Donohoe was a bust!

Recommended Posts

:P Donohoe will go down as one of the worst G.M.'s the Bills ever hired. He had one good draft while in Pittsburgh, was known for his battles with Bill Cowher, and showed his arrogance and lack of judgment while with the Bills for 5 years. Ralph probably tosses in his sleep having visions of Bill Polian and A.J. Smith, two of the best in the NFL that he let go. How could a G.M. never address the offensive line needs and when he did, he drafted an over-weight bust like Mike "another slice of pizza please" Williams. What has become of Ben Sobieski, Gresinger, and the rest of the sub par linemen. :w00t: How stupid to think that you can draft Losman and McGahee, when their is nobody to pass block or open up holes for your RB. Watching McGahee run with the football was like trying to watch Chris Farley squeeze through a manhole. Donohoe drafted Milloy and vincent, both players with credentials but past their prime. He continued to draft defensive ends that could not rush the passer, including Denney, Kelsey, etc. I hope that Donohoe does not ever land another GM job or scouting job for that matter, but instead is stocking cans in a grocery store. In five years, the Bills and Oilers are the only teams not to go to the playoffs. Donohoe turned the Bills into an expansion team. Now Ralph has hired 80-year old Marv Levy. What's next? Bring Jim Kelly and Thurman out of retirement.

I read over your feedback and as much as I think TD's time will be looked at as a failure the overall 'body of work" will actually be the groundwork for success. In his tenure he drafted the QB, RB and WR that will be key components to successful teams in the next 5 to 7 years. This team will have 5 or 6 picks inside the top 105 picks in the 2006 draft and has open holes on only the offensive line and at the DT spots. TD came in handicaped with a horrible salary cap mess which he resolved, made moves to make the team competitive and this year was put into a bad situation where key injuries took away the heart of the defense. You could not reasonably expect to pay Jonas Jennings and Pat Williams salaries that would put the team back in cap hell. So although his tenure will be looked at as a failure the key pieces of future winning teams has been put into place and next year this team will be more then competitive and be back in playoff contention. Speak evil of the man and I do understand your frustation, but look back at the overall work before you bury the guy.
