I play left handed.  Bubba rocks.  Phil, not so much.

You don't like Phil? I'm completely shocked! Pretty sure you didn't have a problem with him until you were told to.

nah.  never liked him.  pretty certain the sleazy gambler in ?caddy shack or one of those golf "comedies" is based on him.  plus he did insider training and joined LIV.  He always seems phony to me.  He WAS an excellent player tho...now Bubba, what you see is what you get.

We've had 3 fine dining restaurants close in the area.  One with a rooftop bar and great view.

I'm pretty sure it was the Liv part that makes you dislike him. I just have a hunch.

Sigh. Educate yourself. Hysterics are not a good look for a man your age.

it was an under the table deal.  many players hated it.  McElroy the most prominent.

from CNN

Former US President Donald Trump, whose courses have been used extensively by LIV Golf, celebrated the news, writing in all capital letters on his social media platform Truth Social: “Great news from Liv Golf. A big, beautiful, and glamorous deal for the wonderful world of golf. Congrats to all!!!”

But some were not as positive. “Tell me why Jay Monahan basically got a promotion to CEO of all golf in the world by going back on everything he said the past 2 years,” US golfer Dylan Wu said. “The hypocrisy. Wish golf worked like that. I guess money always wins.”

Fellow American Wesley Bryan said he felt “betrayed.”

“Love finding out info on twitter. This is amazing. Y’all should be ashamed and have a lot of questions to answer,” Bryan wrote.

“I feel betrayed, and will not be able to trust anyone within the corporate structure of the PGA TOUR for a very long time.”

Other golfers saw the humorous side in the news. “I’ve grown up being a fan of the 4 Aces. Maybe one day I get to play for them on the PGA Tour!” Joel Dahmen said on Twitter, making reference to one of the teams participating in the LIV Golf series.

so you've never gone to the porter cup and live in WNY?  it's free for goodness sake.  perhaps the player quality has decreased some...used to be right up there with the walker cup.

and no.  I don't like a US president to broker a deal between the Saudi's and the PGA in the white house.  of course it failed like so many of his other "deals".

Ever been at a big tournament?  If you golf, you need to.  You're welcome:

oh yeah, and this about the White House and the merger

https://heavy.com/sports/golf/adam-scott-on-pga-liv-merger/

Adam Scott, veteran PGA Tour player and member of the Tour’s player advisory board, has confirmed that negotiations with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF)–the backer of LIV Golf–have essentially gone silent since a high-profile meeting at the White House this past February. Despite that meeting, which included key figures such as Tiger Woods, Commissioner Jay Monahan, and PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan, no tangible progress has emerged.

FEDERAL WORKFORCE TO SHRINK BY 300,000

From The Hill newspaper,

By the end of 2025, the Trump administration likely will have shed around 300,000 workers, Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor told Reuters on Thursday.

The mass departures, which Kupor claimed were largely accounted for by voluntary buyouts rather than firings, would constitute a 12.5 percent reduction of the federal workforce from when President Trump was inaugurated in January.

That percentage is a bit of an exaggeration as the Biden Administration went on a massive hiring spree as they headed out the door. So the 12.5 percent reduction will be down from an all-time high.

Othewise, it’s so much winning. Reuters had reported earlier that 154,000 workers had taken the buyout offer. Reuters also reports that there are some 2,400,000 non-military federal government workers.
