Mock Draft version 2.0

Recommended Posts

Now let me start by saying that I like the pick of James Hardy a lot more if the Bills were to trade down. But here is a possible draft scenario if the Bills draft Hardy at 11 and were not able to trade down. I'll try to be very realistic in what rd the player is projected:

#11 RD 1 James Hardy WR IU 6-6 217 40=4.47, 225=18 reps, Vertical=37.5" With phenominal size, he has potential to develop into an elite reciever. Long arms give him great reach. He has the leaping ability of a basketball standout; both attributes help him draw pass-interference penalties. Is and instant red zone threat. Can jump over defenders and has an amazing abilty to snatch to ball out of the air. Also shows the ability to slide and catch the low balls. Shows good speed and rarely gets caught once by a defender.

#41 RD 2 Fred Davis TE USC 6-4 257 40=4.68, 225=24 reps, Vertical=33" Former wide reciever has obvious offensive skills. Runs crisp routes, quickly gets into seems of the defense, catches the ball naturally and thrived in an nfl-type offens. Rarely drops passes and has the agility and quickness to get off the line. Built like Antonio Gates, and models his game after Tony Gonzalez.

#72 RD 3 Mike Pollak C ASU 6-4 301 40=4.99, 225=29 reps, Vertical=25" Improved throughout college, finishing the clear top center prospect of the draft. Has a considerable amount of natural strength and generally gains the physical advantage when he hits a defender first. Shows a good understanding of the game and solid technique, although he has a few holes that will require extra coaching. Blessed with strength and rare athleticism for his position, Pollak seemed to improve with each passing game.

#114 RD 4a Chevis Jackson CB LSU 6' 192 40=4.52, 225=13 reps, Vertical=36" This savvy, experienced player coming from a major collegiate program will be a valuable role player somewhere. Is projected as a 3rd or 4th rd pick: lacks the speed, athletism to be a higher pick. Will be a fine press corner showing strength and the ability to stay close to defenders off the line. Couls step in right away in the right system and he uses solid technique.

#132 RD 4b Owen Schmitt FB WVU 6-2 247 40=4.72, 225=26 reps, Vertical=31.5" Schmitt is truely a throwback fullback who is a devastating blocker and had amazingly broken 10 facemasks in his career at West Virginia. He also lined up as Te on passing downs giving him some versatility. He is projected to go in the 4th or 5th rd. Offers valuable size and experience. Lacks the size and speed to play tailback and is more of a blocker.

#147 RD 5 Rudolph Hardy DE Howard 6-2 270 40=4.72 Another small school defensive end that has put up big numbers against lesser talent. Shows the strength to blow up the TE and get through the OT. Good in run support, and had 9.5 sacks last season. He is climbing up the draft boards as a potential sleeper and a pass rush specialist until he adjusts to the size and speed of the NFL OTs. He is far from a finished product. Needs to get stronger and develope more moves to be an every snap player.

#179 RD 6 King Dunlap OT Auburn 6-9 312 40=5.26, 225=21 reps, Vertical 30" Struggled through an inconsistent senior season, even getting benched after he came back from an ankle injury that forced him to miss 3 games. But he has the size and athletism to warrant a late rd pick as a developental OT prospect. He needs to play with much more aggresiveness and physical play. He was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week following Auburn's 38-13 victory over Tulane Oct. 21, after earning a 99 percent overall grade with four pancake blocks, four cockroach blocks and four rodeo blocks.

#219 RD 7a Andy Studebaker OLB Wheaton 6-3 251 40=4.51, Josh Buchanan, of NFLDraftBible.com, reports the Buffalo Bills are scheduled to meet with Wheaton DL Andy Studebaker. He has huge 07 stats 17.5 sacks, 24.5 taskles for loss and 8 passes defensed. First team all cciw. Small school prospect that is a hard worker and has the skills to make a roster on special teams.

#224 RD 7b Lance Leggett WR Miami 6-3 194 40=4.43 this is way better than I can explain:

#251 RD 7c Paul Smith QB Tulsa 6-1 208 40=4.98, vertical 27, 3 cone 7.02 Had inflated numbers with Tulsa's pass happy system. Is a natural playmaker with good mechanics who can deliver the ball with surprising zip.

I would be very happy with this draft overall. I did't let any player slide for than a half a rd in the projections that i used. Go ahead and tear it apart:)

Yeah that draft would excite me!

As much as I like Devin Thomas and his overall game......I like what Hardy brings to the table. He would be a huge redzone threat! And thats where Buffalo failed most of all last year.......I can count several games they could have won last year if they had a redzone threat.

I definately want James Hardy is a Bills uniform. And to be honest I dont care where Buffalo drafts him.

Yes let's invest our 1st rounder on a guy who beats women and children

That is not true. The proper research has been done...

Another option in rd 3 if Pollak is not available is Josh Johnson QB San Diego. I like his athletism. He could be one heck of a backup and be happy playing with his favorite cousin.

Maybe I can talk him into a first round corner? :D:thumbsup:

Speaking of corner, I heard that Dallas really wants DRC. This is the ideal spot for Dallas to trade down for him. Its possible that the Bills can realistically get both of Dallas 1st rd picks straight up. If that is the case I'd take Hardy at #22 because that is about right where he should be drafted if you went to the big board.

#28 Kenny Phillips FS Miami 6-2 212 40=4.48, 225=19 reps, Vertical=34 Excells with making big plays by making big hits and in coverage. Is fast enough and confident enough to also play CB, although he lacks the savvy to recognize recievers fakes in one on one coverage. Very good tackler and plays the run with the mentality of a LB. Phillips has the rare ability to be successful in both coverage and Run support.

Its more of a luxary pick based on his potential impact on a cover 2 defense. Teamed him up with Whitner, and Ko can play too moving whitner inside on nickel, dime, and quarter packages.
