Comparison to Pats - 2001

I know it may be dumb to compare the Bills to the Pats since the Bills have not yet won against an elite team but I was thinking about the Pats and their run in 2001 and the similarities to our current run.

The year before, the Pats were 5-11. (We were 6-10 last year). In 2001, they started 1-3 (we started 0-4). Then, they won 10 of the last 12 including 6 in a row at the end to finish 11-5. We have won 9 of the last 11 including 6 in a row (hopefully 7 after the Steelers game).

Interesting, huh?

They remind me more of the 2000 Ravens:

great D, great ST,

decent O: journeyman QB, great rookie RB, decent OL... we've got better WR's, they had Shannon Sharpe.

Both teams struggled on O, then got red-hot going into the playoffs.

The sky's the limit if we can make it!

The 2001 Patriots also had a great D and a real great Special Teams....

and a unknown QB who figured out how to manage a game effectively.

Remember it was Adam Vinateri who won two back to back games in that

playoffs (including the superbowl) for the Patriots.
