Yeah... But what's the rotation?

😆... Still scuzzy...

Huh? Rotation? I wore a tie almost daily in high school, then for almost my entire working life. If it’s not something you are personally comfortable with, that’s fine. But it’s not as though it’s extreme or odd in any way. Like anything else, you clean it when you need to. Pretty simple.

The tone-deaf US Department of Transportation:

OIP.77jMed4oHUIex8YEZVG1UwHaE8?pid=Api&f

What does the Department of Transportation have to do with providing sterilized pajamas to first class passengers?

Anyway, the airplanes are cleaned after every flight.

That is the first group of people that come aboard after deplaning.

Lavs are always cleaned and sprayed.

They are sterilized over night.

If there is an issue with cleanliness, it is put in the maintenance logbook and must be cleared before the next flight.

We would never accept an airplane that had some noticeable sanitary issue.

Given the oxygen cleanliness, I suggest they are much less threatening than the average upper end hotel room.

Worked for me, but I admit I have absolutely no interest in some missive from some "influencer" who voices an opinion yet has not idea.

Ties don't get cleaned well enough just like airplanes... Dry cleaning doesn't get rid of bacteria...

No wonder the blood flow is lacking...😉😜

KeyWord here: "SYMBOL"

"Despite being a symbol of smartness and professionalism, neckties may not be so good for your health. They can transmit bacteria from medic to patient more so than a shirt sleeve, and too-tight tie shave also been found to increase pressure in the eye, possibly leading to an increased risk of glaucoma. Researchers in a small 2018 study found tight ties could also reduce blood flow to the brain by 7.5 per cent."

"Should you stop wearing neckties?—wearing a tight necktie reduces cerebral blood flow"

This explains it! 😆🤣

If you start to feel dizzy, take your tie off!

Are you suggesting we all abandon ALL of our clothing, then? This is a family kind of place!

No! Just the hierarchy & status symbols.

Symbols are just symbols.  Let's promote function over form.

Trying to shoe horn the golden age into today's world would be a functional disaster... I don't want your nasty tie falling on my face during a flight... lol

Well I guess that settles it then. I’ll have to start wearing a tie when I fly and gyrate wildly trying to slap people in the face with it. Just thinking ahead….Probably best to wait until after takeoff.   :)

I’m not into status or label, but I warn people who are: Things are not always what they appear. In fact, the first appearance can be very misleading from my experience. I learned early in my working life that the guys with the fancy BMW’s were often 60 days late on the payments, and the old guy driving the clunker to the early bird buffet just might be loaded.

Roll your eyes forever.

Know the situation, and how it is handled, every day all the time.

Otherwise, nobody with any intellect cares, but keep rolling.

I'll pass along a travel tip for clothing that I discovered a few years ago and has worked out well. If you are traveling between a cold and hot climate (like departing Buffalo in the winter to the Caribbean) pick up a pair of casual/outdoor/athletic khakis that zip the pant legs off and become shorts. It works out great trying to shield yourself from the brutal windchills in the morning but then get off where it's 90s a humid. Especially if going to a place like Punta Cana where you deplane right on the tarmac and into a shuttle bus.

Ties are nasty. Who cleans a tie!

https://advancestudy.org/do-doctors-wear-ties/

Ties are germ vector:

"...The primary concern driving the decline in tie-wearing among doctors is hygiene. Numerous studies have demonstrated that ties can harbor significant amounts of bacteria, including potentially harmful pathogens like Staphylococcus aureus (Staph) and Clostridium difficile (C. diff).  ..."
