There are still so many people on TSW who are utterly clueless about football. Benford, on the other hand, has been shite. The light is out in his eyes. He looks like he is just trying to survive the headache. That play where Bishop had to shoe-string tackle Collins last night.......2024 Benford helps tackle that guy. He doesn't want it and when he has to make a tackle he gets up looking like he's just seen a ghost. Scairt. Gregg has a crazy PFF grade which I don't think matches my eye He's definitely probably a top 15 guy but it's all because of his ability to make plays in the backfield on running backs.. which isn't even doing as much But his pass rushing for an 80 million player is not something that I would throw it for a player who can't get to the quarterback consistently That's a lot of money for a guy who's probably not even going to get 9 sacks Quote

He was slow to get up a couple times and I remember saying something like "Geebus Christian, take it easy before you hurt yourself young man". He kept it up for another week or two and has seriously tailed off since then. The only good that came of it was that one big win and the fact that Tre White and Hairston followed his lead and have ben sticking their faces in the fan all year. Although with Hairston now concussed, maybe it wasn't all that good of a thing. Fortunately all concussions aren't the same. Benfords concussion in the AFCCG was one of the most concerning I've ever seen in an NFL game. Extending him a month after seeing THAT was just Beane being Beane. He is far too concerned about his perception. He's got some Art Modell in him that way. He wants everyone to love him and eventually that does a lot more harm than good. Quote

With the cap around $300M this offseason and very few producing DE's available I bet he would still have gotten at least the same deal in UFA. Benford coming off this season might be looking at a one year prove it deal and if Strong and Hairston finished well the Bills might have let him walk. Rousseau's career so far is very comparable to Calais Campbell.........who didn't start his run of All Pro years until age 28........and is IMO a future HoF'er. Quote

Yes and Calais Campbell is another 6 ft 7 guy from Miami But he filled out his frame to a 310 lb beast who could play every single position along the defensive front In any system or front Greg has kept the body of a defensive end he's definitely never maxed out his frame as 275.. and he's not an explosive pass rusher off the edge He might be better suited if he did bulk up to 290 + playing outside and pass rushing on the inside And maybe his career would look different 6 ft 7 while being a former high School safety his athleticism should be on full display ... if it's not... Maybe he should bulk up Quote

It may not work but we’ve seen him play at an elite level. Hopefully we see it again. Yeah I think you and @HappyDays are kinda' holding onto your opinion from when they signed him. I was against the extension after the horrific concussion in the AFCCG. The juice wasn't worth the squeeze. The reality is that he is playing like a guy who was going to get low-balled in free agency this winter and would be signing a one year deal after the compensation formula period in May. Zero picks, Zero passes defensed and a 110 passer rating when targeted is not getting you paid. Quote

I think we've seen that their tighter spacing hurts their individual sack numbers. For Rousseau it doesn't allow him to use that huge first stride and find open lanes to make plays horizontally. But when you have a couple limited, undersized LB's you can't really roll wide 9. Regardless, he needs an edge bender opposite him. Instead the Bills have drafted guys like Boogie, Epenesa and Landon Jackson who lack that ability. Quote

Best Edge defender is kind of a slight overstatement One of the 10 best sure Top 7 in run stuff last year edge... Top 11 year before Not in the top seven right now ... There's some top Edge guys who get 20 plus run stuff's consistently Get PFF has him rated as the highest but I take that with a grain of salt... Greg has never reached those highs ... A top five seven run stuffing edge.. there's a big difference between number one and him whether it's myles Garrett or whoever Garrett stops the run much better consistently over the last 3 years Edited 40 minutes ago by Buffalo716 Quote
