This is the guy we should've hired as our OL coach last year - I bet Nutt could have really supported and raised the play of Wood, Wang and Levitre..... Most likely QB coach Same thing with the Jets, they hired Sporano to be the OC yesterday when Shotty Jr said he wasn't coming back. RyanC883 Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) I know Modkins has the OC title, but he is just clipboard-holder-boy, Chan has been the one calling the shots. I'm not as critical of Chan's play calling as some (I would like to see some changes, particularly more plays from under center, and some play action pass game) but I think it may be a good idea to hand over play calling to someone else so he can be more of a true head coach rather than just an overseer of the offense. They need to have someone else calling the plays. HC/Coordinators rarley work out in the NFL. Chan is way too pass happy. Spiller averages 4-6 yards a carry and sees 12-15 in a game??? It's bizzare. Throwing on 3rd and 1 every time. Why not give White or McIntyre the ball, or QB sneak, or have Brad Smith throw the ball EVER. The offense suprised teams in the first 1/2 of the season, but then Gailey never adjusted while the other teams did, as he kept calling the same plays over and over and over again in a very predictiable manner.
