Bills' 2017 Training Camp Discussion - Week 2

Recommended Posts

@SalSports

Peterman just threw a ball he never should have. Red zone (so not much room). Over the middle into double coverage and high....

...The rookie QB generally makes good decisions when he throws, but just a reminder that he is still a rookie and makes poor decisions, too.

@ChrisBrownBills

Lawson spin move in full effect. Beat Dawkins on 1-on-1 pass rush. #Bills

@JaySkurski

Dion Dawkins looked good during pass-rush drills, including shutting down Shaq Lawson. Progress for the rookie. #Bills

I am glad to hear it, hopefully Dawkins is starting to get comfortable at RT and is adjusting to the speed in the NFL a bit. It is still early, but its encouraging that he is showing signs of improvement already.

I hope he develops quickly in camp and through preseason games because I certainly have seen quite enough of Jordan Mills at RT.

Tyrod 11 v 11: Would be sack, low throw on swing route (pressure from Shaq), then Dareus tackle for no gain on Jonathan Williams run

@JaySkurski

That great start to practice is long gone for the offense, which is struggling big time to complete anything at the moment. #Bills

@SalSports

A Shaq sack. Again. Then Preston Brown and Ramon Humber get signals crossed and Jonathan Williams wide open in end zone for TD

Walter Powell has returned. Just caught a WR screen.

#Bills practice done for the day. Thx for following. O started strong, D excelled down the stretch. Shaq, Streater, Tolbert were standouts

@SalSports

Bills have done a healthy dose of 11-on-11 scrimmaging already this camp (no tackling). But today is the longest/most I've seen yet.

Dareus: hamstring feeling a lot better. Easing back in and getting into it. #Bills

@JoeBuscaglia

#Bills DL Marcell Dareus on his hamstring: Feels a lot better. Easing back in. I should have been drinking more water, to be honest.

BREAKING: #Bills DL Marcell Dareus just called Kyle Williams his work wife. "I want him to know that."

#Bills DL Marcell Dareus: If anything, I have something to prove to myself, my teammates, and our fans.

#Bills DL Marcell Dareus on DL coach Mike Waufle: He's a motivator. Very strategic... no-nonsense guy. He's a Marine, do it the right way.

@viccarucci

Marcell Dareus says "has no time, no space in his mind" to worry about doubts people have about his health, off-field behavior. #Bills

[bN] Blitz: "The progression, the development with Seantrel continues," #Bills coach McDermott says of the team's OT

http://buffalonews.com/2017/08/01/crohns-disease-control-seantrel-henderson-impressing-bills-camp/

PITTSFORD -- The future of Seantrel Henderson's football career has truly become a 24-hour struggle.

As he adjusts to living with Crohn's disease, it's not enough for Henderson to simply report each day for practice and film study. He has to work just as hard to maintain the weight needed to play offensive line in the NFL.

"I have a meal plan," Henderson said after a recent training camp practice at St. John Fisher College. "Meats and greens every day, protein shakes, a lot of fruit. As long as I keep gulping up a lot of everything, and getting my calories in, I'm good to go. I can keep my weight up."

At his lowest weight after being diagnosed, Henderson dropped to 280 pounds. He weighs 345 today -- a testament to how hard he's worked.

TOP 3 THINGS TO KNOW FROM DAY 5 AT BILLS CAMP

Despite his soft spoken manner, Marcell Dareus, who returned to practice Tuesday, sounds determined to prove he can still be a dominant player in the NFL.

@MatthewFairburn

The Bills wrapped up day 5 of training camp. Here are a dozen observations for you, friends: http://trib.al/XiqINEQ

@JoeBuscaglia

Vic had a gem -- Tyrod's inability to find open receivers is partially the result of his inability to find them. Go figure.

Just give the man credit for an astute and analytical observation that could only be offered by a seasoned professional journalist.

@JoeBuscaglia

Tyrod struggles again, Dareus returns, and, of course, #FreeLoganThomas. 7 observations from Day 5 of #Bills camp: http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/joe-b-7-buffalo-bills-training-camp-observations-day-5-8117

Day 5 MVP: DE Jerry Hughes
- I didn’t mention him much throughout the seven observations, but Hughes was dominant throughout the day. He got to the quarterback for a sack on three separate occasions, flashing the speed and bending ability that makes him such a talented player. This is a good start for him, and for what the Bills hope will be a bounce back season.

Day 5 LVP: G John Miller
- The third-year right guard has had four really good days of practice in a row, but Tuesday was not one in the same as the beginning of camp. Miller really struggled out of his stance, as did most of the offensive line with the exception of Dawkins, Richie Incognito, and Ryan Groy.

Up Next: Day 6 of training camp on Wednesday, August 2 at 8:45 am at St. John Fisher College. The practice is open to the public.
