Not a bit because if they dont get their act together and get things moving they will hvae no one to blame. Than we can lead the charge in 4 years to run their asses out of town

 Ya wanna rethink that one?

I'll tell you exactly who they'll blame: Bush. Just like the first four years of the Bush administration, the Republicans blamed Clinton for their lack of progress.

Thats right. And then they'll justify any tax hikes because of the Bush administration. Its a great circle jerk.

Its a political, Tag, you're it, to infinity.

From what I've heard from Republicans, with a super majority the Democrats will ensure there are drive-thru abortion clinics, which will be needed after teaching sex education to kindergartners, they'll be riots at Joe the Plumber's house as everyone making less than $250k will be trying to get their welfare checks from him, the new holiday will be Che Guevara Day, the military in Iraq will wave a white flag and retreat in shame, our children will no longer have the choice to become gay but will be forced into it, divorces will skyrocket as gay marriage destroys the meaning of our marriages, and only criminals will be allowed to own guns. What did I miss?

With a Democrat Triumvirate and a super majority. Does anyone think this is good besides the lefties?

A Pelosi, Reed, Obama lead country scares the hell out me. This country would make such a drastic turn left, it will take 20 years to undo the damage on the supreme court, our military, intelligence services and other socialist policies.

If you think Jimmy Carter was bad, just wait, this will be worse.

Couldn't be any worse than 6 of the last 8 years huh?

Nope not a bit. I am tired of this BS that we have seen for almost 20 years now. I am ready to give a party the rope and let them hang themselves with it. Than maybe Americans will wake up and rid washington of both of these parties and finally start electing social moderates and fiscal conservatives or start throwing the screaming radicals out.

Answer me this. Why does the Democratically controlled congress have a 9% approval rating then for the last 2 years?

That's easy many times threatened to be filibustered or vetoed keeps knocking ideas and bills back. And frankly they might as well wait on those ideas and bills to be passed until they take (fingers crossed) total control.

Of course they do. Many people that work with, that have been working with certain senators on getting bills introduced and then hopefully passed. They are all happy to wait just a bit longer for that to happen knowing that their chances of getting it passed in 09. Not having to deal with the republican BS.

It's congress's approval rating not just the approval rating of the majority party. If voters were really so pissed at just the Dem legislators then why are they on the verge of expanding the Dem's majorities in both chambers of congress? I could just as easily argue that the low approval rating is directed at the obstructionist Republican minority. I guess Republicans only stand for "up and down votes" when they are in the majority!

You know, I was going to blame the Republicans too.

But it was gonna be a joke. You're serious, aren't you? :)

There are good things about it and bad things about it, IMO. As a lefty, I prefer it for obvious reasons. My only hope that it will work well, however, is if Obama has an ability to smack Pelosi and Reid around a little bit. And for political reasons, they will realize they have to stop acting like their **** selves. There is a chance of this, because of pressure that can be put on them, and Obama is going to have a ton of power if he wins in the landslide it looks to be now. He is not nearly the raging liberal that you righties believe him to be. He's extremely political, and politically smart, like Clinton was, and will move more to the center. I will bet anyone on it.

I can't stand Pelosi or Reid, even as a lefty, but since Obama is going to be the leader of the party, I'm hoping he won't let them go wild. Without a lot of money available, that's going to help.

One reason it will be good will be because congress won't be in constant gridlock. The right is obviously going to dislike a lot of the final bills because they will get less of what they want but things will get done a lot faster. It's not going to be known for quite sometime whether or not these measures helped more than they hurt. Everyone from both sides will argue like hell over their merits or lack thereof without knowing schit.

Another thing it will likely do is make the right reevaluate itself and (hopefully) return a little to its roots. It got WAY off track for too long and surely this will be a wake-up call. Part of the problem a lot of the conservatives have with Palin as the future of the party is they see it going the wrong way on too many issues because of what she represents.

Personally, I can see why it scares the hell out of the right to have the Dems in control of everything, especially if it's a super Majority, which I think is going to fall just short. But I also think the righties on this board are going to be surprised by Obama even if they hate Pelosi's and Reid's guts, which I do, too.

I really really hope you're right. I am worried that the opposite is true.

If he's a Dem in the Clinton mold, I will not be as scared as I feel now. Clinton had to work the middle because he didn't have as much control as Obama will have.
