Is the Ralph turning into the Meadowlands?

There are a ton of immature jackasses attending the games. Some think the tailgating mentality means drinking themselves blind.

It really picked up steam during the glory years of 1988-1994. Before that, it was Monday night games or Jets games. Now it's most every game.

It's too bad a few idiots will end up ruining it for everyone else. Pretty soon beer wont be sold at the games anymore. For those of us that like a couple with the game and can manage to behave ourselves, we will be screwed because of the morons.

That's almost a requirement. Something needs to happen to get that place in order.

I hadn't been to a game in about 10 years prior to last year's Jets game.. I was fairly embarrassed myself. I love the Bills, but it got to the point where I didn't want to be in that stadium. I've been dying to take my little girl to a game because she loves football... but I don't want to explain why the "sick man in the hallway is barfing everywhere and can't walk right."

Hello, Bills fan form England here.

From what I'm reading this sounds like its going the way English Soccer did years ago. The 70's and 80's saw a major fight amongst rival fans at almost every match. This resulted in fences being put up around all the grounds so people couldnt invade the pitch to fight. The fences came down after 96 fans lost their lives in "the Hillsborough Disaster" when there was a massive crush and people couldnt get out. Following this all English soccer teams were banned from playing anywhere in Europe for a number of years after the Heysel Disaster in which 39 Italian fans died.

Nowadays opposition fans are strictly segregated and kept away from each other before, during and after games. No alcohol is served during a game, kick off times of potential trouble games are rearranged to start before the pubs open.

Lets hope this mindless hooliganism doesnt spread to the NFL. Its overtaken all soccer in most of Europe - keep your eyes on the World Cup next year -Germany 2006 where the top hooligans from England, Holland, Turkey, Germany and a few more will be there for a fight with opposing fans. There are currently over 3000 England "supporters" who have to give up their passports 5 days before England play so they cant travle abroad. The rest of the bad boys have been on thier best behaviour because they dont wan to be banned form the World Cup in 2006

Sorry to be long winded

Welcome aboard, Steve, and thanks for the different perspective. I'm hoping it never gets like that over here, but considering the amount of advertising $$$ beer/liquor companies pour into the NFL's coffers, I can't see an alcohol ban until something really bad happens.

Personally? You couldn't pay me to sit in the 100-level scoreboard endzone at the Ralph. I've had seats in 108/109 for six years now, and while there are a few 'colorful metaphors' hurled about from time to time, the only time I've ever seen anything close to fisticuffs break out in our section was during Bledsoe Bowl I. Way too many Pats fans in our house (fresh off their first SB win and not shy about letting us know it), plus watching the Bills get blown off the field, made for a bad mix that day...

The end zone? Different story, between the visiting fans and the bus trips. "Fight Club" every Sunday. I think that's part of the reason they turned the 200-level sections into the "Rockpile" - hoping more season-ticket holders equals fewer problems.

I wouldn't call them Bills fans. I'd call them drunks with a Bills Jersey or hat on. It all seems to be part of the culture that a rivalry means you fight , rather than play hard . I doubt either of these guys could spout off stats of the game or previous games or years. They just use the games as ways to show how stupid they are. NEWS FLASH No oponent no game. They call that practice.

We tailgated at the back ECC lot. Lots of grass, open space, very few cars, and a very clean port o john for the ladies.. Little bit of a walk to the stadium, but well worth it for the kids to have a great tailgating experience.

Overall great day. We got a teensy bit of beer spilled on us waiting outside the gate, but certainly not on purpose or done because the guy was hammered, he just got hit. And I have to admit I had a beer in my hand as well lol

Except for very few cars, and your long walk, and I have more than one Women's ONLY clean restroom, that sounds like Hammer's Lot. Perhaps next game you might consider supporting a fellow TBD'er.

Same here, Lori. Jeeziz, I like beer, the Bills, and a good time as much as anyone, but what I witnessed last Sunday was WAY over the line...Buff News said 128 were "escorted" outta RWS. I've got to believe 127 were from the scoreboard endzone area.
