Buffalo got a Shake Shack in the last year or so, while it was good but the hype surrounding it and long lines were definitely not worth it.

The one in Syracuse opened about a month ago. I've only gone twice, but both those times it cost me $15-$20 for a burger, fries and a shake/drink. It was good, but I'll stick with my $6/$7 Biggie Bag from Wendy's.

We got Jack in the Box now in ChicagoLand... Hasn't that been mostly a LeftCoast establishment...

They are headquartered in San Diego. I took part once in a taste test review at their corporate headquarters lol we were invited due to our affiliations with cub scouts.  A group of us went and tested a chiabatta chicken sandwich. It was massive and waaaay too heavy. 1 could feed 2 people big lol

they axed it almost immediately from the menu as I recall

the best item on their menu are the egg rolls. Of all things. But they are really good 🙂

The one thing I missed living in California. Delta Sonic

The one thing I miss living in Buffalo. In N Out Burger

if I ever left socal I would miss the abundance of great Mexican food. The mom and pop places. Hidden gems.

from WNY I miss Friday fish fries  a lot. Do they still do fundraisers selling them? that was a treat when I lived there.

that and WNY fireman carnivals BBQ chicken (Cornell style)

I'm not familiar with any Fish Fry fund raisers, but during Lent, all you see are ads for the Friday Fish Fry, and the inevitable 3 times in 40 days "Who has the best Fish Fry in WNY" post.

Fireman Carnivals are the best! I grew up with the Marilla Carnival in my back yard, literally. My driveway was next to the entrance of the Marilla Fireman's Park.
