NFL investigating Giants for possible walkie-talkie violation https://www.sny.tv/giants/news/nfl-investigating-giants-for-possible-walkie-talkie-violation/211256094 The NFL is investigating whether or not the Giants broke the league's rules when head coach Ben McAdoo used a walkie-talkie on the sideline to call plays in to Eli Manning during New York's 10-7 win over the Cowboys on Sunday, according to a league source. The radio transmitter in Manning's helmet was not working for a couple of plays early in the fourth quarter, so McAdoo used a walkie-talkie to relay the plays to his quarterback. Dirtbag Posted December 17, 2016 Share Posted December 17, 2016 they should totally let quarterbacks use walkie-talkies on the field. during the play, they could clip them into a little holster on their belts. then the coaches could yell things out from the walkie-talkies to try to get the defense to jump offsides. This is not cheating, they are already using electronic transmission, switching to a hand held device changes none of that. If the league penalizes them it is complete BS. If the league penalizes them it is complete BS. What you're not thinking about is that the League controls the electronic communication. If it goes down, the League is supposed to make sure both teams can't use it. If the Giants used their own devices to get around that, it's a violation. Also, if you're using your own walkie-talkies, there's the potential you can change the frequency to listen in on the opposing team's Coach-to-QB playcall. None of that can happen if you're only using League-controlled equipment, which is one of the reasons the League controls it. They should be penalized, it's not BS.
