player you get. They drafted Osi in Rd 2 in 2003 and Tuck in Rd 3 in 2005 and got two probowlers. Every year, EVERY YEAR, Big Names that people here clamor for drop deep into the draft - for reasons that professional scouts know and understand. These are just NAMES to you.
