The Bills are 5-3 and lost 2 by 3 points

Ya but even the Broncos aren't completely out of it yet. Any team at this point can be happy w/ the right focus...maybe there are 5 or so that can't but the point remains.

And as someone else pointed out - we've won two close ones. Lose those and we would be tied with Denver wouldn't we? I don't remember their record off hand. We are in a meaty area of the standings. Unfortunately there are a lot of teams with both depth and experience around us too, and a few young teams with explosive playmakers. To come full circle though, the Denver example shows how much every play counts and a couple good bounces can put us ahead of any of those teams.

If you break a team down to the cornerstone positions of qb, LT, and de/OLB (pass rusher) we still have to find the answer for 2 of those. Even if you are a fitz believer it's tough to make a run with 2/3 up in the air. You can scheme around talent and earn some added victories but it's hard to do week in and week out.

Even if you are right, why waste so much time thinking about it? Seriously, we have endured quite a bit of frustration and people are going to react in different ways.

Btw, thanks to Jauron for keeping me alive in the Survivor Pool. A. Johnson was out and he still kept the defense SO far back that they gave up well over 200 yards rushing.:D:o

Anyone who thinks that they might need to see a bright side can always count their blessings that Levy/Jauron have been purged from Buffalo.

I understand how hard it is to resist poking a stick at C.Biscuit over his four season love affair with Dick Jauron.

Promo is a hateful douche("retarded" is kind of inappropriate in the context you were using it PTR) but C.Biscuit's opinions are utterly weightless.

He went into the foxhole with Jauron for 4 loss-filled, uninspired, direction-less seasons and still hasn't come out. He is eagerly awaiting the next franchise that hits bottom and hires Jauron in hopes that those 8 losing seasons in 9 attempts are not reflective of Jauron's genius. Vindication!

Promo is heading down that same road with his rage filled responses to everything.

You could start a thread stating that you think the Bills are going to the Super Bowl and the first response in the entire thread will be Promo talking about what idiots Bills fans who don't feel that way are. It takes a narrow mind to find hate for Bills fans after 10 losing seasons in 11 years and no playoffs appearances. Guy has like 15,000 posts like that.

The issue isn't how close the losses were and that they were only the road to teams now 6-2. Not that we have had a chance to win 7 of 8 games with even the Jets game 3-0 at halftime as badly as we were outplayed.

What matters is after a 4-0 first quarter of the season which included beating the Patriots, we just finished a 1-3 second quarter (which is a 4-12 pace).

Now it is how we deal with this adversity that matters. We are in great position in a first place tie to make a run. We are also in great position to drop a couple games and fall of the pace pretty quickly. All that matters right now is finding a way to beat the Cowboys and move to 6-3 and not fall to 5-4. Taking advantage of the Jets/Pats head to head, we will either be tied for first, or tied for second after this week. Being 6-3 tied for first and heading into a winnable Miami game is a great place to be.

We actually started 3-1 in those first four, not 4-0. 2-2 since with a big victory against a talented Eagles team (who - not that it matters much - incidentally just blew out Dallas), and had a solid, complete performance against the Skins who did start the season with some decent momentum. Let's hope we can bounce back after a loss for the third time.
