Fight Hunger Bowl

Set your DVR for the 9:00 Fight Hunger Bowl, especially if you haven't watched Anthony Castonzo of Boston College (wouldn't he look good on the O-Line, especially in a tradedown?), Dontay Moch (is he big enough or will he get swallowed up by NFL blockers?) and Colin Kaepernick worth a 2nd rounder?

Here's who DraftTek is watching in particular tonight, along with current mock:

Sun., Jan. 9

9 p.m. Kraft Fight Hunger

Boston College vs. Nevada

RD Pick Team Plyr Pos College

1 16 New England Anthony Castonzo OT Boston College

4 100 Detroit Mark Herzlich LB43 Boston College

7 193 Carolina Donnie Fletcher CB Boston College

2 46 Minnesota Colin Kaepernick QB Nevada

3 75 Cleveland Dontay Moch OLB34 Nevada

Thanks for the heads up. Moch has amazing speed and might be an intriguing pick in Rd 3. We might get a feel for how well Castonzo holds up against a speed rusher.

I was concerned early in the season that Carimi (OT- Wisc) might struggle against speed, but he held up well in the Rose Bowl.

Pre game feelings:

Coztanzza is mediocre

Herzlich I very good and we should draft him bc is he gonna be great once he recovers from cancer treatments

Moch stinks and is Maybin 2.0

I don't care about 7th round CBs

Kapernack is rated way too high on your board and is a rd5-UDFA type guy at best.

Thoner:

Detailed evaluations, there.

You're wrong on Costanzo. Of the 208 mock drafts that I munched, 78% used Anthony Castonzo in the first round, and 18% of those said Chicago. I have 11 teams interested in OT in the early rounds. I expect 4 OT's in the first 15 picks.

Herzlich I agree is good value beginning in RD4, and we have 2 picks there. He's played in every game this year at OLB, and his tackling numbers are back where they were back in 2006, but not 2007 numbers when he amassed 97 tackles and 12 sacks.

I will reserve judgment on Moch until I see him again tonight. I'll give you that he is small just like Maybin, but not a one year wonder by any stretch (11.5 sacks and 15.0 tackles-for-loss as a soph, then 61 tackles as a junior, 20 TFL, and even better this year).

Guess which team has selected CB's in the 7th round the most?

Moch doesn't stink, but he's overrated. He is built like Maybin.

You are an awesome poster. I learn more about the draft from you than any of talking head experts.

If anyone is watching notice that Herzlich is playing like a nickle DB. Thats an athletic LB. Thats how USC used Cushing a lot.

FYI, for those who don't know, he wears #94.

Dontay Moch wears #55.

CK has a very strong arm…but his release is almost as slow as Byron Leftwich's.
