What makes the land annexed after 1948 any more or less Israeli than that annexed in 1967? Understand THAT little datum, instead of picking an arbitrary date and saying "This is when the borders of Israel were set!", and maybe you'll actually gain some insight into the Arab-Israeli conflict. That's a good point, another thing I wouldn't be surprised that isn't discussed in Israeli schools. Part of my original answer post was on that topic, the new Israeli historians write on that very topic. The right wing is very upset with them about it. Guess what, it wasn't the Christians or Jew who demanded it. A good book on this subject is "While Europe Slept". Water is a pretty important resouce over there. When Israel's neighbors were deciding to do something about it Isreal launched a sneak attack against them, swallowed up a ton of land, and now refuses to teach their kids about it, which is the main point of this thread. Just look at Gaza. The jews moved out and gave it back. Now it is the epicenter of peace and progress, you know, when they aren't launching rockets that can't be aimed from there. From his post: "Israel seems to be just as historically challenged as other nations" He kinda made this specifically about Israel at that point. Since the story and OP had nothing to do with Israel, but the UK, I have to believe he was going out of his way to criticize Israel. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I just found it odd that his first reaction to someone denying the holocost or rewriting history was to say "Oh yeah, well Israel is bad too!!!" And while most of them were the result of some kind of revolution to overthrow a monarch or despot, the socialist ideals aren't in place by force: people vote for socialists governments all over the world.
