He is recovering from a hip injury earlier this season but looks as though he is almost back. He did not participate in the position drills which is a bit of a concern. Allen has great size, can play corner and safety and was predicted by many to be the #1 safety drafted last year but he decided to stay in school. I'm guessing that he will be one of those guys who climbs up the charts as the draft approaches, kind of like Phillip Rivers and Matt Jones. Once teams are convinced he is healthy enough to play next year he will start moving up. If he runs drills at his pro day he will help himself a lot. He would have been the number one safety last year and would have been a very high first rounder if not for his injury. He was playing corner only because of a team need, and was seen by most a sure first rounder at either position. Team captain. His injury was felt as if we had lost Peyton Manning when Manning was playing. Assuming he is healed he will be a catch for whoever gets him. From what I'm hearing about him at the combine he is shooting up the charts. Good for him, but not so good for my hope that we would steal him in the third. It still fairly recent that it happened so he'll need some time to not only fully recover, but also to adjust to the speed of the NFL game. Wouldnt take him in the first or second, but if he's still hanging around when our second 3rd rounder hits...we should at least consider him.
