The Double Trade Down:

The teams with two 2nd Rounders are the Broncos (37, 61) and Vikings (48, 51).

I think the Broncos moved up to 15 to position themselves for a Tight End, their #1 need (maybe moving up on draft day to get Vernon Davis, or staying put and getting WR, their #2 need (most likely Santonio Holmes, Ohio St but possibly Chad Jackson).

If they had a shot at Vernon Davis at #8, they would be our trade partner, most likely giving us the 37 (530 points) and the 15 (1050) for our 8th pick (1400)

We'd have Day One picks as follows:#15, 37, 42, 70, 73.

Since we are in No Man's Land at #15, we trade once more. The Vikes want a cornerback and a quarterback. What better place to get one than at 15?

Jimmy Williams' stock puts him at ~#15 right now, and Antonio Cromartie or Tye Hill can be had there as well. It's possible that Cutler is there, too.

The Vikes package their second rounders, #48 (420) and #51(390) and their 3rd Rounder (#83, 175 points, total points 985) for our #15 (1050 pts.)

The Bills now have seven Top 100 draft picks. Who's probably available there?

37--Davin Joseph, OG; Nick Mangold, C; Gabe Watson, DT; Max Jean-Gilles, OG

42--Darnell Bing, S; Ko Simpson, S; D'Qwell Jackson, ILB

48--Jonathan Scott, OT;John McCargo, DT; Abdul Hodge, ILB; Taitusi Lutui, OG

51--Claude Wroten, DT; Rodrique Wright, DT; Derek Hagan, WR

70--Charles Spencer, OG; Cedric Griffin, CB;

73--Orien Harris, DT; Elvis Dumervil, DE; Daryn Colledge, OT; Devin Hester, CB

83--Will Allen, OG; Jeremy Trueblood, OT; Martin Nance, WR; Matt Bernstein, FB

Now package all the Day 2 picks that are probably going end up being garbage & get 1 more 3rd-rounder! :P;)

We should just keep trading down until we have 28 picks in Rounds 5 through 7.

Why not parlay those valuable 2006 round 5-7 draft picks for future value?

The Ravens need a punter and the Chargers need a long snapper. Some wise trades in the late rounds, and more in 2007, and 2008 could yield us the entire first round (picks 1-32) in the year 2144. Can you say Super Bowl 2146 Champions. Yeah Baby.

The key to the draft is where the QB's (I think they are over hyped) go.

The Titans have Volek who is a good QB. They can wait on a QB until a later round.

The Jets might take the a QB if the top linemen are gone.

The Raiders, I believe, do not want a QB. The got the best of the rookie QB's last year(IMHO). They lost Ted Washington, Sapp is old, and their DE's can be improved. I think they go with the top DT.

If none or if one QB is gone Detroit could very well want one.

When the Bills are on the clock Cardinals, Vikings and possibly Dallas(no depth behind Bledsoe) could be calling to get ahead of Detroit.

The Cardinals would offer a 4th(107) and 5th(142)

The Vikings would have to offer one of their 2 second round picks (48) and and 5th (149). That is a good offer.

The Cowboys would have to offer their 2nd round pick (49) plus a pick in 2007. Likely their 3rd round pick.

A lot of the draft depends on who the Titans pick and secondarily who the Jets select. Teams may trade up for a QB but some of the other positions they will not trade so far. Selections would have to fall in a certain way for a good trade down to take place.

If you want picks the best way to get them is not have the QB's drafted.

Mark I was actually thinking, we should just keep trading our 1st rounder for a 1st and 2nd next year. Think about the math. And if we kept trading all first rounders for a 1st and 2nd the next year, in only 6 years we would have all 1st and 2nd round draft picks.

But you know people would still B word about something.

Year 1 - 1

Year 2 - 2

year 3 - 4

year 4 - 8

year 5 - 16

year 6 - 32
