I loved Joe, but wouldn't put him in the category of "royalty"

Check his stats. And his numbers were depressed because in the mid-70s they were OJ dominant.

Fergy was a top QB in the league for a number of years.

Jack, Jim and Josh - we've enjoyed some real royalty at the QB position over the decades.

Don't need to tell me, I watched every game.  Hardest Bills loss for me was the playoff game at the end of the 1980 season.  Joe was positively heroic in that game and I felt so bad for him.

But I don't put him in the category of "Royalty" - that's very subjective but that's where I draw the line.

Yeah, in his best year he threw 26 Td's!

But ,in the same year he threw 25 interceptions! So there is that. Lol

Joe Ferguson was never ,and I mean never, was considered one of the best Qb's in the league.

The only thing that could keep him, would maybe be if he started having kids soon. Harder to move once you start planting those roots.

Looks like we will be rooting for some roots

Ok, perhaps as a kid I remembered him too fondly.  But he could sling it.

And by the way, Jack Kemp’s stats are pretty horrific.
