Best team you never see play

It's Bears.

Too bad Martz wasn't available as OC last off-season.

Oh, wait....

Yeah, because that 30th ranked NFL offense is really what makes the Bears go.

The Martz juggernaut

And are you referring to the same Mike Martz who was about to get canned until Lovie finally put the kibosh on his stupidity a couple months ago?

An off-week meeting between Bears coach Lovie Smith and offensive coordinator Mike Martz turned the team around after losses to Seattle and Washington. The Bears went 7-2 the rest of the way as the offense placed more emphasis on the running game to balance Martz's passing attack.

"It was kind of a 'now or never' thing (with Martz)," a team source said of the meeting. "We just had to find some common ground between Lovie and Mike. Actually, to be honest, I think we had to find common ground between Mike and the rest of the team."

That team is all about defense & STs. They were 30th in offense in the regular season (5 spots behind the Bills so good point there). http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&conference=null&role=TM&offensiveStatisticCategory=GAME_STATS&defensiveStatisticCategory=null&season=2010&seasonType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=true&Submit=Go

They don't run the ball & just hope Cutler doesn't throw killer INT, which he did on the 1 but Seattle dropped.

But you're right. The Bears are in the championship because of Martz & their offense.

Lovie was worried about his own future, no doubt. If you are suggesting that He is running the offense or his demand to "run more" is directing this offense, you need to be more convincing.

Anyway, pointing the 30th offense is one way to ignore the signifcant progress that Martz has made with Culter, a guy many here claimed sucked. In the second half of the season, the team averaged more than 23 points per game (check out the Bills ppg the last 8 games), and Cutler has cut his interceptions way down under Martz, despite the worst O-line in the world (52 sacks). This defense has finally shown up and both units are playing well.
